You know what throws their designs off? They normalized their eye shapes. Rather than the stylized eyes that the original series had, they chose to go with a more normal eye style. There are still some elements of the original eye shape (namely with how far apart the eyes are set from each other), but they went with a meet in the middle shape.
@@ryankalombo2734 They’re not judging the reboot, they’re judging the character designs, which is perfectly fine to do given that we have a good amount of content on them now. Judging the character design choices does not equate to judging the show. My problem is that the designs in these reboots always fail to be fashionable, which is what the og series succeeded at (seasons 1-3, sometimes 4 at least). I get that they want to make them look more like teenagers, which is a great thing, but that’s not an excuse to put them in dated fashions that’s nobody will look back on and think “iconic”. It’s possible to design characters that are supposed to be teenagers but are still up to date with current trends, especially with how many aesthetics and fashion subcultures that are more well known in the 2020’s that could fit each of the winx perfectly
Exactly! When I was a kid I would watch the shows and be like "I wonna wear that!" I cant see many little kids looking at these outfits and going "man I wonna wear low cut jeans with gym spandex underneith".
@@maddygullotta2551 frrr and that’s the problem. The character designs have to be appealing and visually pleasing to its audience, imo that’s almost if not as important as the writing.
I admire everyone's restraint...they just look straight up ugly. Only Tecna looks cute in any way. Literally there are soooooo many videos out there of people styling the girls, and they didn't think to get inspiration from them?
I don't dislike their outfits, the wings however are just too detailed for magic winx. Not even enchantix had this much detail in their wings, I get that they want it to appeal to children and be brighter and eye-catching but it's just too much with not enough contrasting colors to make it work (AND WHY IS ALFEA NOT PINK OMGGG)
I don't mind the details in the wings, the old magic Winx designs from season 1 and 2 were too simple and I like the details Edit: I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID, THE DESIGNS ARE TERRIBLE!!! UGHHHHH
I don’t get this critique we don’t know what form these designs or even if they will function the same way the OG show did. I also just don’t get the hatred of more detailed wings because quite frankly they are fairies the wings are best part and them being small and simple was something I never got from The OG magic winx but regardless the art style and medium is different I don’t think having super simple and lazy wings designs will look very good anyways?? This coming from someone who is against the idea of reboot in general.
Elisa said on Twitter that these might not be the final designs at the end of the day since someone asked, so we might have some hope. But it does seems like the one that’s finished the most is Flora since they showed her the most. Also for the outfit we gotta understand they gotta be a little busy and not to simple for dolls. So kids actually wanna buy them😭. Of course some outfits could look a little better which they might!
Oh good, I’m not the only one who recoiled at Stella being “the fairy of the shining sun”. No. The sun AND the moon. Idk what they have against the moon. It’s giving comedic relief villain that tries to destroy or steal the moon that we aren’t meant to take seriously.
Like I said before, Stella should be called "Fairy of the Shining Eclipse" to reference both the sun and the moon. Plus, it just rolls off the tongue more.
ring/scepter of solaria erasure will forever haunt me :') elisa did mention that nothing is final until the show actually releases so changes can still happen. i think alfea's architecture just needs to add more art nouveau details, but i do like the structure though.
I get the impression the reason these designs don't "feel like Winx" to fans is that Rainbow is specifically going in a different direction to attract a new audience, hence the Miraculous Ladybug vibes because like it or hate it, Ladybug was popular enough to spawn an entire media franchise. Personally, I like the more "busy" designs because it's 3D meaning they can have that level of detail on characters that would be a pain in the ass to animate in 2D. I'm still cautiously optimistic about the reboot because who knows what could change between now and 2025.
Ladybug actually had decent character design (not akumas) because they still go simpler. Not the classic overly noisy and gaudy designs typically seen in girls dolls.
@@amandaslough125 Oh be for real.. so many people have criticized Miraculous for its lazy and weird designs. I get the point youre making, but lets not raise one thing higher to make one thing lower.
