It says something that if one should leave the definition of "true believer" up to a number of professed "true believers", then there's going to be no true believers anywhere in the world because every true believer has their own list of what parts of the bible they pay attention to, and those they ignore.

Yes, they borrowed from Mesopotamian lore to "improve" the moses narrative. Mesopotamian Canaanites have a right to be influenced by Mesopotamian culture and folklore. That's not a ripoff. Better yet...take a basic course in the history of the world's religions. Humans were making up all sorts of stories about the birth and death of various gods. Several religions' stories have been 'borrowed' from other religions. Study the history of Zoroastrianism. That's where we got the idea of lives after death.

Can I ask why the Giants had to be killed when the Jewish escaped their slavery? I never understood. This is an old conversation, but I am curios. To me, the next time someone wants you to kill for God, you might use this story to convince others to kill in God's name. Could this be accurate based off the concerns to kill Giants to take the land? Why did these Giants deserve to die? Because didn't like them? Jewish folks in that time didn't need to know more than just kill Giants for land, don't be discouraged or dare disobey? I never understood this looking at the 'Green Giant' wondering about world hunger and why Giants would need to die. Also, child are into stories of Giants. IDK.

To know God truly - in so far as this is possible - is incomparably superior to the philosophy of the Greeks, and simply to know what place man has in relation to God surpasses all their wisdom. For man alone among all terrestrial and celestial beings is created in the image of his Maker, so that he might look to God and love Him and be an initiate and worshipper of God alone, and so that he might preserve his own beauty by his faith in God and his devotion and affection towards Him, and might know that whatever is found on earth and in the
heavens is inferior to himself and is completely void of intelligence.
