Sophie, I sold my LV Neverfull about 3 months ago. It was my very first luxury handbag and I carried it every day for an entire when I got it! 😂 That was years ago. I know wealthy women who carry replicas. The main reason they gave is that they just understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much money on bags... so more people choose fashionable*jklux* bags. However, they do spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things.
Unrelated but let's say you came into some extra funds and and bought a luxury bag say a Birkin of about 15k, how much could you sell it for in two years if you needed the cash? Do they usually go up in value or lose worth over time?
If this is one of your fears/reasons for buying a one, you might want to reconsider and put your money into stocks or another solid investment instead. With the right F.A or by choosing the right investments, you could potentially be able to afford an 'updated' version of the bag without the worry of going broke in the near future. I say this from experience, having been in your shoes before. Goodluck!

Chargebacks can hurt on both the business or the consumer end, but they are the worst for businesses. If you have too many disputes or chargebacks, payment processors or banks can decide to close your account. Purely because it costs money. Processing a dispute/chargebacks cost money regardless of the resolution. There are even companies for chargeback deflections in order to allow high risk businesses to just accept losing the money in most cases.

Longchamp pliage is absolutely classic, relatively cheap, simple, can go in the washing machine (canvas), and is like a Mary Poppins bag - can fit a lot in and it’s super lightweight. I’ve been told you can send it back to LC to get it “serviced” and they will patch up any holes and make the bag as new. Mines been a daily carry for probably 7 years and works well for work, travel, errands.

The lychee leather I bought is really durable. I bought a card holder and stuffed it tightly, so it doesn't look like it will burst. I put it in various bags and rolled it around, and the lychee leather part didn't get scratched (the hardware part will definitely get scratched). I've used it for many years, and it still looks new. This is the thing I regret the least.

Dear Sophie Great video once again ☺️ I have a tip regarding the enamel on your ring. I had this happen to a brooch of mine. To “fix” it, I applied a clear uv gel nail polish coat. It didn’t repair it but it stopped it from getting worse. Maybe it’s worth a try so you can wear your ring again.

I highly recommend the longchamp pliage for the gym. It has a zipper and you can choose from a range of sizes and colours. Also it's a cheap bag compared to dior so you won't worry if anything happens to it

i used to want the dior book tote, happy I didn't get it because now after that scandal I no longer want it. when i used to work in the credit card dispute department and people would submit chargebacks against merchants and they would lose we would recharge/post the purchase again. i never saw a situation where we closed their card or anything for making a false chargeback. it was just a denial letter saying you lost, the charge has been posted back, pay it. however if you were constantly submitting fraud claims or having us do chargebacks, eventually we would close your card because it was no longer worth the risk to have you as a customer. chargebacks back when I used to work were $25 to submit one, pre-arbitrations is what you would file to dispute what the merchant sent back in response to the chargeback and arbitration was after pre-arb. costs were in the $150/$175 for prearb or more and arbs I think in the thousands. the losing party would have to pay the fee.

I don’t think selling the Book Tote is a good idea at the moment. 1. Because of its scandal…57$ you know😂 2. I do believe it will come back in a few years. I own 4 Book Totes and I don’t use mine anymore. I wouldn’t sell them because I don’t think you’ll get anywhere near the money back.
Speaking of fakes, there's this China lady at work she owns some of the best fakes I ever seen. Unless it's side by side with my real ones even I can't tell the difference from memory. Those bags are also not that cheap, each bag cost about 10% of the real bag so it's still in the hundreds. At least she was open about her designer bags being fakes and didn't try to pass them off as real ones lol

I totally get you Rachel, some of these bags literally DROP in value. For me, I try and keep hold of them as long as possible - so that when I sell them, they are commanding a higher price than what I paid. I hope this helps xx🩷