@@RainiiDay7 I am 'being real' since I'm talking more so execution. Girls usually liking details and frills on their designs isn't innately a bad thing, but companies can over do it in ways that harm the design. Especially when they usually just want to push their products. Let's reduce it to say just civilian character designs (I won't defend most of the villains and half the super hero costumes). There's a lot of common design tropes found in the doll industry that come across as "cheap fashion" that Miraculous doesn't do. Which helped propel it's popularity (despite usually cheaper dolls themselves). The characters have very clean designs with iconic outfits and colors, even if you redrew them all with the same base body type. Or if you recolored characters with the design elements/colors of others. They'd all still maintain a sense of identity and iconography when morphed. In comparison, Monster High Girls, while an amazing franchise, still slips up with overdesigning patterns and details on its characters, leaving to very little negative space to rest your eyes. The monster themes wear the characters instead of the other way around. You're more likely going to lose the character in the details. The alternative culture influence requires more details overall, but the execution still leaves it more in the over-design and noisy realm. Barbie, being _the_ doll brand, commonly also uses heavy patterns or funky design elements, but she keeps a certain simplicity towards herself that keeps her iconic and appealing across the decades. She has a very "could wear in real life" wardrobe. Meanwhile, other media franchises with overdesigns tend to include a certain flow to the designs, so they stay appealing even while heavily detailed. But those tend to not be doll franchises. Like, even with high details, you can tell if a design is made by an actual fashion designer (a previous pride of the show) versus someone just tagging on more details. And these new Winx designs seem only mildly competent, and without their fashion roots, come across more bland. Like, that new horse academy show has very 'safe' designs, but still feels like it has a stronger identity with its characters.
It‘s always so ironical that Stella is the worst looking even tho she cares about her appearance the most. I mean yeah she always has been a bangs girlie but those on her transformation concept are really not it and her casual look not stylish either
I told a friend of mine I didn't like how desaturated Stella looked, and she said "It looks like she was printed with too little ink left" and that is just the most accurate description for her current look. If she had her proper colour scheme and her clothes were a bit more vibrant she might be able to make the look work. But this just looks like an embarrasing accident 💀
For real she is the fairy of the sun and the moon like literally her dad has the power of the sun and her mom got the power of the moon, to me they are just too lazy to be thinking about such details.
When you talked about the sci-fi elements, it made me realize how much we've been missing that excitement for new technology/engineering. There was variety in the phones and computers, and the tech-characters would engage with a ton of different possibilities for what they could use/make with the electronics they had. Like the "It's 2004 and I figured out how my flip phone can do holograms." I genuinely feel like newer shows have lost a lot of that, and the "hi-tech" gear/electronics have gotten a lot more streamlined to match what kids actually have access to. I think sci-fi and wacky inventions have a really important place in encouraging creativity in younger audiences, even if the show doesn't have technology as its Number 1 focus.
So true! Give Tecna nanotechnomagic abilities where she goes beyond the natural limits of what physical hardware could actually hold. There would be a lot of elasticity and fluidity to her power sets, like maybe her shields would curve and bend and fold and encase. If they break, they regenerate. I dunno, just throwing out a thought here.
they could also got the precure route in the sense that the characters usually have a couple items that are normal things like mirrors but bc of magic they're a lot more technologically advanced & can do a lot of different things. they also make great toys for children so it's just a win-win but oh well, we'll see
I do have a theory on why the designs are the way they are: Clothing in CGI is a bitch, You probably know Thomas having done blender but rigging complicated or loose outfits is a nightmare (For those who haven't done CGI, Trust me it is a pain and getting a sym to work is an even bigger pain... and the show absolutely wont have the budget for them anyway) So that limits the creators to mostly tight fitting outfits, every dangly bit or frill or flowy bit they add is more work for the animators and that ups the budget. So what do you do? You add textures and patterns, lots of sparkles, weird textures. These are also easy to translate to dolls and toys. Probably the same reason the art style is the way it is and similar to alot of CGI girls shows, they want to sell dolls and this style looks close to the dolls.
