125ccm is perfect today and not only for beginners or young people. I am nearly 30 and I don't need a big bike. A 125ccm is fast enough, has the same driving feelings and the top speed is more than enough. I live in germany and 130 km/h is the highest possible speed. Instead of the speed free zones. So the 125ccm is cheap and has a low fuel consumption. Perfect for me.
Personally I would love to have more. Especially in Germany where speeds on the urban roads between villages are even 100 km/h where I would think 80 km/h is more than enough. 125cc is fast enough speed wise but you also want torque to pull out of situations you don't want to get in to. If you open the throttle at 100 km/h on a 125cc it does not do much. If you do the same on a 600cc bike it will speed up fast.
best thing about small bikes is that they are 1. nimble 2. more mileage 3. we can mainstand them much easily 4. least prone to accidents 5. low price and low maintenance and low insurance 6. all i dont remember right now
not sure if it is least prone to accidents as on a more powerful bike you can open the throttle and get out of a bad situation. But overall small bikes are great for a lot of things. That is why I own a 155cc next to my 650cc.
Astonishing... I do remember the times when I was 16 and just happy to have the A1 licence in my hands. The ensuing 2 years, I would have to ride a 125cc bike restricted to Vmax 80 kph. At the age of 18, A1 drivers in Germany were allowed to ride unrestricted 125 bikes. However, I can't remember any 125 motocycle in the late 1990s which would have made 130 or 140 kph. I envy you... Nevertheless, I like the A2 class better. Not that I cared about top speed - I don't either want or need to go 170 kph or even faster - but on a (what I consider) middle-size bike, riding 130 or 140 kph is more relaxing and maybe enjoyable as you don't need to squeeze and push the engine to its utter Limit - or even beyond.
The full powered 2 stroke 125's could easily pass 140km/h, but those had 30 hp. A2 class is good But if a bike can go up to 170-180km/h, most of the times you know you can ride 120 km/h without any problems for a longer period of time. The bigger the engine the lower the revs and the better the engine can keep up. That is why I still ride my ER-6N instead of a Z400. My ER-6N does 120-130km/h with more ease than a Z400.

I absolutely love the small displacement bikes. I own a Kawasaki z125. I wish all the manufacturers would bring their small displacement bikes to the US. I'd buy them all 😁
You can always do a little bit of grey import. ;) But that will cost a lot of money and lack of parts in the US, so takes longer and is more expensive. But the US still has bikes we don't have in Europe anymore.. like the Suzuki DR650SE. And probably still the Honda XR650L?

