One of my best decisions I made was to box up and keep my bags I bought in late 80s, 90s and early 00s instead of selling. I thoroughly enjoy wearing them now. They feel fresh and new to me again. If you never liked a bag then getting rid of it makes sense but if you like it but it doesn’t “fit your life right now” reconsider….lifestyles, jobs, etc change and kids grow up.
I’m glad you shared your thoughts about regrets selling bags. I keep going through this. Sold some bags some for a huge loss, but felt better once they were gone. I made room for trying to find the ones that fit my lifestyle. The ones that I regretted, I recently tried on again. Lo and behold the magic was not there. So even though it still crosses, my mind, having gone back and trying on those styles again made me realize why I chose to sell. Epi Speedy 25 was one of them. So was a Lindsey. You do have a fabulous collection if the bags you regret are meant to come back here’s to you finding them. If not, you let them go and they’re in someone’s hands that are enjoying them today thanks to you selling them.

We are exactly the same. I'm a perfectionist, and when I get an idea and I have to do it. I think I'm ocd. I'll over analyse why I have to do something, and then it annoys me until I do what I have in my head ! 😅 I've regretted bags i sold ! Sometimes I rebought the bags I sold second hand and they are in worse condition than the bags I had 😅
I regret selling 1. But I did it to help me learn to live within my available space and because it wasn’t that practical of materials (nubuck and fabric). It was pretty, unique, logo based. It’s still out there somewhere being beautiful.
yeah , the denimpression chanel with the brooches on it was my favorite in your collection. It was such a cool bag and I think it looks great on short people as well as tall
thank you for the honesty. and thats why I have not sold anything. been tempted to sell a pink tweed chanel 19 because I have a leather version, don't want to feel like you with your med and rectangle situation. i also want to sell my chanel jumbo, but I'm scared that I will regret selling those and imagine trying to get a jumbo again. i don't think I could ever.
I relate so much to this! I have this "If I'm not using it, it's wasting space" attitude. I do it with luxury goods and just day-to-day items like casual clothes. I go through cleaning fits where I just purge my entire collection and wardrobe. Then down the line, I go "You know what would be perfect for this occasion...an item I no longer have!" I've learned to bag/box items up and if I forget about them and don't use them in a matter of months/seasons, I know I'm ready to let them go. Or I post them on a resale website for a premium and see what offers come through. That gives me time to see if it's worth letting go for a certain price as well.
Hi comment in regards to the empreinte speedy. I have that bag also & have been trying to sell it. It’s just so bulky. Why do the empreinte bags have no resale value? It’s in like new condition, has incredible heavy duty hardware and it’s beautiful!-ppl just seem to want the canvas monogram. It’s crazy. But the new soft speedy 30 is $3900 usd and sold out!
Yep - sold a Chanel black lambskin small classic flap in excellent excellent condition. At the time seemed like a good idea as not using it much but in reality it's such a classic bag that it will never go out of style. Should have kept it.
Fabulous pieces but oh my goodness the beauties you have in your collection now !! Who knows if you had kept those, would some of the stunning pieces you now have maybe have not found their way to you !!?? The pink denim Chanel was incredible though, big big fan of that bag !!
I have the exact opposite problem. I find it hard to sell my bags. There are a few that I never wear but am so scared of having sellers regret in the future.
I hate that I sold some of my bags, but I bought them too fast and without a proper budjeting (I'm a student). At the same time I am proud of myself that I chose to be finacially rational. Now I try to be a bit more patient and honest with myself, if I really have the budjet for my purchases. Great video as always!
@@anakabakchi6023 I feel like now it is so hard to even budjet.. Like in my situation I had a job and then suddenly I did not :D I feel like it is so hard to make bigger purchases since there is no guarantee that your financial situation will be the same in a month. But at the same time I dont want my money to sit and not doing anything. I want to enjoy life 🤣
Yes the denim Chanel small is much smaller. Would have been nice if they made an in between size. I loved the large bag in the green and was tempted to buy it even though it was way too big for my needs. I would have definitely purchased a medium size.
I regret buying an LV Trouville from the Japanese eBay market. No mention of an odour in the listing but boy does it stink! I’ve no idea what the smell even is!! I’ve never smelled baboon sweat but I’m guessing it’s not far off from this. I can’t even keep it in the house, it’s outside in my shed 😮. Do you know is there an handbag clinic in Northern Ireland that would clean it? It’s for the bin soon as it’s unusable at the minute 😢😢