Even in 2D, loose clothing adds a lot of extra details to animate them right. 3D is gonna be so time comsuming to rig and texturize. We don't often get to see OG Winx in loose clothing anyways, so the styling for the reboot is not a surprise, but what I can hope for is that the final 3D renders don't go overboard with "less is more". Stella's look here feels too simple. Aisha's texturing is too simple. Tecna rocks the simplicity tho because that's her style. To me, Musa just has that right balance to her simple-complex design meter. Just give her more textures to her clothing and she'll be ready to go. Flora too, give her a bit more patterns and exaggerate those floral detailing on her blazer a bit more like from the concept art. Impress me with their 3D modelling, dammit! Her fairy form is just right to me tho. I love her skirt that resembles like the layers of rose petals. Her braid is everything.
As muted as the clothing colors are (and I say that as a criticism because this is Winx Club we are talking about), I appreciate that we aren't whitewashing Aisha and Flora anymore. Imma need them to fix Musa's eyes because she's got the same face as Bloom right now instead of looking like her own character.
I actually like the new Alfea and Winx dorm... Flora's transformation also looks good What I don't like is how unfashionable everyone looks. The OG show, especially the first 3 seasons, was so iconic for its fashion. Here their outfits make them look like generic kids show characters.
Ofc not. Remember that it doesn't come out until 2025 and it is still a work in progress, so i doubt these are final renders. I'm hopeful for it, even with the changes. Also, Iginio's fave fairy is Flora, and she was the first transformation sneak peek we saw for s6 with bloomix too
@@ducky953 its semi-positive rn; the most liked comment on insta is about making the names of Stella and Aisha's powers right and how ugly Stella is so hopefully they'll do something if all else fails, we'll probably get some banger music
Agreed. I think the animation will be even better in the officially released version. Normally when teasers like this are shown, they display an unfinished version.
I find it hilarious that "it's giving Miraculous Ladybug vibes" is never meant in a positive way, but no one has to specify why. Btw, thank you Thomas for not covering that show, I know you would nothing but suffer and so would we because of how badly the writing ruined it's own story, like, what the FUCK happened there??

Honestly I’m happy Tecna doesn’t have the robot arms, thank God for them returning her into the actual human who struggles with emotions instead of “not being connected enough with her emotions” = robot
From what Elisa herself said, everything that was shown in this like preview thing is not final and is mostly just prototypes, wich leads me to belive that Rainbow is just showing us a lot of random prototypes so we can complain a lot thanks to wich they will know what we like and what we don't like so they final show will prob look diffrent from what was shown(also am i the only one confused why is Musa wearing a swim-suit?)
I hate that they made the magic winx wings so detailed. How are you supposed to one-up that with Enchantix without making the next form too noisy and overwhelming? i also dont like that they aren't really resembling insect/butterfly wings at least a little bit. especially Stella's & Musa's feels more like tinted glass that has been attached to their backs.
I want you to know that the second you said "It's giving Miraculous Ladybug" I had vicious flashbacks and now I need a hug or something. I'm in physical pain.
In my personal opinion, the reboot's design is too generic and human-like, which doesn't really work for a show about fairies, witches, and magic. The hair used to have a fantasy vibe with it being unnaturally long, but now it just looks basic, and the faces have a Disney feel, which takes away from their unique and ethereal nature. I actually liked the unrealistic body types from the original because they made the characters feel otherworldly. It would be nice to see different sizes and heights, but they should keep the cartoonish style to help the fantasy feel. The new outfits don’t really show the characters’ personalities either. Aisha being sporty and that being represented by putting her in yoga pants feels stupid. I also think the sci-fi elements are super important to the show’s identity, and taking them out would be a huge mistake because they’re what set the show apart from others, and would set apart from the likes of Miraculous. And what’s up with Stella being so pale now? If she’s the fairy of the sun, she should have a tan. I do like Aisha’s hair, but it’s a bit too typical for a Black character in 3D cartoons; goddess braids would’ve been a much better fit, for her aesthetic and be something different. There's still time for them to make changes, and while I don’t expect it to match the original, I’m hopeful it can still turn out to be good.