No, I did not do the GPS check riding the Suzuki. Suzuki is cheaper as it has no slipperclutch and not that slick dashboard. ;) But the Suzuki engine felt powerful too. The price of the Yamaha is insane, but it really is a premium product.
Completely street legal. It does have a full system Akrapovic exhaust and a double bubble windscreen, but the full system exhaust should not make that much of a difference as it is a 4 stroke bike.
My old 2015 honda cbr 125 would on occasion smash past 90mph and I once had 97 on it. It was slightly downhill but it was so much fun. Love smaller bikes like this
YZF-R125 is 6299 EUR over here. That Fantic is expensive! And I wonder if the engine is Italian or Chinese, as for the Fantic Caballero 250 they use a Zongshen engine. If so, the Fantic ain't worth it at all. Anyway, what 16 or 18 year old has 6000 EUR? I didn't! But then again I was able to ride a 500cc bike when I got my license when I was 19 years old. But that was a second hand bike for about 3000 EUR. And I even had to borrow money for that at that time. Now I only buy a bike when I have the cash for it.
I mean my 125's top speed is 190 and it accelerates 0-100kmh at a bit above 5 sec but i mean its 2 stroke and has been tuned to the max thought about getting 140cc italkit after my bday:) the bike is aprilia rs 125 2008
I still rather riding a 2 Stroke with a top speed of about 170kmh even if it cause more problems and a bad gas mileage. But everyone has a different opinion :D
Well, if you have a European A1 license you are not allowed to ride a 2 stroke that has around 30 hp. You are stuck to 15 hp whether is is 2 stroke or 4 stroke.
R15 v3 should be faster than 146 km/h but it all depends on the right conditions. R125 looks the same as R15, but the big difference is the cockpit. On the R125 it looks a lot better.
Hello, guys: 131 km/h is quite well for a 4 stroke 125 cc sports bike, but… have you ever tried an italian 2 stroke 125 cc of the earliest 90's? This could be the max speed in 5th gear, but you have another two (Cagiva Freccia C12 and Mito had seven speeds). It was another world...
@@MotoSnax ok lets calculate from assumptions: so we'll do this in kilometres per imperial gallon (KMPG) which is 4.5 litres, then convert to miles per gallon 1 litre per 25-28km, so lets round that to 1 litre per 26 km 1litre x 4.5 = 1 gallon 4.5 x 26 = assumed distance on 1 gallon = 117 km so we are looking at a mileage of 117 kmpg mpg would be 117 divided by 1.6, which is 73 miles per gallon which, compared to cars motorway driving, is very efficient. now lets see how long you could go on 1 full tank the capacity of the tank is 11.5 litres, or 2.5 gallons. so in km you could go about 300km on 1 tank of fuel without switching to reserve. in miles you could go 182 miles on 1 tank without switching to reserve... ... theoretically in case you couldnt tell by me writing all this out, i was very bored and wanted to do something that requires me to think.
Enjoy your ride! :) 140km/h only in ideal conditions. If you have a lot of head wind it won't make it of course. Still it is one of the fastest A1 bikes out there.

Daar doe ik het voor. Hoewel jij vast wel een keer het gas open gooit. :) 131km/u op GPS kan je nog steeds legaal rijden op snelwege waar je 130 mag rijden.
It does has got that! And the fairing does help on the freeway. Other than that, the MT-125 is more comfortable. You are young so that won't matter. I am 39 years old, so I like to have a little bit more comfort. LOL. :D

130gps for 125cc. 145gps for 155vva southeast asian market. Damn. Not bad yamaha. Fastest 4stroke 125cc bike i think.
Best 125cc motocycle
It probably is. And the most expensive 125cc bike. ;)
@@MotoSnax Here its far away from being the most expensive, here we have a fantic casa 125 which is 6500€ new
And thats just the 4 stroke 125cc.

