My favorite time meeting Kobe, I used to work at a Wendy’s by where he lived and he came in with the two girls one night around 2009 off-season it was late and the food we were about to serve him was garbage so I asked him if he was cool with us making it fresh it would be about 7 minutes he said cool pulled up in the drive thru but there was a single mom w her two kids wearing laker jerseys inside eating remember it’s late he gets out the car goes up and takes a picture with them n signs a jersey right before I gave him his food. Man was always humble and will always be missed
Thanks for sharing that story. Whenever I hear stories about people who i respect and look up to go out of their way to do nice things for people it only solidifies to me that KB was really a man of good character

I’m from Orlando FL and I have Kobe as my goat if you’re not sure why that’s odd this man shattered the Magic’s closest hope at a title for the first time in over a decade I literally watched that man stop himself from giving us 50 every night so his teammates would feel involved THE 🐐
Facts Kobe was the epitome of if everyone plays defense I’ll make the big shots.
@@PrimordialBeing360 gotta add some facts to this to be purely accurate: mainly that kobe had exactly ZERO problems sharing, both the ball and the credit with guys that put in work alongside him.

I met kobe 1 time his Lamborghini broke down in front of me and some of my friends at dodger stadium we help push start his car up the hill he was throwing out the first pitch he gave us all a autograph

@@kettlemypedals oh i think PP was the LAST thing on KB's mind just then--at least in the moment. he was still doing his best to be invincible, able to withstand any pain and still play and win. he led a crazy comeback in that game, and he finished the job, pulling the lakers even w/the FTs before excusing himself. he was worried about the rest of his career; guarantee you paul freaking pierce was nowhere NEAR the top of his mind. he wasn't one-upping PP, he was staying true to who he had been his whole career; just keep on fighting through pain to produce. i think his entire modus operandi was a criticism of the PP-ethos of going out in a wheelchair or whatever. not saying PP was a wimp, but if Kobe had gone out like that he'd have FELT like a wimp himself.
love that GV has some of the same thoughts about AAU ball. i've long felt like that is the reason that man defense is becoming a lost art in the NBA. scoring is way up...and i'll be damned if regular season NBA doesn't look just like AAU ball, with all that matador ("ole") defense being played. AAU is tailor-made to feature players' offensive skills...but so few of those kids actually put in defensive effort beyond blocks and steals that I can't sit for even half a game.
Chilling to hear him say “he’s a tough guy to argue with”, I believe the pilot was just trying to make his client happy, rip to everyone in the chopper 🙏