1) Tecna - girl is slaying with her new cut and holographic look, lowkey looks better than her previous iteration 2) Flora - cute and stylish as always, back to having her darker skin bless 3) Aisha - loving the braids, the outfit is a little weird (seriously what’s with the cutouts?) 4) Musa - nice to see the pigtails again, but girl looks like Marinette (so much for her monolids), also not a fan of the outfit 5) Stella - girl got butchered (what is that hair?!) rip tan Stella, she may be my least favorite but she deserved better

Sometimes it feels like people that critique reboots genuinely just want to see the original series again, as if you can't watch the originals anymore. I'm up for seeing a new spin on things and new ideas. We haven't seen much, and a lot of the stuff we have seen in the past has ended up changing a lot, so until we actually get an actual full on trailer, I'm not gonna judge it all as a whole
Yeah. Like, you can dislike the new reboot of your favorite show. But why act like it's gonna replace the original? Many acts like the original is just gonna get deleted. Why would it? The original is so iconic and most viewed. So why would rainbow even do it?
Yeah - I get wanting to see the original series be properly revived, but this *is* a reboot after all, not a revival. And it looks* pretty good so far imo (even if it's a bit different), I'm just worried about the voice acting. I'm hoping the voices in the sneak peek video aren't going to be their final voices but, other than that, the reboot looks alright so far. But, yeah, a trailer would probably be the best way to judge it, so... Only time will tell. *Design-wise. Well, excluding Alfea (or, at least, I think it's meant to be Alfea). I kinda miss the pink.
I agree. Like, don't get me wrong, I want them to stay true to the heart of the story, but if all your critiques are about it not being the same as the original, then just WATCH THE ORIGINAL. Personally, I have high hopes for the reboot. We haven't seen much, but they kinda ate.
I agree. This is a full reboot as well, not a soft one like what happened in season 5. So of course there will be a lot of drastic changes from the original
I let out the biggest « WHEW GIRL » of my career when I read the title 😭 It’s probably still a prototype, but really...just bring the stylists back idk, since they won’t understand the simpler the better, get them out of retirement and call them to the rescue. My main issue with the transformation outfits is that they don't look interesting or new. All except Flora's look like a bad mix of JoJo Siwa and gymnasts' uniforms, which let Flora's dress seem super out of place. Also Stella's everyday outfit does not say fashionista in the slightest (I've seen outfits like that on fashionable 8-12-year-olds but not teenagers 😭😭) I do like Tecna's normal outfit tho!
Time for me to pretend i know fashion and fix these outfits Stella: Turn pleated portion of her dress orange and sleeve and collar white ditch sunglasses Aisha: this has no silhouette but its sporty a cropped hoodie would be nice Musa: idk make the crop top match the pants color
I'm sad, I genuinely miss Aisha's auburn hair. They gave her black hair here, which is good and fine but... just took away some of the original, that auburn shade color was everything for me, and suited her so well. And it made her stand up from other Black characters. And I also miss her loose curly hair, though the braids are alright.
To me Bloom's fairy outfit looks like someone gave their little sibling free reign on fabric and left it as is. Stella's casual design has too many light colors and almost no contrast. Like her outfits from the show managed to be colorful but also contrast her light hair and skin, this yellow outfit doesn't. Aisha's casual outfit could benefit from some texture or messing around with the shade a bit. I like her outfit but it looks flat here. Tecna and Flora are serving, as they should. Musa's hair in her fairy form feel like something is missing. It would be nice if she had her headphones or some sort of hair accessory. Overall I think the girls look more genericand less memorable here than they did in the original series. Winx to me always looked different from other shows with it's color choices, outfits and artstyle but here it looks like they're trying to make it look like other shows out there.
