    We should be wary of Turalyon. Not just because of whispers and portents, but because we've found some semblance of peace, and now a man with 1000 years of war behind him is in charge.

      So... Garrosh 2.0 confirmed?
      Imagine, if the void is seeing an infinite amout of truths, the light may be just a faithful void, that found the perfect future for itself, which it pursues, hence its dogmatic nature and when it fails, it returns to the void in its desperation, completing the cycle. Somehow like a Naaru, that becomes a void creature when all the light, all its "faith" is gone... we have several quotes on faith, don't we? Kil'jaeden? Illidan? I believe there is an il'gynoth whisper refering to the circle of light and void as well... crown of light will bring only darkness... hmmmm?
      It may be the same for order and chaos as well... as it is for life and death ofc. I believe all of the known cosmic forces "function" like that.
      It just may be in their nature.

      @Vryn Thorn Sylvanas cannot be counted as 2.0 in my opinion. She wasn't faction leader anymore, we didn't fight her in the faction capital city and so I have to disagree. But this is just nit-picking, what about my theory? 😭

      This athiest "there is no good/evil there is only grey" is the NUMBER ONE reason why WoW is dying off. The moment players saw Anduin cut down a Kyrian "angel" they left. Get woke, go broke. And as this "grey" storyline continues, WoW will keep dying slowly. Theres a reason Legion brought WoW back from the dead.

    Honestly, it sounds rather logical, that Tyralion wages another war an has the support of the Alliance.
    But honestly: After having sort of a cooperation between Horde/Alliance all the time in form of Jaina, Thrall and others working together to kill off cosmic dangers, it would just be lazy af to get another "Horde vs. Alliance"-Expansion. I'd rather have some "100 years have passed, when you were in the Shadowlands and Azeroth is not the same anymore"-Expansion. We need a fresh start.

    Been saying even slightly before Shadowlands. Light-themed expansion with Yrel, Turalyon and the Scarlet Crusade on one side, and Calia Menethil, Velen and Anduin on the other side, as Calia and Anduin are technically "death-based Light-wielders", as the domination of Anduin, just like you said, leaves some marks, meaning Turalyon won't hand over the throne due to him being tainted by death. It does seem a lot more intriguing than the crap we have currently in Shadowlands.

    I feel like Turalyon's love for his wife and son would prevent him from siding with Yrel if she wanted to kill Alleria.. If he was ok with the Light killing his wife he would have let X'era do it. I feel like we'd come back from shadowlands to Turalyon and Khadgar leading a resistance in a losing battle against the Army of the Light.

    • @federerlkonig330
      @federerlkonig330 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      This Is what a problematic parte of the fandom needs to know. X'era did not brainwash and mind control Turalyon and Lothraxion, otherwise Alleria would have been dead. Yet, the two paladins stood against X'era's order and X'era, as She Is not the cruel tyrant Illidan's fandom thinks She Is, accepts It and decides to Just lock Alleria. If She was half the cruelty they think It Is, Alleria, Turalyon and Lothraxion would have been burned to crisp on the shot.

      @@federerlkonig330 Turalyon also expressed regret after the cinematic attacking Illidan saying she went too far which gets ignored, as well as the fact that Sylvanas nuked Teldrassil which put her back on the same footing as the old Horde he fought so his anger was understandable. The key part that is missing is the vision of N'zoth where Alleria turned and took Arator in the Void - I think this might actually happen and kill the last of Turalyon's hesitation to make him into the zealot needed to drive that plot.

    • @deceiver157
      @deceiver157 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think Turalyon will be depicted as a deeply struggled individual. He was never a monodimensional extremist but there's no doubt that joining Yrel's project may be tempting for sure. He would probably side with her for a good chunk of the story, only to falter eventually and turn his back on the Army of the Light.

    • @KaiObelisk
      @KaiObelisk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It would probably be the lever to make him realise he has gone too far and to listen to Velen but I imagine Yrel is savvy enough to not demand Alleria be killed, but to be sidelined...for the moment of course...all the while either trying to find out if she can be converted *easy way* or killed (the Blood Elves have murdered your wife! You must wage war against the apostates of Silvermoon!). But I could easily see him as the final boss of a Siege of Stormwind raid, when the Horde and the Alliance (the one led by Anduin) come to take the city back.

