Exactly, the smallest amount of people ever release a game on Steam. So it's a great success if you have released one. Secondly, no user ever cares about the engine. It's all about the finished product.

Unity dominates mobile and indie gaming market. Unreal is not as optimized as unity for mobile devices, also it lacks a lot of mobile sdks.
Most of the 2d games you see are also made with unity due to better 2d support. Unreal aims for the top 3d quality which is required for bigger console/pc projects. Overall, unity has wider industry support.

5.5 UNREAL? It's barely in it's development stage. 5.4 is still too pricey for the average developer, and still too unstable. 5.3 is the last stable build of the engine and still suffers with stutter , and compatibility issues, using earlier versions of it's asset packs. (works with 4.27), but does work well in 5.3, or 5.4..... where the program may not work at all. NO one knows about 5.5. Because, it's not even on the market yet. So, I am not sure how you comparing "Unity 6" , to a product that is yet to be released. (5.5) . Stay tuned.

because working with c++ even if you know what you are doing sucks in unreal. Testing takes a tremendous time due to recompiling and the error prone systems where hot reloading especially can break your binaries so you have to recompile from scratch also the systems are not working hand in hand (enhanced input and common ui together naha watch out having any kind of common ui element visible will eat your controller button south input for enhanced input without a tremendous amount of deep dive to force the button south to be not eaten by common ui since common ui is converting the button south to a simulated left click on the curren focused common ui element nit taking into consideration that you want to have rebindable input actions) just 1 example of many. I see unreal being powerful but from time to time it more feels like publishers forcing developers to use unreal because of the graphical capabilities while performance and content quality wise better products could have been created with other engines in less time just for the sake of minor graphical quality loss. There are more than often just no real advanced unity users due to the enforcement of using unreal as soon as you get better with unity. Thats the whole reason why Unity has less double or triple a productions. From the graphics standpoint unity is just per default performance while unreal is per default quality. There are currently no huge differences in visual quality between the engines. Unreal is better in visuals but not by much.

Actually, Unity HDRP is more performant compared to Unreal's lumen. It's just a choice, Unreal has better lighting/reflection quality but it comes with a performance cost. Big companies/teams generally don't prefer Unity, but it doesn't mean you can't make AA/AAA game with Unity. Cities skylines is a good example. In terms of realistic graphics, the most important thing is to have good 3d assets with a lot of details and texture channels. It's what matters most for the both engines.

@hop3studio511 i understand your perspective. I thought the same aswell, however, I made my school project in unreal engine while using a GTX 960. I made a simple game and it ran beautifully. Although the 200k threshhold in unity is very generous, you are not really experiencing everything Unity has to offer. While, Unreal gives you everything without any upfront costs and royalty only applies to the money you make beyond the 1M mark. If you can generate a small cash flow with a simple game in unreal to fund your computer, the engine will be very rewarding.