Imo stella should have a tan idk why but stella gives me that 2000s kesha miami girl vibes? also they should have leaned more into those spiky y2k hair styles with musa and make her more tomboy leaning. Flora could use a lil bit more of melanin but i get that in 3d everyone looks paler. Tecna is *chefs kiss* perfect but maybe thats bc i like holographic stuff so eh? Idk why all the fits feel so athleisure-y to me, hm
her hair is also a way lighter blue. animation gives that blue-black to a lot of asian characters to show it as "true black" hair rather than really dark brown but with ml and now here its lightened enough to look like blue dye on blonde (even assuming it would be bleached). i dont care if its supposed to be for stylization its just more lightwashing.
@@gingerdog8203 haha when I saw the new renders I noticed how different her face looked so I went to compare it with the concept art and yep, different eyes, they marinettefied her
@@tex6579 you're right! They also did the blue-black hair in the og show but it effectively came out looking black, here it's just blue. Very sad that Tecna looks more asian than Musa now
Tecna and Flora are the only ones who look good, the rest is really bad. I hate that they changed the original designs, even though they weren´t perfect they were much much better than anything this is. I´m afraid this reboot will be a true disaster, i can´t help myself, i just feel it.
7:16 I do appreciate the crescent moon shape along Stella's top, so they are still acknowledging her connection to the moon. I just hope against all likelihood that they express it through her powers and not just a design aesthetic.
This is the reason why i never understood why people complained about Winx OG 3D models, it screamed winx and was completely different from any other 3D model, and now this is what we get... just a whatever is popular model. I personally don't mind the looks, but they need more work, and given that this is supposed to come in almost 2026, they have time to fix them, especially Stella's fashion, and i NEED them to give her bangs...
I hope it's an unfinished teaser or like programming bc bloom and Mitzi looked pretty good in that clip with the colorful bathroom or in the bloom showing her powers clip, this.. looks unfinished and choppy and 2025 is around the corner so I'll be pretty disappointed if this is the actual final product
I'm still hyped but I agree, what made Winx stand out in the first place was that it was completely different from its contemporaries. The reboot seems to follow recent trends, such as Disney-style 3D animation and the generic fantasy look of Alfea. I like Flora's transformation look the best but the rest is not good. Elaborate, busy designs are not always the best and are often bad if not approached carefully (I'm looking at you RWBY). I wished they were kept simple like the early designs. Bloom looks hideous and I can't fathom that being close to the final choice.
Props for making them look like teenagers. As much as I don’t agree with the critics skinny-shaming them, I do get the complaints that they look older than teenagers. Cartoons like Kim Possible and Totally Spies at the time had this habit and I’m glad they’re avoiding it
Yeah, I agree. While Stella particularly does look a little young, they look like people I'd see in my class. I think Netflix has just got us to believe teenagers look older then they do, and now a bunch of Redditors are complaining that they look like children.
If they are gonna make them teenagers, at least have them age in every season. I do not like them staying the same age in 3 or more season, I'm just not a big fan of that. For example, like season 1, they'll be 16. Season 2, they'll be 17. And season 3, they'll be 18. I like to see the characters grow in every season. Do you see what I mean?
One thing I do have to say is that I think it's a bit unfair to compare everything to the original. It is supposed to be different. It's a reboot. I feel like everyone is just expecting something to close to the original. It's okay if you still don't like it but I think we should look at them as seperate shows. I myself am not the biggest fan of some elements here but after Fate I am very excited to see if this can tell a good story for all audiences and bring some new fans in who can enjoy both the reboot and original.☺️👍🏻
Agreed it's not always about the look I mean we have Soo Many examples of shows that look nice but the story line is trash completely Othertimes the animation not too good but story line is So. Don't hate till you've seen it
Some thoughts on their fairy forms as I'm watching this: - Bloom looks like she's dressed up for a pop-punk rock concert or something. You put it best with that it feels simple but also too busy. - I don't like that color on Aisha and miss the green too, and the outfit overall is just forgettable. And idk what to feel about the hair, mostly cuz I can't fully tell what it's doing. - One word for Musa: Miraculous (and not in a good way) - Okay. I'm kinda liking Stella's. Her hair is good. I like her wings, as it gives both sun and the blues give moon, but I could so do without the pinks. The pinks make it too busy. I like the top a lot. It's a perfect color for her, and it feels pretty regal, which works very well for her. - Tecna is slaying too. I'm not sure how to feel about her make-up tho. It feels just a slight bit too much, idk. - I have mixed feelings about Flora's. On the one hand, she looks gorgeous and the outfit and hair are pretty. But on the other hand... I think it's the wings? Probably the colors of the wings. Also, I can't place why, but her fairy design feels like it was made by someone completely different with no knowledge on the others' designs. Not in a bad way perse, but it's just... odd. - About Farragonda's office.... help? I'm so confused looking at it, specifically the stairs and bookcases. Am I looking at an optical illusion? Is it AI generated? Or maybe I'm just too tired for this right now lmao.
