Unity for VR / scalable / ease of use and performance is GREAT / Unreal for cinematics, reaching photorealism is easier /open world. Learn both engines because you are going to love both.
Simple answer is - no. I've been working with unity for several years now and after just 3 days playing around with unreal I can say with all honesty, unity SUCK. It is SLOW. On my laptop when I enter play mode in Unity I wait until fcking loading bar goes away while in UE it plays INSTANTLY. And it doesnt depend on how big and logic-heavy the scene, UE JUST WORKS. In Unity I can get hickups with goddamn loading bars just selecting an asset in the project window. Before trying UE I was patient and believing that it's ok to be that slow but fck that. I'm not dealing with it anymore. And I don't car how flexible Unity ables you to be if it gonna cost you in development speed. Trying UE was truly an eye-opening experience and I decided to never use Unity for my simple projects and to use Godot instead.
I’d say right now unreal is better and im a unity developer. But for me I prefer coding in c# and as a solo developer adding tons of interaction and huge levels is not something I’m looking to do, the more detail you add to your game the more detail/interaction players expect this ups the development time. This is the reason most unreal games look visually good but are very static. At the end of the day use the tool best for your project.
I hate when you dont do a proper research. Unity has its own built in blueprint option called visual scripting. Please its older than your video release date.
I dont think unreal community support, or support in general is much lower than you gave it based on my experience. Want to learn a certain thing but no tutorials. Ask quests get no reply or days later or they stop replying and they reply after someone else answer it pretending they helped. See that a lot. Also if you look something up, gorka shows up. He should be banned from tutorials. All he does is cast all of the time, which works in small project but isn't good as your project grows. Now imstead of knowing the correct way, you casting evetything. So annoying What i want to learn, i see no courses on. Probably should have went unity first
also: multiplayer is significantly easier with unreal, while unity gives more control.
Thanks, James. That’s helpful.

unity bought out bolt. Bolt is part of the platform by default, you just have to go into the package manager, and install it.
It’s no longer Bolt. It’s visual scripting. And it’s part of unity by default, since version 2021.
I camed from Unity and am on Unreal now. Totally worth the learning curve at the end.
UNITY is King
Are you sure?😅
You can compare them, but there is definitely a clear winner.
Of course there is! 😀
At the end of the video, you’ll find my winner 🥇😉
Nice video. You have pointed to very good points.

I agree 😃
That's like saying a spoon is better than a fork. They're just tools with pros and cons.

Most of the comparisons suck at researching unity so many comments say unity doesn't do xyz when it clearly does
