Does anybody know if this is the Tchaikovsy piece used in the ballet, Aleko, by Leoni Bassine with Chagall as the designer of sets and costumes? There is a fascinating anecdote claiming that the opera’s first performance was in Mexico City in 1942. It may well be but not even Bing AI knows about this. Thank you!
