I'm glad I came across your channel, I have been suffering from obsessional thought since a year ago. I find that some days/periods are much better than others in terms of intensity of thoughts/reactions and I think one of the factors for me is if I'm having some change or stress going on. I haven't been to a therapist but sometimes I feel like I should. I used to have panic attacks/cry in public like about 8 months ago but now I can contain myself and it doesn't look like I'm distressed. I am intrigued, does telling someone the exact thought you have really make it better? It makes me feel good that you're improving, as this is no easy thing to deal with.
Telling someone your intrusive thoughts can be scary, but I've found letting it out feels like such a relief. And telling someone your thoughts will take away power from the thoughts and acts as an exposure to them, so it will decrease your anxiety in the long run if you continue to do these exposure exersizes. It sounds weird, but it gets easier every time I talk about them. So yes, it does make it better. I'm glad you're doing better too. If you'd like more help with your thoughts I'd definitely suggest seeing a therapist. An OCD specialist if you have or suspect you have OCD, but if not see a specialist in your disorder. Thanks for your comment. :) It does get better! Stay strong.
+ShalomAleichem Thanks, have you told someone besides your therapist? How did your therapist begin the process? Do they jump straight to you telling him/her your thoughts? One time I mentioned some I had to my mother (not much in detail) but it's quite awkward because it has to do with someone in my family. What do you think causes OCD obsessions (not physical causes) Is it some sort of trauma? I am thinking of going to an OCD meet group where I can interact with people in person who have similar experiences, I feel that could help a lot. Do you deal with somatic symptoms caused by your thoughts? I sometimes feel like "tingly" or stiffness on my upper-back or if I'm in the middle of a thought if someone talks to me I sometimes snap back at them because of the anxiety :(
Hello I'm glad you're doing better! If you don't mind: I have a video idea. I don't think you've made a video about real event OCD (obsessing over something that happened in the past). I think it could be helpful!
Thank you dear! I'm glad my videos come at the right time for you! I thought this one was late haha. It was a very good pie! I've had better though. :P
Hey Kat well done you. Have you tried Mark Freemans online course yet? he has some really helpful tips on there and has such a brilliant way of putting things. I am completely dedicated to meditation now off the back of it and find it so incredibly helpful.
Yeah! I agree. I really think you should look into ACT. I suffered from pure O, social anxiety and generalized anxiety and honestly I'm doing great. I'm recognizing all the stuff in my head as just stuff in my head. I don't really reconfirm it either like "that's a thought that's a thought" bc I accidentally made it a ritual. But then I just begun to see it all the same. I didn't try to reconfirm what it was, it's clouds it's just stuff. I'm doing that with alllllll my thoughts/stuff in my head tbh and I realized I don't need my "thinking" as much as I thought. Just let the waves run in with zero reactions. Definitely would say I'm on the road to recovery bc I'm no longer really going backwards. I really think you'd love it Kat!

+Thanie Thank you. :)
Do u think the more u do exposure the more your anixety gets better !?
+Thanie 100% yes! That's the whole point of exposure therapy! The more you expose yourself to the fear, the less anxiety you will have.
Got it ❤️
hi thanks for this video! ☺
Thanks your video help, keep it up