    Idk about Turalyon being a villain. He's an old school war torn vet who believes in his faith. He's not fond of undead but Faol proved he can come around and not only that, his wife is one wrong move away from turning into a prophetic murdering madwoman and he's well aware that's a possibility. The worst he could do as come to an agreement with Yrel and get Pikachu face when she starts enslaving everyone with the light. There's a lot that could happen like them marching on the Sunwell to claim it, or burning down temples of Elune and hunting loa and wild gods to establish the Light as the only faith. I know people might see that as lame since they did the exact same thing to Sylvanas, but the difference is she was established as this super cunning ranger who's always 12 steps ahead so the hate for her sudden "how could this happen?" Is justified. People like Turalyon are a lot easier to sway.

    I hate this revision of the Light in WoW lore. Reducing it to another tool that one can use to further their ends in the Warcraft universe clashes too much with how the Light worked in Warcraft 2, 3, Classic, and most of WoW where it could be used through force of will but is most effective when called upon in a show of pure faith.
    One reason I fell in love with Warcraft is Arthas and his struggle between following the ideals given to him as a Paladin which is represented in the Light or his hatred of undeath magic which is ultimately the path he follows that leads him to losing his soul. But if the Light isn't this beautiful thing that is good and holy, then it makes the story of Arthas far lamer.
    Also it feels contrived to paint Turalyon as a villain when much of the Horde just fell in line to serve Sylvanas, a leader who killed her own people to stop the spread of hope amongst them, descrated Teldrassil and blew up Lordaeron city, when Turalyon is a descendant of the Lordaeron nobility HIMSELF. And he's going to be okay with the Blood Elf Paladins who have not rebelled against Sylvanas?
    If we get a lame ass cop-out ending where the Jailer loses in an epic anticlimax to the heroes of Azeroth and Turalyon is the new villain of next expac, he'll become the new Garrosh. I'm calling it now. People are going to flock to white-knight and be white-knights for the closest character Warcraft has to a Warhammer 40K Space Marine.

      Here is a comment that I think will help understand, written by lorzon in Rejection of the Gift.
      It's important to recognize what happened here:
      Xera was a creature of pure Light. She literally cannot comprehend the mindsets or decisions of other forms of life. When Illidan destroys her, the Light fades from Turalyon's eyes and with the compulsion that Xera had used to control him. In it's way, the Light is like The Fel, in it's pure form, you either do what it says or it will kill you. Pure Order is just as dangerous as Pure Chaos.
      The thing is Turalyon has been in direct contact with the Light-the Naaru when Arthas has not, he has belief in the Light that will help him, guide him but he was not under the influence of a Naaru to make him go "extremist".

They would use its power to transport soldiers from the homeworld of the Light onto Azeroth, he would then be told they have more allies emerging from the south. As this happens the Dark Portal lights golden and Yrel and her forces emerge securing the south and join Turalyons army and begin prepating a fleet to invade Kalimdor and wipe out the Horde and fractured Alliance who stand against them.

Yes the Alliance and Horde can fight but that story works better in the background everytime it's brought to the front they panic and pick a defined bad guy. I worry that will be the case with. Light vs Void type story Blizz just isn't equipped to tell a complex morally grey story in WoWs world better off keeping things simple. Legion worked cause it was good vs evil. Only thing I'd add is that the Void would logically play way more of a part here. Saying "Alleria would have some issues" is underselling it: she'd basically be at war with her husband, and her Void Elves would be at war with the Lightbound Alliance.
    They may not seem like a big deal, but most Alliance players will remember that the Void Elves practically won the fourth war for them; they had everything to do with crippling the Zandalari fleet prior to the invasion of Daz'Alor, and played a big role in a lot of other ways. (Blizzard wanted the new faction to have some impact.) The Void Elves are INCREDIBLY dangerous enemies, and any expansion featuring Turalyon is likely to feature Alleria as well, as sidelining a female character wouldn't be a good look for a company in Blizzard's situation.
    Also, there's one other wrinkle: Anduin isn't a Paladin. He's a Priest. (Specifically, he's a Discipline Priest. He's used Power Word: Barrier on a bunch of occasions.)
    He playacted as a Paladin for a while, but at the end of the day, he's absolutely terrible with a sword, and his biggest moment in the BfA trailer was throwing away his sword and casting a Mass Resurrection spell. The Light has been ripped away from Shalamayne, and it's done nothing to help him in overcoming Zovaal's control. Tthe Light has completely failed him.
    And if the Light doesn't work...well, Priests have another option: The Void. And as the game's gone on, Blizzard has made it clear that a Discipline Priest like Anduin is always drawing on both sides. A Discipline Priest that only uses the Light, like Anduin, is completely unviable. A true Priest balances Light and Shadow.
    That's the Other Shoe that's been ready to drop for something like four expansions now. Sooner or later, if Anduin survives, he's going to start hearing the Void's whispers. If this is an expansion about a berserk Light, it would be the perfect time for the Young Lion to discover his Shadow.

