    These were the good old days when life was so simple. I remember in 6th grade Byron was my favorite NBA player, I had pictures on my wall, the whole nine.
    My mom took me to my first Lakers game in 1986 and somehow snuck me into the Forum Club, and who do we see by the bar…Byron Scott.
    My mom approaches him while he’s eating an ice cream bar, grabs his bicep and asked him for a picture with me. I was sooooo nervous. I still have that picture today. For that Byron, I thank you sir! 🙏🏼

    What I love most is that they've kniw each other for almost 40 years and Byron still calls him Kirk instead of Kurt.😂🤣 That's family for ya!!

    “Rambo”!!👍 Great interview. I always love hearing about my FAVE team of all time the 80’s Lakers. Love it. “B” u gotta get Magic on. I know he’s busy and has a million things goin on. But u could get’em B. He’d do it for you. You’ve had about everyone else on. Gotta get Earv. Dig your show man.

      Otis Thorpe, Mo Lucas, MOSES... today, there's no place for these kinds of players, and the game is completely different.
      And far more boring.

    Kurt's cool and classy. Thanks Kurt for all of the dirty work which made others shine. Sad that Lakers never retired his number as well as others.

    I could not stand Scott when he played (I was a die hard Celtics fan), but I have to admit years later he has won me over. These are fun videos.

    One time, the Lakers had won a playoff game and the TV cameras were in the locker room doing interviews. In the far background you could see a showering tall, lanky man that was Kurt Rambis. He was swinging' down there. I was always shocked that they allowed it. I don't think they realized it.

    Kurt was a big-time scorer in college, but mainly as a postup player. Since the Lakers had a pretty good post player named Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kurt decided to do all the other things, like rebounding, inbounding, and playing defense.

    • @drh3b
      @drh3b ปีที่แล้ว

      Kurt wasn't consistent on offense in the NBA. Some days, he's actually be killing it, and other days, he'd miss easy layups. I wonder if he had taken his offense more seriously, if he would have been more consistent.

    • @Pronzini1
      @Pronzini1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drh3b your comments lacks the range of total understanding of the Lakers in that era. Kurt was not asked to score. Riley told him not to score. He wanted him to rebound, set picks, pass, and play great defense and Kurt did all those things
