They should add this theme as an easter egg in HD2 where it has like 5% chance of playing instead of HD2's version.
If they add this theme it should only play when you extract from a mission on super earth
They probably don't have rights to this music, to be used twice. Otherwise why leave it out

The new music - at least on 1-3 bugs - is not great. Weirdly, they've gone for almost a horror-game, sort of Aliens vibe, with lots of shrill violin. The extraction music is alright but not as good as this gem.

Dude I had no idea how epic the soundtrack of Helldivers 1 is.
If ever at any point during the galactic war Super Earth ends up being invaded and we have to deploy directly ON Super Earth, I really hope they'll incorporate some of the first game's music.

the minute and a half wait until the shuttle arrives has to be the most stressful, adrenaline inducing, dopamine releasing battle I've ever experienced.
Especially on the hardest difficulties, where you have literal hordes of enemies appear out of nowhere.
Unless you use distraction beacon, smoke, and slowing fields, then it turns into killing 20ish scouts then hopping into the shuttle. Lol

I generally feel that H1 was more of a niche hardcore game that created a loyal fanbase, whereas H2 is (for what it looks now) a more mainstream game targeted at wider audience. I can only hope H2 will be able to leave a lasting impact the way H1 did - at least among us, the loyal fans.
Id have to argue, in the current state, HD2 is much more hardcore than HD1 is. Chargers and Stalkers are much more oppressive. If only due to the fact of limited Crowd Control and personal defensive options. Also the addition of stims over regen health. If HD2 introduces stronger CC in the future, then Id say they should be on par. Rumbler, Trident, TOX13, etc made a lot of difficulties trivial.

It does leave a lasting impression. The Helldivers chaos is still there, but the music is just so Mid compared to the awesome composition of HD1
That being said could i bother you with uploading long versions of the boss themes and lvl 9 faction them so I can play Helldivers 2 while listening to Helldivers 1? 😅
They are both hardcore, but HD2 became more popular because it looks better

You arrive and call the shuttle while being chased by 4 tanks and a horde of mechs, you no longer have the option to run so you ready your scythe and the others load their last mag. You and the others call in every single stratagem to buy some time and take out a few of the tanks but more patrols keep arriving. You kill dozens of enemies while barely staying alive. And finally with 2 people left you sacrifice your own life to let the final member live. Leaving a missile stratagem to avenge his fallen brothers.

I found the reason why this one is better: in HD2 music is completely procedural and generates itself based off how many active enemies there are. Which is good, but.. this one only plays when there are enemies on-screen. (which means pretty close). Music stops whenever there are no enemies in HD1, and only plays during the epic moments.

I remember the trailers for the original game, seeing mechs i was sold.
I've played it pretty much since launch. Don't remember the trailers, but I remember how they added various packs one after another, increased level cap, etc.

Sorry dude. It has been a very long time since I played Helldivers 1. I thought those were automatons in that game but I guess not. So maybe both the Illuminate & the Cyborgs could be added to Helldivers 2!

It’s always the best when you’re team finally gets a foothold with the shuttle arriving. The enemy is everywhere, but you load up your upgraded LMG and your other team starts to call in defense and support stratagems. Then the waves come in on all sides but you begin to give ‘em hell with all you got. This is why I love this game.
Best is when it seems hopeless. You're surrounded but then 2 bunker busters a railcannon strike and strafing run appears. You load your last mag in your Justice and ready the dum-dum.
And then the shuttle lands on one of your squadmates.
Shame this theme didnt come back in helldivers 2

It's more an Oceania 1984 on crack, where as Helldivers 1 is a fully heroic loaded piece of art
If Helldivers 2 ain't getting the Helldivers 1 tracks it will will never be better than Helldivers 1