The Book Tote started to flag at one point, I noticed, though Dior managed to avoid a collapse by releasing new versions. I bought a similar bag from (I think) The Iconic. It was about AUD$80 or $90 (45 UK pounds), maybe one tenth of the cost of the Dior and I am glad I did because I realised immediately that it was no good for me. No shoulder strap and it is heavy. I have only used it a few times because it is a hassle. Maybe if I drove a car I would use it more. I hope your sale goes well. If you are considering the possibility of moving abroad to a warmer place, would you maybe use the Chanel more often then? Could you maybe keep it for a while and see how you go, if needed, sell it later on? Bank Fraud gets you into goal, as far as I know, but no personal experience! Thank you for the video!
the wear on the dior book tote is quite awful in my opinion? Ive seen a tonne of them on resale sites for 1/3 or 1/4 of the prices, and all their handles are all stained or discolored, i get its canvas, but bags from 50 years ago don't have this problem

I have a tip regarding the enamel on your ring. I had this happen to a brooch of mine. To “fix” it, I applied a clear uv gel nail polish coat. It didn’t repair it but it stopped it from getting worse. Maybe it’s worth a try so you can wear your ring again.
I love my le pliage in blueberry color. I have the small because I do not carry large bags but you can fit sooo much in it!! Im ready to buy the burgundy.😊
Yes the COCO top handle is still made, I love them and their colours! A new mini mini SGL version has just been launched!
I highly recommend the longchamp pliage for the gym. It has a zipper and you can choose from a range of sizes and colours. Also it's a cheap bag compared to dior so you won't worry if anything happens to it

i used to want the dior book tote, happy I didn't get it because now after that scandal I no longer want it. when i used to work in the credit card dispute department and people would submit chargebacks against merchants and they would lose we would recharge/post the purchase again. i never saw a situation where we closed their card or anything for making a false chargeback. it was just a denial letter saying you lost, the charge has been posted back, pay it. however if you were constantly submitting fraud claims or having us do chargebacks, eventually we would close your card because it was no longer worth the risk to have you as a customer. chargebacks back when I used to work were $25 to submit one, pre-arbitrations is what you would file to dispute what the merchant sent back in response to the chargeback and arbitration was after pre-arb. costs were in the $150/$175 for prearb or more and arbs I think in the thousands. the losing party would have to pay the fee.

I own 4 Book Totes and I don’t use mine anymore. I wouldn’t sell them because I don’t think you’ll get anywhere near the money back.
I have authentic Lv only one and then I bought from *suluxy* , wait the twins one that are authentic , sounds better.
Speaking of fakes, there's this China lady at work she owns some of the best fakes I ever seen. Unless it's side by side with my real ones even I can't tell the difference from memory.
Those bags are also not that cheap, each bag cost about 10% of the real bag so it's still in the hundreds. At least she was open about her designer bags being fakes and didn't try to pass them off as real ones lol

Well had a look around on line, oops the resale values of similar Chanel bags is very poor, meaning I would be selling at a huge loss. I don't know what I will do, maybe that's just the way it is, so just wondering if this is the usual situation. I totally get you Rachel, some of these bags literally DROP in value. For me, I try and keep hold of them as long as possible - so that when I sell them, they are commanding a higher price than what I paid. I hope this helps xx🩷

The Book Tote started to flag at one point, I noticed, though Dior managed to avoid a collapse by releasing new versions. I bought a similar bag from (I think) The Iconic. It was about AUD$80 or $90 (45 UK pounds), maybe one tenth of the cost of the Dior and I am glad I did because I realised immediately that it was no good for me. No shoulder strap and it is heavy. I have only used it a few times because it is a hassle. Maybe if I drove a car I would use it more. I hope your sale goes well. If you are considering the possibility of moving abroad to a warmer place, would you maybe use the Chanel more often then? Could you maybe keep it for a while and see how you go, if needed, sell it later on? Bank Fraud gets you into goal, as far as I know, but no personal experience! Thank you for the video!

the wear on the dior book tote is quite awful in my opinion? Ive seen a tonne of them on resale sites for 1/3 or 1/4 of the prices, and all their handles are all stained or discolored, i get its canvas, but bags from 50 years ago don't have this problem
