WUNDERBAR!!! Everyone else explain how to download the maps to be used off line. NO ONE else explains how it affects the maps while flying; but you did. SEHR SEHR WERTVOLL!!!
I have the DJI RC controller. But I was wondering if satellite view works when you are using the N1 controller with a smart phone connected to wireless towers so that that the satellite view might layer on top of the maps. Just a thought.
Is there a way to use the N1 controller AND a smart phone at the same time to look at the map? that would be kind of cool, or maybe just info overload.@@doatrip
Do the maps automatically overlap if you download several in the same area for wider coverage? Thanks for helping us all out. From Birmingham… The one in Alabama!
Thanks for the good info, but i have a question: when se go flying, the Maps downloaded appear if se are on the área? Or before we fly we most choose de map?
Have you tried it? I cannot remember that the cache will be saved in a high grade of details. I mean otherwise the Offline Maps feature would be useless.
I have a separate phone without an internet connection I use to fly with my mini 2 se and rcn1 controller. I always update any firmware before leaving home. Is there a way to get offline maps with my combination of drone and controller? I specifically use my old phone so I’m not interrupted mid flight
Yes sure, is the same way. The offline maps will be stored to your phone storage instead of the controller. The RCN1 does not have any internal storage.
Why are all the offline maps function only shown on the rc controller( with the inbuilt screen) and not the rc n1 controller where you use your mobile phone as the screen. I have the rc n1 controller with my mini 2 se and have offline maps funtion availabl but i cant use it because i cant get into my fly app unless i have data roaming and gps turned on on my phone. So am i correct in saying that anyone with the rc n1 controller offline maps wont work as you need a cellular connection to use the app. I am led tobelieve you can still fly just using the remote but then you loose a lot of the important function like find my drone if you loose sight of it or it goes down and you cant use the find my drone function.
No thats somehow strange because the way of working and the feature is still the same. Doesn't matter if using the RC, RC2, RC-N1 or RC-N2. Even on your mobile it should be possible to download map regions and areas. However it shouldn't be so critical as the smartphone normally has a working internet connection what is different with remote control.
Can you not make the region bigger? - on my one when I press yes to save the app becomes unresponsive and eventually I see a dialog that allows me to kill the app. This is on the RC2 with the latest firmware.
Feedback.
I have smart controller with sd card inserted. I download the map. Check theck the map has downloaded and it is there. Restart RC and map is gone. Tried this a few times. Is this normal?
@@doatrip Thank you for the reply. Card has more than enough space. File manager shows sd card. Settings and storage shows sd card and also default storage is sd card. But when I go into fly app, profile and then settings at 5:58 in your video. Under flight tips i have clear cache. Unlike yours which shows storage. I don't have storage anywhere in the left menu. I have done all updates. Not sure what the problem is. Maybe I will try change sd card.
Hmmm ... sounds a bit strange. Are you maybe using the RC2? I know it has issues with the MicroSD which were fixed recently with the latest firmware update.
Wieso bemängelt eigentlich niemand folgendes:::: DJI RC low-quality satellite maps.

Yes with the RC n1 connected to your phone which is connected to the internet, it works fine!

Hey there!
Yes, if you download several areas in different heights they should overlap automatically.
Thanks for the good info, but i have a question: when se go flying, the Maps downloaded appear if se are on the área? Or before we fly we most choose de map?
You are pretty welcome. When you have downloaded a certain area and you go later on to that area it is automatically loaded on your RC. 👍
satellite view is not available at the moment 16th march 2024 maybe in future updates
great video
Thanks for the update.👍🏽🙂
Don't understand why they don't set this feature online or vice versa hide the button.
It's confusing. 🤔
Thanks
Alternatively just look at it in the days before and it caches a much larger map?

Yes sure. Just insert a micro SD and the remote is automatically storing the data there. 👍
Excellent explanation
