    I pick the Montage, more depth and the Piano's and E Piano's have so much more expression. I programmed over 1000 sounds for the DX7 back in 87'. Noticed your pic with the Moog 55. You program any patches? I am on Arturia's default sounds of the 55.

    To sum it all up the fantom is used more on tracks because of its compressed sounds. Not to mention they sound radio ready straight out of the keyboard. The Yamaha sounds good as well but for live events because the sounds are so amplified with eqs so it’s meant to impress right out the keyboard.

    I had both Roland Fantom G8 and Motif XS8, they are amazing.
    For playing live, I prefer Roland Fantom sounds that cut through the Band right out the box and alot of people praised the sound coming from it.

    There's something about Yamaha's that makes them ROCK solid. I have both Yamaha and Roland synths. I maintain the Roland Keybeds ALL the time, but the Yamaha synths lives on without a flaw, my oldest Yamaha is 33+ years old now, still rocks without a single keyboard defect.
    That said - you will be SUPER happy with EITHER of the synths. You can literally create each sound similar on each instrument, they're both wicked advanced, 100's of menues to dive into, you'll be lost for YEARS, I pretty much guarantee you this.

    Buying right now I'd pick Fantom, if only for the layout, sequencer, raw power and software upgrade potential. @Bikerboythousand 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The sequencer on the Fantom isnt "all that". its a 32 measure clip sequencer. You have to get your head away from linear sequencing. The Fantom is not a workstation. Its a synthesiser. It is offered as a synthesiser. It has polyphony issues due there only being 256 partials available and not 256 note polyphony. Some "tones" have 3 or 4 partials active and throw some reverb in there, it soon starts to clip. Dont get me wrong, I love it but it does let itself down in some areas.

    • @paulmapp8306
      @paulmapp8306 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Bikerboythousand to a point, though Ive never run into poly issues - I know how it works and manage the resources, but I get your viewpoint. What it DOES do better than anything else available is integrate with other equipment live or in a studio. if you use multiple synths and in particular modules (or indeed lots of VSTs) its by far the better option.

But on the other hand, the Fantom has some advanced abilities that the Montage doesn't have...and the Fantom's unique touch screen features are very desirable over the Montage... You really can't lose with either one...

    I’ve been an happy user of Sipario since its first appereance on the market, but
    I’d have a big question 😁
    Let’s say you have this setup: one of these workstations + another keyboard synth + an expander and/or an ipad (no Sipario) for live gigs.
    You have to manage all midi zones, split points, layers, messages, sustain pedal and sevaral controls, with your masterkeyboard.
    Which is the best in terms of midi routing capabilities?
    I am searching the net to hopely find a deep comparison about mdi functions, not sounds.

    I do not see many comments about handling.. The user interface of the Roland looks very clean and has drum pads, also the turning knobs of Roland have AI feature and high resolution.. I believe the Yamaha wins it hands down, when it comes to sound sample depth.. But what about ease of use and build quality? Yamaha keys look bigger than Roland for example looking more like real piano keys, but the Roland touch screen seems to be very vivid and responsive and overall has the better appeal when it comes to led colors across the board.. Which one is the best?
