I'm working at a factory and already 70% is robots, they've let go alot of people just for the robots
70%?!! Wow
The kind of scummy business owners that are willing to do that...
It was really cool to see your childhood skate spot.
Thanks for taking us along, Jake!
Was hoping he'd take a peek inside and tell us stories.
Hate to admit but this is the first vid I've caught in awhile Jake. BUT still have that adhd squirrel vib that makes you soooo entertaining, AI can't duplicate that brother.
It’s so great to see you still doing what you love. I used to watch your videos every day back when I was just a young teen. I’m now 27, and I still check in on your channel. Keep doing your thing man! ❤
Hey Jake just gotta say thanks to your bar changing videos for the mt07 and the crf I was able to change mine after a gnarly crash back in November so thank you so much for it much love from the uk ❤️
Glad it helped. Hope your ok!
@@TheGardenSnake fully healed now but messed my knee up pretty badly and split my chin wide open, hope you and your loved ones are doing well ❤️
I watched your videos like 5 years ago, i recently tried to find you again because i really liked your build series, but couldnt, because the only thing i remembered was your song "the new motorcycles, cost too much, so lalala" to the tune of "Pretty Fly". Now you suddenly popped up in my recommended, and I'm so happy i found you again 🤠
Currently a diesel bus mechanic for my local transit authority.
I can’t see anything but man doing this work for a good amount of time. Even for our electric fleet.
May takeover the “diagnostics” side of it though
Im an hvac tech. I can image robots in the factories, but technicians and mechanics will always be there. Im not sure if a robot will be good at problem solving etz.
I think it will be some time before a robot can do the work of a technician or other skilled labor jobs. But eventually I think it will happen. But that’s probably gonna be one of the last jobs to go.
Dang you posted that weeks before the video was out lol
AI cannot invent. AI cannot innovate. AI cannot discover. AI cannot desire variety, color, beauty, uniqueness. AI is the toilet drain of fixed programming rules that comply with whatever the programmers motives were: money, control, power, predictability, an Orwellian mental asylum without human rights.
I mean, if all the jobs stop... profit stops. Then we start over.
Problem is possibly that the big reset will only come to be after Millions of people are so far into poverty that a reset might be too late.
I’m a wastewater treatment plant operator. It will be quite some time before we get replaced by AI.
Jake talking about robots taking away jobs, also jake: "see cashier??? Go f**k yourself" 10:45
Haha yeah I don’t wanna talk to a person. I’ll deal with pump computer! 😂
We bought a cfmoto450ss and love it. Way better then any other 450cc or so sport bike/beginner bike. I'm no beginner 30+ years. I've had stupid fast bikes and this is just as fun as any bike I've owned. I'll buy another. I'm looking forward to the V4 they are making
It’s a fun bike for sure. I had an R1 at one time and I like things like the 450 more haha.
This world is going to turn into real life Idiocracy
It has already been in this state for a long long time
Regarding entertainment, there's something that fake cannot replace what the real offers. There's a reason some of us much much prefer stories that are real and that actually happened over the most wild and "perfect" fiction story.
There are also some jobs that just cannot be fully replaced with a robot. Not for a super super long time, at least.
I’m a maintenance tech. In commercial real estate I think my job is safe….
Ai is taking lots of tech sector jobs but much quicker than robots are taking labor jobs. Especially skilled trade.
Wow.. look at you, making me fell all warm and fuzzy...🤖
As long as you make videos I will watch 😂
They took yoer herb!???😂
Pretty sure I saw you recording this. Bike looked good.
As an employer, I would totally be interested in robots if they weren’t so expensive. The biggest problem running a business is the employees. It didn’t use to be that way but it is now.
Yeah that's what I hear a lot. Tech exsits but it being profitable is another thing
11:03 in Florida no signal is required for a "merge!" Just something I learned and you're in TX but regardless he just slipped in there like a _______ etc. Nice to see a good old school motovlog! CF Moto seems to be standing up to challenge so far. Also nice comments on AI and the future of commerce. Cheers from Tampa Bay 🌴 P.S. The Expanse is also books
I’ve heard the books are great. I should look into them.
In Texas I was taught that a signal is not required in a situation where a driver has to turn. But I'm not sure if that applies here.
