Hi Jessy. I have the brushing and cleaning of mica down pat now. My issue is with firing. I am finding the glass (cap) has bubbles where the mica is - I only make pendants. Do you have any suggestions for a firing schedule. Would be greatly appreciated as there is very little regarding mica firing on line. Many thanks
Thank you, Frank! No you don't have to cap it for the mica to stay on. In fact, if you want to cap it, fire first and brush off any excess mica before capping or it will create a pocket.
I carry it here in my shop in Oregon. You can also buy it online: www.amazon.com/Jacquard-Pearl-EX-Set-3/dp/B000BGSZCS/ref=sr_1_21?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1540477988&sr=1-21&keywords=mica+powder
Not all micas are alike. Many of them are colored with a coloring agent that burns off during firing. I get mine from D&L Art Glass. I haven't had time to do more classes on line but it is something I hope to do shortly. Thank you for asking!
Good instructions and this project sounds fun and like something I'd not only like to do, but could do! Thanks Jessy.
Thank you
Do you have to use mica powder? Would powdered enamels work?

I suspect the mica is not food safe and it would have to be capped. Correct?
What kink of glass are you using 90,96 what id compatible?

I wear hearing aids- I did not understand what you said about the mica- where do you get it from?

Not all micas are the same. Some will lose their color.

Thank you for sharing. Is there a specific brush you use as I find when brushing the mica off can't get it clean. Regards from Oz
