@@musical_lolu4811 yes. The request was made for Mendelssohn but he "didn't have time" and resorted to Ferdinand David who was a violin virtuosso who later premiered the Op. 64 Mendelssohn's violin concerto
Where do the photographs of the handwritten score from? As far as I know, the autograph of the David Concertino is considered to be lost. I am very curious.
@@maurofarrugia8546 Thank you very much. That’s very interesting. Sullivan studied in Leipzig for two years starting in 1858. That’s where he must have gotten in contact with Ferdinand David and this trombone concerto. Very interesting.
Can we just take a moment to admire that handwriting, my gosh
yes we can!
I can write like that
@@MP-cv6iflucky I can barley read my own name💀

Thank so much 🎶🥳
Meraviglioso, Bravo!
excellent piece - not enough trombone concerto repertoire...
This music is actually quite good for enjoyable studying

wish Mendelssohn had written him a concerto. But this piece is still great.
I thought he premiered Mendelssohn's violin concerto?

Who is the superb soloist ? ? ? This is the finest interpretation of this composition I have ever heard.
read the info box.
apparently its "Christian Lindberg" 🎼
Quisiera q este concierto durara una hora
4:13 this is my favorite part
Wonderful music wonderfully performed!
Seems like the recording used in this video used a different edition of the score. I spotted a few differences between the score and the recording!
Of course. The performer used the published score. The manuscript score often has to be corrected before publishing by the composer.
Trombones RUUUUUUUUUUUUUULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see. It was recently uploaded to imslp. It is not clear whose handwriting it is. Interesting.
This is the hand writing of Sir Arthur Sullivan!