Well do try to remember this is all works in progress and not official stuff. It doesn't look the greatest rn but I'm glad they showed what they're working on
@bluelazuli7606 Regarding Farragonda’s Office, I swear there was a season where Farragonda takes bloom to a bookshelf that opens up to a secret place. One season that had it had to do with Daphne, and another one was that one season that had to do with animals and those keys the winx had to get before the bad guys did, so they travel through time and dimensions ( still think Roxy should have been more involved in that season like magical animals were one of the main things in that season). But I think the staircase could lead to that room.
Interesting thing I noticed when I zoomed in on their group picture. Is that they all appear to have a smart watch on their left wrists. Stella’s is the most noticeable. So at least there’s that bit of tech they might be using as a form of every day communication or maybe they use it with their transformation.
Also I noticed that Stella has a ring on her left hand. That might be her ring that changes into her magical staff. So at least we might have that original element coming back from the earlier seasons!
Rainbow's quest to slap that cold magenta pink onto everything strikes again. 😮💨 I'm keeping my expectations low simply because I _want_ to be proven wrong. I _want_ this to start up a Winx Renaissance. I _want_ Winx to be good and camp again, oh my GOD. Tecna's finally allowed to serve, Darcy's serving from what I saw of her concepts. THOUGH, the thing that bothers me the most about the models is that their faces all look the same. I don't _hate_ this direction and thank god Flora and Aisha look like themselves again, but idk, it bothers me the most with Musa since, y'know, her eye shape was very distinct on her. Flora used to have slimmer eyes too. This is less Winx's fault and more of companies forgetting that having a consistent 3D model would make diversifying faces _EASIER_ but they just. don't do it for some reason.
How are you Thomas these days? Your videos keep me company this period of my life a little bit more than they usually do. Thank you for providing us comfort❤❤, we love u, hope u are doing well🥹🥺
Linphea does have casual transportation methods that other worlds would consider thrill seeking. She would casually go Tarzan on forested areas, if she couldn't already fly.
I can’t believe that someone at rainbow thought this was going to appeal to the new generation. There’s a missed opportunity to go back to the series’ roots and conquer the heart of a whole generation that grew up with the old winx club (and by old i mean season 1 to 4). I feel the big flop coming.
Okay now that you mention it I actually agree there’s no glam in these designs tbh they’re cute….and thats about it, its not giving memorable or just you know high fashion it’s giving “yeah its cute I guess…” vibe
I hate this rubbery 3d animation everyone is doing where every character has the same soulless face and expressions, also why do they keep putting Stella in pink in the reboot concepts ??
The outfits from the original show made you want to be a fairy and want to be in the winx club. They're not supposed to make you say 'ew gross. what are you wearing?'
For Bloom's fairy design; I think they were trying to design it more after her bloomix design because it has more of a dragon esthetic. Same with all of their wings, it looks like all of their wings are meant to look like bloomix wings. The school is probably unfinished, considering the 2 versions of the bathroom scene we've gotten. But even if it's not, I don't mind it. I personally feel that beige can feel home-y when it's paired with other colors and the roof looks like it's this pretty mint-teal color. Kinda makes me think of cream and mint-chocolate chip.
