Calvin delivered a superb speech outlining the steps that need to be taken to return the Church of England to God and reverse the wokeness that has engulfed almost all of its top tiers (bishops and much of the clergy). He describes his own personal experience, which culminated recently in the Church of England declining to ordain him into the priesthood.

@Sunday School Network may I ask what translation of scripture you are relying on? It makes a big difference if you are a "fundamentalist". Are you using original languages (ie Hebrew/Greek)? NIV? KJB? NRSV? Do tell. Only "truths" have a habit of changing according to the translator/edition.

Rev Calvin is a breath of fresh air. Jesus is alive. I am a 52 years ex-transwoman from Malaysia who is living his best life. Jesus has healed and delivered me for His glory. Only Jesus can do that for ANYONE who chooses to believe. Alleluia!

This is a monumental injustice for Calvin, and speaking as an "open door" agnostic with anglican principals I feel utterley dismayed and disgusted that our C of E has come to this. At a time in our lives when many of us have turned to or taken strength from faith, the insidious cancer of progressive wokery leaves no stone unturned regading all our nations institutions. The problems of the Anglican church goes back to theological liberalism of the late 18th century. Since then, every decade or so, the Anglican church has gone one notch further away from Biblical Christianity! @@Apriluser I'm regular eastern-rite Orthodox but from what I've read about Western Rite Orthodoxy it is incredibly similar to Anglican liturgies. If I'm not wrong the Book of Common Prayer is still used.

Please pray for me. I’m sorry that I continue to cry out for prayers. I’m still struggling to provide for my two autistic children since losing my job over not getting the vaccine. I have pre existing health condition (Lupus) and Heart disease. I was denied my medical/religious exemption from Forsyth Hospital. My husband passed away three years ago, so I’m all alone. Both of my sons are non verbal so things are more difficult for me. I don’t know how we are going to make it through. Every month is a struggle, a battle to not end up on the streets. I don’t know how I’m going to make it. I’m so embarrassed by my situation. I’ve been put down and mocked over my circumstances. It’s hard to hold my head up. BUT NO MATTER WHAT. Even as I face homelessness with two young children. I have Faith that God will provide! Faith over Fear! I believe.

I lost my faith in 1985. Since i lost my wife 5 years ago i have been broken and have no purpose. The feeling of loss i cannot describe. This year i have been drawn to returning to the Church, however the Church i thought i left no longer exists just at my hour of need.

Try the Orthodox Church. It still holds solidly to the Scriptures. Never mind the political issue with Ukraine. And don't judge a book by its cover. There is a foreignness to it depending on the culture of the parish, but look into what is taught. If you find a parish that uses all English that is best. I am honest in saying the Orthodox are the most realistic in dealing with life problems and through the healing power of the Gospels can help. It takes time but help is there.

I'm sorry to hear you've been going through such a hard time. I'm totally alone in the world but holding onto my faith, as a Catholic, ultimately blows away the dark thoughts. God is all around, in the sheer happiness that is birdsong, flowers budding in the spring and for me, the joy of making my pets happy. Perhaps you could look for hope in these lovely things, the world will seem brighter. God bless.

@@deleted3843 Calvin is English, but you have to understand that white people use English as an ethnic identity. That will never change. Everyone is entitled to their identity and the truth is this is quite easy to deal with. Make a distinction between civic and ethnic English and make sure all are the same under the law and that should suffice. If you don't do that then it means you're giving one group a dual identity and denying another group any meaningful identity. You can't do that, it causes jealousy, tension and trouble.
Most of the friends I've had from other communities would have said I'm Jamaican and British or I'm Pakistani and British etc. White people said I'm English and British, English was always about ethnicity for them and although it may make some people feel excluded which is a shame it's still the way it is and it will never change. It just won't.
English is and ethnicity and it's a country, its named England after the people who inhabited the island, Angelcynn which later became known as AEngla Land.
English people are a distinctive racial group with a long and great heritage and we are proud of it and everything we have achieved as a people.

As much as the gospel brings peace between God and sinners (Romans 4:25-5:1) it also brings DIVISION between those aligned with Jesus and those who reject Him. This separation is sharp enough to cut through the closest of family ties, even causing rifts, sometimes, between members of one’s own household (Matthew 10:35-39).
Christ’s promise of bringing a sword isn’t to cause unnecessary conflict - Christians are supposed to live at peace with everyone “as far as it depends on you” (Romans 12:18). In pursuing this peace, however, Christians are also promised a life marked by necessary tension, because the kingdom of the world is at war with the kingdom of God.
Each one of us will need to choose what to do with Jesus, and if we choose to follow him, our lives will look very different to the culture around us. Hope that helps to explain the relevance of the passage that Calvin references. 😊

He know's better.. Teach the Bible dialectically, why not? I think this all started with the repeal of the fairness doctrine in america. Remember point/counterpoint etc. I've seen historical films (just recently watched Dawkins versus Pell.) They give a much clearer understanding of the Bible. When one demonizes opposing viewpoints, that's when we know we're in trouble.

Im a Roman Catholic and I pray for this man. I just became aware of the political climate in the UK and how the cancer of critical race theory has reached more places than it should have. Some of the greatest Christians this country has produced has been cancelled or thrown out of the Church of England or jailed or had the living put in jeopardy. John Bunyan, the Wesley brothers, Cadbury (that family showed what Christianity was really about).

One of my Ugandan friends who grew in in England, large home, consultant doctor father and teacher mother, accused me of white privilege. I grew up sharing a bedroom with my brother until the age of 14, 6 of us in a 3 bed house. Mum was a cleaner and Dad a painter and decorator.
I am white but was shoved in an orphanage at birth and sexually abused later in another one. Yeah white privelege. Pray that the black countries don't succeed as then it will be black privelege.

I think you misunderstood the term "privilege." Privilege in this context is not about the standard of living that someone creates for themselves but the unconscious bias people of colour are subjected to because of centuries of propaganda. Having said that, equally there shouldn't be guilt for people who have never benefited or participated in such discriminations.