Here in Germany you are only not required to signal when you drive straight on your lane. If you swap lanes you need to signal, if the main road goes towards a junction but curves off to the left or right (instead of straight) you need to signal as well.@@pleasedontwatchthese9593
I robot had a scene like that and he got flamed for being in manual drive mode when attacked, or in manual drive mode while on the phone if anyone remembers that movie and then the bike he had he got flamed for that too! "Please tell me this doesnt run on gas! gas explodes you know!"
Professional jobs just as in danger, law, accountancy, doctors; anything knowledge based.
But we've also seen enough examples that ai can't tell the difference between correct and wrong sources to completely be trusted. At the moment at least.
And till then they'd need actual on topic educated people to to look over the stuff.
Yep, he almost ran you over, but at least he used his turn signal while doing it. Skynet, I-Robot
I'm an Expanse nerd. Watching the show again now, and listening to the audiobooks at work.
I work on the robots now and it's true. A ton of operators are losing their jobs due to a new robot in their place. Sweet vids Jake
what is your work/school background like? i was thinking of getting into this as well
@@boeings_hitman was a marine Diesel tech until about 6mo. Ago. It was a complete career change for me and I had no experience in it at all. I'm an operations technician at Bosh and I couldn't be more happy.
Truck driver definitely getting replaced 😂
Honestly all the'd need to do is build a proper rail system and the trains can all be controlled per computer.
@@Daniel-dj7fh imperial truck driver
I prefer my dystopian hellscape Cruelty-Squad flavoured.
I love the Expanse. It is a frighteningly realistic approach to the near future.
Yep. Great show, scare future
I thought that too. lol I forgot to get gas
Yo, Assassination City Roller Derby plays at thunderbird, they're a good time to watch and play against
Yep, but if you look at it the other way, one of my kids is a robotic engineer, owns his own engineering company, he's doing great, the people his robots replace need to go work for him, kidding of course, or am I?
Working construction probably won't be taken over soon. Seen houses being 3d printed but the interior finishing and plumbing etc. can't be done by robots for a long time.
I do not like these 3D printed homes. All concrete homes seem doomed to crack when the ground shifts. Also look dumb af to me.
@@TheGardenSnake Haha yeah you're right about that. I didn't see rebar reinforcement in those. And no way for plumbing and electrics to run inside the walls.
@@TheGardenSnake the foundations of most houses is poured concrete
What will humans have left to do when the machines do all the work? That bike sounds great by the way.
Naw we need work. People get weird when life’s got little trials.
You should hear one with a slip on. KO lighting make one it sounds amazing.
I think look at what rich people do. They basically eather make up artificial challenges or face real ones with new research.
Geez, the call center thing is so frustrating. The amount of time that would be saved if a person answered your call and assisted you instead of a robot. I just ask for a representative any time I have to call a number like that anymore
WIth how less call center people actually know about a service to actually help, I doubt.
AI will be the end of humanity
I bet people in the past also said Computers will be the end of humanity and yet there is a coexistence which works.
DEEEEM AI TEEEEERRRKKKK MAAAAAHHHHH JERRRREEEERBBBBB
Andy frisella, Real AF Podcast. He talks about the dangers of AI and what dark path it will lead the people. If we all come together and say no to resist AI, they won’t have the power to continue with AI. Your voice, votes, and dollars matter.
The modern computers taking our jobs thing started around the 70s. When electric cash registers started taking over tellers got worried and it was a whole thing. They actually started to have automated warehouses in the 70s with robots getting boxes. The problem has been is even though the tech could be made humans where cheaper and easier to work with. From a old sci-fi perspective the people with the tech would get rich and things would get bad, but with no work the robots basic start funding human welfare (then after that energy wars). Will that happen in real life who know but I hope so.
making wall-e a horror movie over here
i typed that before you said wall-e lmao
That movie was supposed to be a warning and the public didn’t get the message
Darn drunk horseback riders have been ruining society since before the wheel.
3:00 i swear my horse drives better when he's drunk.
😂
I make headlights and taillights for Ford. We have robots throughout the plant, They constantly breakdown and need babysitters. Alot of down time, they fault out , Tech comes over to try and reset. when that doesnt work they are calling an engineer to reset and make sure it is operating normally again, If they can even get it going again. all this makes for anywhere from 10 min to acouple hrs or more of downtime. either way I get paid the same.
Well they’ll only get better. These are the early days so they’re still all spazzed out.
@@TheGardenSnake nah, what's actually going on there is the lowest bidder/cheapest option.
speaking of the expanse have you read, or watched the three body problem yet?