2:14 No. I’m sorry but no. If they wanted to add yellow fine, but Stella needs her orange, that yellow is not doing her any good, something in her needs to pop out more cause it’s practically blending in with her skin. They need to brighten the colors. 3:22 I think all their outfit colors just need brightening.
Flora is basically wearing Bloom's outfit from season 8 in a different colour. Surprised they didn't go with ocean waves for Aisha's wings. Not a fan of Stella's wings, particularly the light blue. Maybe a darker navy blue would work better.

It’s possible to design characters that are supposed to be teenagers but are still up to date with current trends, especially with how many aesthetics and fashion subcultures that are more well known in the 2020’s that could fit each of the winx perfectly
Exactly! When I was a kid I would watch the shows and be like "I wonna wear that!"
I cant see many little kids looking at these outfits and going "man I wonna wear low cut jeans with gym spandex underneith".

Agreed
The only one I dislike is Stella tbh
I don't mind the details in the wings, the old magic Winx designs from season 1 and 2 were too simple and I like the details
Edit: I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID, THE DESIGNS ARE TERRIBLE!!!

Oh good, I’m not the only one who recoiled at Stella being “the fairy of the shining sun”. No. The sun AND the moon. Idk what they have against the moon. It’s giving comedic relief villain that tries to destroy or steal the moon that we aren’t meant to take seriously.
Like I said before, Stella should be called "Fairy of the Shining Eclipse" to
reference both the sun and the moon. Plus, it just rolls off the tongue more.
ring/scepter of solaria erasure will forever haunt me :')
elisa did mention that nothing is final until the show actually releases so changes can still happen.
i think alfea's architecture just needs to add more art nouveau details, but i do like the structure though.
Stella wears a ring
I get the impression the reason these designs don't "feel like Winx" to fans is that Rainbow is specifically going in a different direction to attract a new audience, hence the Miraculous Ladybug vibes because like it or hate it, Ladybug was popular enough to spawn an entire media franchise.
Personally, I like the more "busy" designs because it's 3D meaning they can have that level of detail on characters that would be a pain in the ass to animate in 2D. I'm still cautiously optimistic about the reboot because who knows what could change between now and 2025.
Ooooh, that makes sense
Personally, never was a fan of "too busy."
The check for Stella wasn't big enough, so Rainbow hired a look alike
I told a friend of mine I didn't like how desaturated Stella looked, and she said "It looks like she was printed with too little ink left" and that is just the most accurate description for her current look.
If she had her proper colour scheme and her clothes were a bit more vibrant she might be able to make the look work. But this just looks like an embarrasing accident 💀
I don't understand why rainbow wants to rebrand Stella to a fairy of the shining sun so badly, I just can't 😭
I don't understand why are people mad about it
For real she is the fairy of the sun and the moon like literally her dad has the power of the sun and her mom got the power of the moon, to me they are just too lazy to be thinking about such details.
....*sighs* Thomas, you got a big storm comin ☠️
🤣😂
Am I the only one who thinks Stella looks a bit too pale for a fairy whose powers come from sunlight?
I dunno, just throwing out a thought here.
they could also got the precure route in the sense that the characters usually have a couple items that are normal things like mirrors but bc of magic they're a lot more technologically advanced & can do a lot of different things. they also make great toys for children so it's just a win-win but oh well, we'll see
Their transformation outfits are giving walmart mythix 💀
And Mythix looks better than this
I do have a theory on why the designs are the way they are: Clothing in CGI is a bitch, You probably know Thomas having done blender but rigging complicated or loose outfits is a nightmare (For those who haven't done CGI, Trust me it is a pain and getting a sym to work is an even bigger pain... and the show absolutely wont have the budget for them anyway) So that limits the creators to mostly tight fitting outfits, every dangly bit or frill or flowy bit they add is more work for the animators and that ups the budget.