If you think it’s a mold or mildew based smell, you might try dousing it in thymol liquid. Then airing it. Fortunately, I haven’t encountered this bizarre aging plastic smell from LV. But maybe that’s what you’ve got going on?
Hi have you tired the silica sachet’s that come in many items including food such as bread wraps? I save all of mine & they absorb all sorts of odours, once used, air them out thoroughly to reuse. The sachets prevent mould in shoe boxes, food items, all sorts they come in handy to reduce humidity. Also you can get charcoal sachets that will absorb odour, not to mention old fashioned baking soda (place in a piece of cotton & tie up). Good luck reviving the bag, be a shame to bin her. Have a fabulous morning, afternoon or evening 🐨🦘🇦🇺
I only have 1, I sold my limited edition Judy Blame denim pleats bag that I actually loved 🥴😒 I think about her all the time & I want to rebuy her but she’s really difficult to find & when I do she’s ridiculously expensive. I feel dumb every time I think of her. Like you I convinced myself, I’m tired of her
This video hurt 😅 I could feel the ghosts of bags past coming out to haunt me. I would hate to tally up all the money I’ve lost selling bags and all the money I’d need to replace the ones I miss. I once sold a denim boy bag (for a stupid reason), missed it and then repurchased it for almost three times what I sold it for.
I do worry about sellers regret, I have sold so many and so far no regrets which worries me because I’m more likely to sell again without thinking to much ❤
@@ameliarosesclosetI use the “ one in one out rule “ too in general all the time being a minimalist… however I don’t think this is a good rule for bag lovers..and I’ve regretted selling some bags because I was using this rule. These days, for bags, I use the “container method”… basically set a reasonable space(like a “container” ) for bags , and all my bags that I own must fit in comfortably in that space.. if it doesn’t fit, then it means either letting go of bag(s) you don’t want to fit the new one in, or u realized u like ur current bags more than the new one so u don’t buy the new one…. Helps ensure u don’t buy toooo many bags and get overwhelmed and enjoy them all without randomly selling bags that u love due to a one in one out rule 😂
there are 3 coach pieces i have, 1 i just sold today on Poshmark, its a pretty wallet but the matching bag is small and the wallet takes up about a third of the bag. The bag im going to get the chain extended, its just a shoulder bag and i really want it to be crossbody so i w contacted the purse doctors, once thats done ill use it way more. Then i have another coach bag that is similar to the one im getting extended but the cokor doesn't work with my wardrobe. I love purple but it's a brownish purple and very warm. I have cool tone purples and nothing else i wear goes well with it. That was an impulse buy because I love purple and its similar to the pouchette metis and i really want a PM but the leather coach bag was more affordable 😂. So hopefully i can sell it and get most of my money back. The wallet i made $10 on after fees so that was nice but the purple bag i think ill lose money on since its an outlet piece. Either way, watching your videos has made me more selective abd hesitant about buying things. So thank you ❤ inlove watching you and admiring your collection but I am also learning and i love and appreciate that too❤
I am thinking of downsizing my collection. And it’s so hard to sell common items for less vs selling seasonal or discontinued items for more and end regretting it later. I regretted selling the popular discontinued bumbag before it was discontinued for only $1800.
My biggest regret is selling a Birkin 30 Blue Jean in Clemence. I am so bummed. I’m actually trying to find another one in similar condition. It’s good to know that I am not the only one who is very impulsive. I sell things and buy things without thinking it through. Sad thing is that you lose money usually when you sell.

I think all of us regret selling something. A style doesn’t work for us and then 10 years later you love that style again. Bound to happen.

Look, I love you as a sister…..but you absolutely can’t have the pink denim Chanel back. I’m happy to offer a timeshare if that helps
To me, that pink denim with the pins on was everything.
It was fabulous
This is why I never sell bags! It is too traumatic! Thank you for the video!

I sold my Speedy 30 Empriente leather (with feet on the bottom)and boy do I regret it!
I regret selling my empreinte speedy too! Can't find the specific salmon pink color on the resale market to get it back either.
I was far too rash on that one!

I want to sell my black with champagne gold (kept unused since 2019) but it's not the microchip version, so not getting my ideal price in SG.😅
