    I was watching your last video for an engine removal, as i’m about to replace my engine on my 1st gen r6. welllll, that was because my lower crankcase cover has a crack in it. i didn’t want to take apart rebuild the entire top end to get it done, but basically, you accidentally just told me that i can fix my crank without all the work i thought initially. thank you so much 👊

      That’s great, always good when the job is easier than expected. Best of luck.

    Very happy to have stumbled onto this channel. I have the same bike. Same year. 5k miles. So much great content in the few vids I’ve watched related to the r6.

      Bobby Campbell nice of you, thanks! I’m always working on different things so hopefully you find my content interesting. This R6 has been a heck of a road to travel, wasn’t expecting to remove an engine!

      I was happy to see you split the case to find out the failure. I was really surprised to see a main bearing go. Makes me curious what oil starved it.

      Bobby Campbell I was just too curious, I had to know what was causing the noise. I have never had a bearing noise be inconsistent like that. I wonder if the bike was crashed and ran on it’s side for a while? There’s supposed to be a cutoff switch so that doesn’t happen but I imagine that they could fail.

    I had a piece of metal strip off the washer on the clutch

    • @TomsTinkeringandAdventures
      @TomsTinkeringandAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did it destroy your engine?

    • @justblazenone
      @justblazenone 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TomsTinkeringandAdventures it left impressions in the oil pump but not bad enough to cause major damage. Still wondering what caused the washer to be able to spin free even though the nut was in place and tightened.
