@@FoxFishing4K All the four character code, WXYZ style commands, are metadata storage fields. TUSB is a metadata command. !M is for permanent metadata storage. oM is the temporary version. So !MABCD=2 is storage as metadata (!M), the variable ABCD, with value 2.

Hrmm... So one can download alternative firmware, from GoPro, with a bunch of tweak options it accepts. One cannot download the firmware's source code, modify it as desired ("custom firmware"), compile it, and execute that on the platform. Is this correct?

You can do both. You can use the site to create the code or you could modify the code yourself.

FYI if you do a firmware update you'll lose these settings and you'll need to update GoPro Labs too and rescan the QR code.