YAMAHA YZF R125CC TOP SPEED 140KM/HOURS...NOT BAD
I mean my 125's top speed is 190 and it accelerates 0-100kmh at a bit above 5 sec but i mean its 2 stroke and has been tuned to the max thought about getting 140cc italkit after my bday:) the bike is aprilia rs 125 2008
Super sir
Thanks for watching. :)
@@MotoSnax I know I live in Germany but I still rode it fully derestricted. Now I have my A2 license
2 strioke engine: Bad gas mileage, when the others don't need to refill the tank and I need to refuel during a tour, my pride is destroyed.
Still can't beat 125zr
R125 140kmph, in Indonesia R15 (150cc) +- 146kmph.
@S A N J E E V R A O r15 and r125 has same design
In India r15 v3 top speed 159 kmh
R15 v3 should be faster than 146 km/h but it all depends on the right conditions. R125 looks the same as R15, but the big difference is the cockpit. On the R125 it looks a lot better.
@@MotoSnax yeah i agree
What is name of display in yamaha R125
I don't understand your question.
It's sound and look
Is similar as
R15 v3
Yes, just a smaller cylinder for the European A1 license.
but still the dash say 155 at startup😅
Hello, guys: 131 km/h is quite well for a 4 stroke 125 cc sports bike, but… have you ever tried an italian 2 stroke 125 cc of the earliest 90's?
This could be the max speed in 5th gear, but you have another two (Cagiva Freccia C12 and Mito had seven speeds). It was another world...
Those were the days. Now we have more emission laws.
Used to own a 2 stroken cagiva Mito... That thing was a beast
the 2019 yzf-r125 looks extremely alike the yzf-r15 v3
Well it's using the same chasis what do you expect?
The dashboard on the 125 looks a lot better than the one on the R15 v3. The rest is the same, except for the smaller engine of course.
@@MotoSnax it's the same dash except the color is inverted
@@hurtjuice8128 Uh.. no. Compare them. It is not just inverted.
How fuel efficient is it when pinned at motorway speeds like this? Thanks for uploading
Not efficient of course. ;) I have no idea what it would be.. probably somewhere around 1 liter per 25-28km or so.
@@MotoSnax ok lets calculate from assumptions:
so we'll do this in kilometres per imperial gallon (KMPG) which is 4.5 litres, then convert to miles per gallon
1 litre per 25-28km, so lets round that to 1 litre per 26 km
1litre x 4.5 = 1 gallon
4.5 x 26 = assumed distance on 1 gallon = 117 km
so we are looking at a mileage of 117 kmpg
mpg would be 117 divided by 1.6, which is 73 miles per gallon which, compared to cars motorway driving, is very efficient.
now lets see how long you could go on 1 full tank
the capacity of the tank is 11.5 litres, or 2.5 gallons.
so in km you could go about 300km on 1 tank of fuel without switching to reserve.
in miles you could go 182 miles on 1 tank without switching to reserve...
... theoretically
in case you couldnt tell by me writing all this out, i was very bored and wanted to do something that requires me to think.
I get 169.5 mpg average and ride 15 mile to work and 15 back a day and also use dual carriageway 15 minutes of the journey
Got my r125 2019 in white not long ago, haven't tried top speed yet, gonna try to get the 140 km/h soon tho lol :D
Enjoy your ride! :) 140km/h only in ideal conditions. If you have a lot of head wind it won't make it of course. Still it is one of the fastest A1 bikes out there.
I have also a white one !! I am in love !! It is really nice😍😍😍 Greetings
I got my r125 2019 in early April and I really recommend getting done with the breaking in part and 1000km yamaha service first if you haven't already.
@@MotoSnax and my rs4 50 went gps 110kmh ;)
@Aruu The RS4 50cc is still 2 stroke instead of 4 stroke, right? That explains the high top speed.

Wich one should i take to drive to my school (50 km drive) the MT 125 or the YZF-R125?
I'd take the MT125, but that is because the YZF-R's seating position is quite sporty.
MotoSnax the YZF-R sure got the looks tho
It does has got that! And the fairing does help on the freeway. Other than that, the MT-125 is more comfortable. You are young so that won't matter. I am 39 years old, so I like to have a little bit more comfort. LOL. :D

Impressive my friend, me on my 115 cc moped😮
Nice video love the black speedometer wish i had it on my r15 v3. 140 is an amazing achievement. My bike didnt do that much lol as of now. Where did you got that black visor?
That is an official windshield from the Yamaha website/webshop over here.

Yeah it is not too bad, but the Akrapovic full system exhaust is rather expensive. I sure would not have the money for it if I was still 18 years old (or 16 in some countries).
I have a MT full options Akrapovic.

Nice top speed for the MT! I was unable to reach that with the 2020 (VVA) model.
@@MotoSnax hello, unfortunately there is less torque and the 15 HP arrives later, 10000 RPM. There is also the gear ratio and the wider tire. I think it all takes a bit of a drag.

How much the mileage of Yamaha R125 ?
I have no idea. Probably between 1 liter per 30-35km.
You know most helmets fit very good in the bulge of the windscreen. If you'd duck as low as possible you could easily go 5-10km/h more.
Oh I did duck but the camera FOV would make you think otherwise.
What bike did you like the most, this yzf or a mt 125?
I like a more comfortable seat so that would be the MT-125. I am not 18 years old anymore. :)
in Indonesia this motorbike is called Yamaha R15 with a 155 cc VVA engine and 19 hp power, top speed of up to 156 km/h...
but for a 125 cc engine the speed of 140 km/h is very good 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻...