Im actually headed back to school this year, so i can work as an automation/software engineer. I was just thinking about this topic the other day. so id rather be the person who fixes the machines/ai when they need repairs lol
only software wise tho, mechanical faults will still be done by mechanics, as long as those aren't automised either.
You won't notice you're talking to an Ai nowadays already.
And you can't lose a job if you don't have a job, 1:0 for me Ai!!!
But on the side note, if everyone is losing their jobs and can't make money, what are all the ai-entertainments for if nobody can pay for it. Sure ads and all, but ads are only good as long as people buy the product. If nobody can't afford anything, the ads won't make money, therefore eminently also killing itself off later on.
I’m just waiting for all the self driving adopters to realize that they just want trains. “It’s better with everyone being in self driving cars” is the first step, then they get to “we need all these self driving cars to communicate so that they can act in unison.” That’s just trains but worse.
I program industrial robots. I think I picked the worst line of work for the coming years. Shit is going to be busy.
Edit : I should also add this... Chainsaws and Excavators took a lot of meaningless and labor intensive jobs away from people, but you would be hard pressed to find loggers and utility contractors who would want to go back to solely using axes and shovels now. AI is just another iteration of it. We have to figure out where it works and where it doesn't.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you are making stuff with no workers.. if you have no one that can afford to buy your product... then it's worthless
Sorry Jake, it’s been about 8yrs since I’ve seen a vid. I was taking a long nap.
They cant even get electric cars right im sure we still have time before AI takes over
I think it’s pretty close
The problem is getting it to legally be used on the road. If there are still fossil minded people deciding this it will never happen (like in Germany), but I think it's a good thing. People who buy a car to go somewhere should actually drive it. People who want autonomous driving should take the bus or some shit.@@TheGardenSnake
You'd be surprised how much of the electircal-driving/EV/Battery/motors stuff is actually already quite polished up. Because the whole tech is not really new, except autonomous driving maybe, which is efficitvely also just googlemaps with Rc-Car combo.
how do you manage wind noise on a sports bike? If i removed the windscreen from my vstrom 650 I'll go deaf because of the wind noise, also i tried a few different helmets but none of them fix the issue
Silly question, but have you tried removing the windscreen? In my experience windscreens are pretty tricky to get just right so that they dont cause turbulence. Also I would recommend trying a smaller helmet size or thicker cheek pads if possible. I had a awkward air pocket below my ears that got mostly fixed with new cheek pads.
@@ramimorsky1317 yep, it's way worse without it
Earplugs every time
I used to be a technician for many years until last year when I was laid off along with 20% of the bay area tech population. Now I still can't find work without getting pricked that will pay the rent. That's why I haven't uploaded any new videos to my channel in a while. No money, no adventures.
That sucks, sorry about that
Pfff think i got messaged by an robot pretending to be you, though it got deleted hahaha!
No more driving jobs, they’ll have to learn to code.

How is Gixxer Bike Doing these Days.
On fire a bit
the 25A was probably the pump, while the 10A was the computer. Why not just pull the rear sensor instead?
Cuz the pump does weird things when doing wheelies
Isn't the computer usually one module?
I mean I get it

A.I. and illegal immigrants, cause both are cheaper then you.
And at the same time there’s a big push to crank minimum wage to the point it cause them to let people go. Like are y’all in on this?
@@TheGardenSnake illegals don't go on payroll, raise the wages means raise the taxes, people will be paying higher taxes and it'll be easier to balance the books to look like everything is fine. For an example, NYC gives them $84k ( per house hold or individual is unknown to me, in the form of $7k per month ) and two years rent free, they've also been housing them in the public schools and forcing the kids who've been attending said schools ( let alone the school tax paid by the parents ) to do distant learning like with COVID, that's just one of these sanctuary hell holes. I'm not this type of person, I'm just tired of being part of a collective, that works and pays taxes, and my time which is the only thing you don't get back, for whatever all this BS today is. Americans were the " A$$holes " of the planet deemed by all these places with their hand out, until those hands started getting money / weapons / resources. It's not bad to have a heart that bleeds, but how can you help others if you can't even help yourself ass the saying goes, eventually we're going to bleed out and ain't nobody coming to help.
I work for an automation company, so my job is safe until they can engineer and build themselves
If a robot builds a robot is that it’s kid?
