This smaller key is known as your "RACE ON" key, a secondary emergency option. Should the need arise, you can start your bike by positioning this "RACE ON" key near a designated area on the bike, effectively serving as a backup key without the intricate electronics. The correct spot to place this key is between the left fork and the plastic fairing.
YES!! Thanks you! I thought it was a secondary key, but I didn't know the details. Your comment perfectly explains. I'm going to pin the comment. Thank you!
Great in depth review. Side by side reviews of SAS and SAR would be great, especially the suspension differences, SAS has a manual setting for the semi active and it would be nice to get a full understanding of that
It is not very complicated. You need the tech pack to do the manual adjustments, the manual setting gets added as one of the suspension modes (so sport, offroad, etc and USER) You set the compression and rebound damping as a single setting(hard - soft, about 7 levels), preload gets its own setting. The preload for the rear is a bit weird because you find it as 2 different functions with or wothout the tech pack: 1. As actual preload (w. Tech pack) 2. As "ride height(w. and w.o. tech pack)
It’s 1301 cc’s, not 1290. S model has electronic suspension and adaptive cruise control. R has 18/21 inch spoked wheels, S has 17/19 inch cast wheels. Just some main differences.
This thing is cool. It's so much more than I'd ever need, but I was so impressed with it at the same time. I've done a few KTM's in a row now, and I've always liked them, but the more time I spend digging into the details, the more impressed I am. Thanks for watching!
Really detailed review thanks. FYI, I have the 2022 model, it’s great but there are a few things, the electronic steering lock almost never works. It’s really temperamental and the KTM app isn’t great for linking to navigation. Would recommend though, it’s about 5k cheaper than the equivalent Ducati.
I'm going to do a video on "demo mode" you're not wrong, but your comment lacks some context, so I'm not really responding to you, but more just clarifying for others who may be confused by what we're talking about.
@@robertsinclair It will be tough for me to find individual comments. If you want to subscribe, I'll cover the basics on the next KTM that I review (it should happen soon) and if you need clarification then, let me know and I'll get the same bike back on video and do a specific deep dive on the entire situation using the latest bike.

Colors are even more on point than last years.
My favorite bike. I was waiting for this for a while.

the smartest engineering on this bike is the kickstand mounted to the AL engine block! How dare mate, is actually a problem
Can't wait to see the 1390 r😊
How can I buy a new /used KTM 1290 R bike and get it in Ghana 🇬🇭
I'm not sure how to help you with that.
Very good review. A lot of details. First class 🍊🍊🍊

A brilliant overview 👏👏
Does anyone know how to get the seat off if the battery is dead? With no key and seat removal being done by an electronic button.
cable for the latch under the side cover
Does the 2024 have led signals
Hi Peter, from the UK
Do the review.
What about the S model?
I talked about that in a previous video and will do a comparison of them soon.
The only thing i don't like are the Rim are not Tubeless -
At least for the 23 - Quickshifter is not available without a paid software add-on iirc it was ~400$ +/- 100$ CDN

@@PeterLoweOne I'd be interested in the context. If you remember, respond to this when you post that video and I'll check it out!

I heard this bikes smokes the Harley Davidson pan America.
In your review, you do a lot of speculating. Your opinions would be more valuable, if you did the homework before presenting your review.
It’s not a review but a walk around I guess.
If this bike had Japanese reliability I would probably have bought one. Just can't trust European.
