    I bought a LG G4 after much debating since the Spring last month and couldn’t be happier. In my opinion it’s the best overall tv in the market. Samsung was my 3rd choice but I own another Lg oled that’s been great for 3 years and still looks great. Either brand you can’t go wrong with.

    We got a 65" S90D that fits our fireplace media center perfectly on black friday for $1399. It has an amazing picture after tuning the settings bit. I wish sports like football were sharper but it is what it is. We went from a older Samsung 50" LCD to this and besides 1080p sports content being relatively the same but on a larger panel the 4KHDR content is jaw dropping.

    I have two reasons for being interested in LG OLED: a) Dolby Vision b) IMAX enhanced
    I'm not a fan of Dolby Vision, in fact, I'm not a fan of any type of HDR, but ultimately movies, TV series and games are presented to us in this way and most companies prefer Dolby Vision. I'm worried that I'll see an incompatibility when I watch the same content on a SAMSUNG TV.

    • @TechnoDad

      There’s always a base layer of HDR10, so the content will display that instead of Dolby Vision.

  • @stylefreaks

    The Samsung one is a good oled tv and brighter than the C4 and on a paper maybe better. But for OLED, I prefer glossy screen and besides that, the C4 is bright enough for me. Sometimes even too bright, so I have to turn down the brightness. No DV, no Dolby Atmos on the Samsung...Also I do have midrange Samsung QLED as well and I think the LG OS is better than then new Tizen OS..Some reviewer also claim that Samsung QD OLED will eventually develop a burn in faster than the LG C series TV, but that is really subjective.

  • @joaquinbarreto9398

    Processing on those QDOLEDS just isn’t where they should be yet. Better panel sure but not better hardware and at then end of the day that’s really what you need to get the whole package. Sony A95L motion is lacking and the Samsung panels looks 2d vs 3D on the LG and Sony.

      @VNRPro หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I bought a 55 inch Mitsubishi TV back in 2010. As of today it still operates perfectly and is just as bright as the day I brought it home. Everyone I know has had to buy a new TV every 3 to 4 years because the new ones are designed to fail. Plus new TV's are another avenue of harvesting your viewing habits that you don't get compensated for. I'm going to hang on to my old TV until it finally fizzles out and dies. Who knows how long that will be.

    My biggest problem with Samsung is their updates!!!
    They downgrade your tv!
    Have seen this with my Q9FN and now with the s90!
    People should start a class action lawsuit against them.
    Everytime they have a newer flagship, they bring out a new firmware that downgrades the older tv model.
    So for that, I'll never buy a Samsumg again or just turn off internet completely.

I run a 120” and 100” and, ironically, the 100” is in the home cinema. I don’t want to spend 5-6 thousand dollars on a projector to push 100”- I would just buy a 98” TV- but the mid range $2000-3000 choices have disappeared. Nuts right now.

    • @TechnoDad

      I was going to go with a PJ/Screen combo, but it would have cost at lease $8K for something native 4K and half way decent, even with my connections. I would have also gone with a scope screen at 133” diagonal. Then installation would also be a PITA. So…I went 77” OLED.

    • @sage11x
      @sage11x หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TechnoDad the installation is not bad once you’re used to it. I used to move a lot and I would have my HT up and running in half a day. Most projectors have decent zoom/lens shift these days and aren’t too heavy. Screen is a breeze. Don’t listen to the hype: you don’t need native 4K. Most 4K pixel shift DLPs I’ve seen are sharper than the sub 10K Sony/JVCs and Epson isn’t too far behind those guys either. The big problem right now is contrast. The three best performing projectors for contrast under $4000 right now are a 1080p BenQ DLP (HT2060), a 4K short throw BenQ DLP for gaming (X500i) and the very old LAMP based Epson 5050UB. And that’s your list. Want better you gotta got $5000-$6000 for a Sony/JVC.

      The S95D was always brighter.
      The panels (EU Version) are different.
      I bet you saw Quantums video 😂- i´m still nor sure if there is really a change in brightness and contrast after FW 1201.
      The S90D is a great TV and better than any WOLED panel.
      Even after a potential "nerfed" update.

    Samsung finally gave in to doing OLED TVs and then just continued their stupidity by trying to carry on with HDR10+ when everything uses Dolby Vision ... Until they do a TV worth buying, it's just a bit of a waste of money and not future proofed at all

    People in the comments obssesed with dolby vision😂 . Listen the difference between dolby vission and hdr10 is virtuly indistinguishable and not always better it just diffrent sometimes. Also if you buy your movies from apple they are hdr10+ as well as dolby vision which is even more indistinguishable. A bigger diffrence is qd oled vs reg oled. A qd oled with hdr10 looks way better than non qd oled (like c4) with dolby vision. Qd oled has a way wider colour gam. dolby vision is overhyped. Also you cant add dolby vision to samsung tvs. Samsungs version is hdr10+ which is 10 bit (which all tv pannels are) dolby vision is 12 bit but no consumer tvs are 12bit anyway. Why do you think reviewer have rated the samsung s90 and s95 series for so many years if they were lacking by not having dolby vision.
