I think it can be very intimidating for women who want to enter the trade so it is important to be open minded and welcoming. I do see more women entering the trade but a lot still do not finish their apprenticeships. Personally, I found it difficult for homeowners/companies to trust me and I even found that management thought I couldn’t do my job so then I started to believe that too.
I think it starts with schools need to help promote the trades to all young adults and not just try pushing universities. I think we have issues with smaller companies and the heads of those companies who have outdated mindsets when it comes to women in the trade. There are huge skill shortages, and we need people from all walks of life to join
