    Wow, Andie the fit on your Pliedes Dress is stunning! Well worth all the effort. Could relate to parts of your fitting issues - after watching Karina at Lifting Pins and Needles I’ve realised I need a ‘low bust adjustment’ on some patterns - and it’s making such a difference! Btw, I love your natural vlogs and your sewing is beautifully done. Thanks, Susan x

    Great vlog and makes, I am also a blouse maker.. !! I love making them. We are all such funny people, the minute someone says… ooo that’s nice did you make it.. ?
    we immediately say … yes I did .. it has pockets.. or yes I made it, look at this mistake.. ! where as, in fact we should just be proud of ourselves… !!! Thank you for taking the time to share.

    Dress looks great to me. Good fit and I personally prefer it without the frill. I always love your makes - they look very professional. Love Notions top is gorgeous too. Sorry about all the work stress. Been through it 3 times in my career and always went on to something much better. Good Luck.

    I love the Lincoln Top - just love it! I made two of them (my favorite was stolen, phooey). I think that I only left the bottom two buttonholes open and “cheated” with the rest of them too by sewing on the button on top of the buttonhole. Yesterday I bought some striped fabric to make another Lincoln Top, but I saw another pattern I wanted to make and made a dress out of that fabric. Back to the fabric store with me! Your new black Pleiades dress is wonderful. Happy Sewing and hugs from Oregon!

    Andie, I’m a new subscriber and I so enjoy your channel. I really enjoyed your Christmas Vlogmas videos (yes, I’ve watched all your videos). My sister and I have a love for anything in the UK having made several trips there, which is why I enjoyed the Christmas videos with you taking us along and seeing the landscape of your travels.
    I also really like making blouses too and you’ve made some lovely ones. I just recently finished the Frida blouse and I will be making a few more. It’s a fun made and I sewed along with Beyond the pink Door video. Thank you for your videos, they are very inspiring and informative! Happy Easter.

    Thanks for your vlog and your clear description of your thought processes around getting a good fit. That’s the main issue I struggle with is knowing how/what to change when my toile isn’t right. I need to have more patience and try small adjustments. Your wearable toile looks much better. Looking forward to your final/ real version of the dress. I do love your blouse though. Your finishes are so polished and professional. I’m somewhat hooked on your vlogs now! 😄

    The dress was worth the extra wok, the fit looks great. I often go down a size on the shoulders/neckline of a dress pattern then grade out to the correct size at lower part of arm hole to get the correct fit across bust, this seems to work for my proportions better than doing a full bust adjustment!

    • @soandiesews
      @soandiesews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Nicky, I’m really pleased with the changes and the fit is a lot better 😊

    The fit on the Pleiades dress is so much better and I prefer no frill too. I have just had a similar problem with the Lise Tailor Gigi dress. The armhole was gaping hugely. It was all finished so I decided to take in the bodice sides and also added an armhole dart. The fabric hides the changes but I will need to alter the pattern next time. This will be a new step in my sewing journey!

    I think the size 12 version of the dress looks great! It’s fitting you really well now. The dress looks nice as is, but a frill at the bottom would give it a little something extra.

    Sorry to hear that its been a rough couple of weeks resulting in gardening leave. However, I know how resilient you are and that you’ll find new ventures instead. Give you more time to try and learn how to say that tricksy P word…Pussy Bow!!! You managed to get your tongue around Pleiades without any problem. Love all your makes and have fun with your April blouses. Trouble is I cant hear about them without laughing, cos in my head are Victoria Wood and Julie Walters “Did you see the news last night?”, “I did, shocking blouse!!!” 😂 Enjoy the Easter weekend xxxxxxx

    Your dress looks so lovely Andie and it looks fine without the frill 👌. I have a very similar problem with being a twelve across the shoulders but at least a fourteen on the chest 😏. I usually end up making things a little too big because I often can't be bothered to grade... Just laziness really 😜. Enjoy making your blouses Andie 😁💖😘

      Thank you so much Sally. I’m the same as you and I love it when patterns come with a full bust option, but if they don’t I do tend to go for the larger sizes, then (like you) they end up too big! 😘

    Blimey Andie you have been so busy, and how patient are you to do all those toiles? Love the material you've made your knitting bag from - was it 'thick' to sew? How do you knit wearing gloves? 😂xx

    • @soandiesews
      @soandiesews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Doesn’t everyone knit with gloves on, they are fingerless 😉 They also need the ends sewing in 😂xx

  • @kylieharrison3782
    @kylieharrison3782 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why don't you use the dress pattern you just fitted to make a blouse? Still add the gathered part but just reduce the length of that panels to either a blouse or tunic length. 😍

    • @soandiesews
      @soandiesews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Now there’s a great idea Kylie. I did make a mistake in the Lura dress once that looked great as a tunic 😉x

      Gardening leave is the term they use to say you are still employed until your contract finishes but you are not required to be in work. I’m not sure why they call it that.., should really be called sewing leave in my case 😂
