I was lucky enough to take a trip to Barcelona to test ride the latest 125ccs from Yamaha.
On the trip, I got to sample the R125 and the MT125.
This video focuses on the R125 and the many features it has!!
    I hope you enjoy it!

The old 2-stroke Aprilia RS125 was an animal. When derestricted delivered around 33bhp. That’s got to hold the crown.

I agree, but a different animal. You can't compare cc of a 2 stroke to a 4 stroke. Literally twice the amount of power strokes. I miss the 2 strokes but the emissions regs killed them unfortunately.

The R125 is a great starter sports bike. It’s what I learned on. No mess and solid little unit with good spec and tech for novices. No complaints whatsoever. I took the decal badge off and when I used to tell people it was a 125 if they asked then a lot of them didn’t believe it.
BTW I think the R7 is inspired by the 125, (which was inspired by the R1), not the other way round.

Brilliant work as usual Kate!!! Great attention to detail. As a 2020 R3 owner that i daily ride here in the states, I really appreciate that our European counterparts view these small displacement machines as serious utilitarian tools rather than little toys to be played with on weekends. These bikes are cheap to run and they get you to work in a zippy fashion. We Americans need to take some pages out of the European playbook when it comes to this sort of stuff if we are to survive these current times. Cheers!!! 😉

I always used to think I was a Kawasaki fanboi - always dreamed of getting myself a Z900, and what did I end up with? XSR900 2017 Abarth. It was love at first sight. I was the second owner, so the previous owner had customised it somewhat, making it look more, for want of a better description, 'street thug'. Three years later and my PCP is coming to the end, and sadly I have to let her go as there's no way I can afford the balloon payment. I'm going to miss the burbling and rumbling exhaust note as I roll off the throttle, and the warmth it gives me when I roll her onto the drive and look back at her as I lock up my garage. It's nothing unusual for me to spend three or more hours cleaning her and polishing up every engine bolt so they gleam in the sunshine. I'll be honest and admit, she is a bit of a head turner as it's rare to see one of these bikes around where I live. We've looked after each other, and now it's time for someone else to experience the joys of riding an XSR900.
Will I get another bike? I like to think so. In an ideal world I'd be happy to keep the XSR, but we don't live in an ideal world, but reality, and everything has a time of being and a time of going. I do like the in-line fours, so maybe, one day, I'll have a look. I just hope I never see my XSR9 ride past me, as I know it would break my heart.

    • @UsernameKate
      @UsernameKate  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hey Samian, just a thought.. if you really want to keep it, is it not worth looking into financing the balloon payment but on a Hire Purchase basis (so you own it at the end). I've had it on PCP now for three years, and it did occur to me to maybe part-ex, then at least that way I still get to ride a bike, and locally a dealership has a Honda (2022) CB1000R Black edition for sale. I test rode one before, and by comparison, it's engine was so quiet I thought my hearing had gone funny. Either way, whatever I decide to do will be the right decision. @@chrishart8548 this is insane also its true and it allows those who Barely have a licence to experience the "sport bike feel" and get the astetics of one. I personally don't feel that cbt should allow people to ride bikes (you don't even need a theory) this is dangerous.
I dont know if you're in the U.K but these food delivery riders and just those on cbt ride sooo dangerously and lack of skill and understanding is apparent. Example even thier filtering and slow speed manoeuvres they hang thier legs and wobble while trying to get through gaps. Also if there's a full licence rider and a cbt rider the cbt rider will only take the gap once they see the full licence owner do it and then follow thier line through the traffic I see this a lot also.
I genuinely don't respect moped riders I don't acknowledge them.
I see them as bike license rejects.

Nothing wrong at all with modern 125s but over 5k for any 125 is taking the piss. Very few 17 year olds have that kind of money to drop on their first bike, and most riders with more experience and more licence privileges than just a CBT and more disposable income would probably overlook it in favour of an RC390, or maybe a cheap CBR600. Not denying it's a good bike but based on price alone, this bike belongs nowhere.

2019 Model is way better IMO.. if your interested in a YZFR125 go Save yourself some money and buy one secondhand Gen3 2019 model with around 2k miles on the Tank. Buy a custom numberplate and put in a few mods such as:
    *Avapok exhaust
    *Brambo breaks
    *Öhlins suspension
    *NGK spark plugs
    *Pirrelli performance Tyres
*wack in some Motul performance OIL.
*Then get it customised wrapped and wack on a few stickers 😊
And get it Tuned at a garage.
and you got yourself a BadA** 125cc that can outperform a 300cc's on Track day that would be cheeper then the 2023 version and looks, Sounds and feels way better then the 2023 model.
