IMO the beginning of the end of the good matchmaking experience can be tracked to one single moment and that was when xbox live got party chat. I played halo 2 for like 10k+ hours and tons of mw2 as well because every lobby was a new group of PEOPLE. Yes, some of those encounters were...unpleasant BUT the ones that weren't are some of the best times I've had with games in my entire life. Being able to load into a 4 v 4 match of halo 2 and have all 8 people on comms like 70% of your matches was a wonderful experience and it helped put the toxicity into perspective. Now, the only people in public chat of non highly competitive modes are people too abrasive to have friends to be in a discord call with. What is it that keeps people playing one online game over another? Today, it's sunk cost, but traditionally, it's because their friends play it. If you want to make a good multiplayer experience, create one where you can make friends. They will keep you logging in day after day much better than log in bonuses and battlepasses. Still, the ability for any group of friends to immediately remove themselves from the public voice channel is something that can't be undone and just has to be worked around.
Awesome video. I always have something good to watch while I’m on the clock with your content around. Keep up the great work and hope to see even better content from you in the future 👍🏾✨
Another fun video to watch with good points for extrinsic motivators of matching, has the vibe of a KnowledgeHusk video but if it was polished and concise. I will be very surprised if you don't exponentially grow with this level on content
The current state of affairs in online multiplayer really is depressing. I mean, I don't do multiplayer anyway because I suck, but if I did it would be a real bummer for me :(
@@lilkeyblader You like the manta ray? More like I need a manta rayl me am I right or am I right fellas. Please think of this joke any time you see big man, and realize this is how he got his name.
@@feedjompo You are legally correct, however he is also the first male idol in a Splatoon game. He has airhorns in his theme music. The man reps Brazil. My man's carrying Shiver and Frye on his back.
The Finals, a recent arena pvp shooter, got me a little disappointed as they use AI voices for the in game annunciators, so i maybe innocently expected some direct interactions with your in game actions, like "wow [username] with the grenade double kill" or whatever, but there is none of that. Maybe it's too early for it, idk, but i like this idea, i hope to see it someday. Games could do a lot of things with this, even talking about your previous games and achievements during the game when the spotlight is on you. Apex Legends has a thing akin to that where at the start of a game it will display a specific team for everyone to be wary of, and seeing your team show up after you've just won your previous game felt a little bit special.
Don’t know why but the nostalgia for that Rachet and Clank clip at the end transitioning to your end screen really got my emotions turnt up.
You fool, you've fallen into my nostalgia trap.
Adored that idea about deep cut talking about your growth online in MP. Would love to see that in a game
I'm glad you liked it. I feel like that would really set it apart from other games.

I will make you proud
How the fuck do you only have 807 subscribers? In all seriousness, your content is great and I hope to see more from you in the future.
Thanks for the compliment. I moved recently so there's been a big gap in time but I have plenty of ideas for future videos.

Thanks! I have no idea who KnowledgeHusk is though.
I would try watching a couple of videos, no matter the topic I like watching his videos
Fighting games 100% are so hard to play multiplayer on if its not with friends! Sometimes multiplayer canonically doesnt make sense either. Great vid!

Yeah, it's hard to find games that don't also try to exploit us, but there are some indie games and small studio games that seem like they're trying.
noo not that tails spray
I'm your biggest fan Jompo.
I know.
SPlatooN!! (Specifically 2, I played that a lot, but 3 is better)
(Came from your most recent vid, it was great!)
CSM MANGA SPOTTED
How come channels like these get under the radar (YOU EVEN ADDED THE MUSIC AND WHAT TIME IT WAS PLAYED; YOU GIGACHAD)
You can thank my mysterious friend who recommended I list music info for that.
please dont get a capture card the way you filmed the tv was very funny.
Also we fighting about Big Man I can't stand for that slander
I reject Big Man. He's only there as the third member because Splatoon 3 is obsessed with the number 3. I am legally correct about this.
Big man is what saves the two others from being lame