3D, not cgi. Or just say digital. "CGI" is just the term the general public uses. The vfx industry and 3D animation industry don't actually use it
As muted as the clothing colors are (and I say that as a criticism because this is Winx Club we are talking about), I appreciate that we aren't whitewashing Aisha and Flora anymore. Imma need them to fix Musa's eyes because she's got the same face as Bloom right now instead of looking like her own character.
they all kinda have the same face for me tho
I’m a little sad they erased Musa’s monolid and brown eyes and kinda make her look more eurocentric
Aisha should go back to green in general. Turquoise is too close to Bloom being blue. Makes their outfit colours blend together too much.
Isn't Flora green tho?
@@TheYoungGeninSasuke She was pink until they changed her as well.

What I don't like is how unfashionable everyone looks.

1) Tecna - girl is slaying with her new cut and holographic look, lowkey looks better than her previous iteration
2) Flora - cute and stylish as always, back to having her darker skin bless
3) Aisha - loving the braids, the outfit is a little weird (seriously what’s with the cutouts?)
4) Musa - nice to see the pigtails again, but girl looks like Marinette (so much for her monolids), also not a fan of the outfit
5) Stella - girl got butchered (what is that hair?!) rip tan Stella, she may be my least favorite but she deserved better
The outfits either have wish influencer vibe or A.I. Generated.

Once again, why do the designers continue adding the unnecessary pink in their wings? Flora's all-out pink is tolerable, but the others, no!
My main issue with the transformation outfits is that they don't look interesting or new. All except Flora's look like a bad mix of JoJo Siwa and gymnasts' uniforms, which let Flora's dress seem super out of place. Also Stella's everyday outfit does not say fashionista in the slightest (I've seen outfits like that on fashionable 8-12-year-olds but not teenagers 😭😭)
I do like Tecna's normal outfit tho!
Bloom's transformation is giving JoJo Siwa

Thank God Tecna is there to save us.
Stella is supposed to be a fashionista. OG Stella would never be caught wearing what she’s wearing in the first scene.
They rlly gave stella a Roblox hairstyle 😭
It's probably is, because when they said that show will appear in 2025, they mean the end of that year
Elisa Roselli confirmed that nothing is final and what we're seeing is most likely test footage similar to the bloom trailer.

Those shows looked like teens though compared to the adults in the show. And teens just look like smaller adults overall.

Agreed it's not always about the look I mean we have Soo Many examples of shows that look nice but the story line is trash completely
Othertimes the animation not too good but story line is
So. Don't hate till you've seen it
Some thoughts on their fairy forms as I'm watching this:
- Bloom looks like she's dressed up for a pop-punk rock concert or something. You put it best with that it feels simple but also too busy.
- I don't like that color on Aisha and miss the green too, and the outfit overall is just forgettable. And idk what to feel about the hair, mostly cuz I can't fully tell what it's doing.
- One word for Musa: Miraculous (and not in a good way)
- Okay.

Regarding Farragonda’s Office, I swear there was a season where Farragonda takes bloom to a bookshelf that opens up to a secret place.
One thing about this fandom y’all gonna complain…. Chile
Rainbow's quest to slap that cold magenta pink onto everything strikes again. 😮💨
I'm keeping my expectations low simply because I _want_ to be proven wrong.
I don’t care for the others voices, but Flora’s voice yes I hope they don’t change it.
How are you Thomas these days? Your videos keep me company this period of my life a little bit more than they usually do. Thank you for providing us comfort❤❤, we love u, hope u are doing well🥹🥺
me seeing the new alfea castle for the first time: look how they massacred my boy 😭😭
I don’t like Stella’s dress colour blending with her hair she doesn’t look good I also don’t like flora’s outfit It doesn’t match her
1:59 she looks like a nice version of Chloe from miraculous ladybug
They need to hire stylist who are good with modern fashion cause some of these fits aren’t it (stella and flora)
Actually tecna and Ayesha musa look fucking awesome I am so excited!
The only person who is giving is flora and she normally doesn't
Not a single nice pair of wings in this video
Omg I litterally Just realised stella has a disgusting bright neon yellow and purple watch
Roxy is Also Coming back ❤❤❤
Tell me I’m not the only one who noticed Stella’s eyes are wider than her sunglasses