    Bellular, I just want an expansion that actually FEELS good, that focuses on leveling, not endgame grinding, that makes you feel adventurous again. No more borrowed power - I think the Alliance split expansion should have an option to "reset" your character, but this time with a buff or a reward, in addition to end-game raiding and dungeons. Make the goal of the game the adventure in the leveling, not the epic battle at the end.

    I will say that they probably removed the reference to the Crown of the Triumvirate being a crown of light because it doesn't fit the timeline. I like it, but I don't think Turalyon is quite ready to accept Yrel's conquest. I don't think he would choose the Light over Alleria and Arator. But... if something like N'zoth's vision of Alleria were to occur and she is destroyed/corrupted, or Arator dies, that could be what snaps him. He needs to lose his anchoring family ties to really descend into madness. I definitely agree that Anduin will not be able to wrest power back from him after 9.2 and that will lead to some conflict. Probably genocide of forsaken in the lands of Lordaeron and the outskirts of Gilneas with Genn's backing.
    If this were the next expansion, I'd like to see the Yrel stuff wait for 10.1 or 10.2 and continue through the end, while 10.0 focuses on down-to-earth reconstruction of Azeroth, shadowed by the schemes of the Scarlet and Turalyon's warmongering in Lordaeron. That's a great time to implement new faction cities and lots of player-focused fun features. A little break from cosmic war for me to renovate my dream ranch in Redridge.

Besides if he was so intolerable he would have killed Alleria so long ago simply cuz she dabbled into the void. He's not a zealot, he's a patriot. And he has no love for the horde and given his history you can't blame him.

    • @magruder1993

That is when it starts becoming more "radical"

This is a war against what is a former demonic army, and just recently a genocidal confederacy hellbent on slaughter because either war is their way, or they did it to spawn undead. The radical ways aren't so radical when the opposition is always looking for excuses to wage war, or annihilate all life on ur continent to breed undeath.

    I feel that it would be a lovely twisted irony if it turns out that Yrel was actually the daughter of Kil'Jaeden, it would make a ton of sense to why Velen would have wanted to take young Yrel in as his apprentice from a young age, Samaara had already known of how their father had fallen into corruption by the lies of Sargeras and doesn't want for her younger sister to learn of their families' inner darkness. Plus with the supposed death of his son, Velen would have seen Yrel as a second chance. Conversely, Kil'Jaeden would have seen Velen stealing his family as justification enough to transform Rakeesh into a weapon of vengeance.
    In the PTR for WoD, it was also said that Yrel would have called Velen her "Uncle" and that there was a darkness hidden away within her that would play a larger role.
    On top of things, how her story played out and of the players involvement in saving the Draenei Civilization and conversely leaving behind a sizable power vacuum on the savage world of Draenor that the Lightbound would take full advantage of; it would be a no-brainer that the Draenei of that world would double-down on their worship of the Light above all other practices, it was because of their fall that the Draenei were now more open to the path of Shamanism.
    If anything good came out from our events on Draenor at all: the only silver lining I could see would be that the Arakkoa managed to survive as well, and that in them lies the key to undoing the machinations of Yrel and Turalyon. Remember that just like with the Lightbound, the Arakkoa had seen their own share of Light-based Zealotry in the past with the Adherents of Rukhmar and that with their defeat the High and Outcast Arakkoa managed to come together to form an order of their own dedicated to the duality of Light and Void that was central to the Apexis Civilization of old as The Order of The Awakened. All we would need is a way back to Alternate Draenor to retrieve these Awakened Arakkoa to help bring about a lasting peace before things get too far out of hand.
    C'mon Blizzard, give us the Arakkoa as a Playable Race for the Alliance.

    You really love this whole AU Draenor/Army of Light concept, cause this is the umpteenth time you've mentioned it in a theory video. So let me make something abundantly clear regarding the lore:
    In Warcraft, we know matter-o-factly, that there is only ONE true timeline, which is ours, and that all other timelines are just echoes, mirrors, etc. The only reason why WoD even happened was because a Bronze Dragon got involved, and that is likely the precursor event that will ultimately lead to the creation of Moruzond; step one, as it were.
    Just like with Gul'dan being thrusted into our timeline by Archimonde (part of the Burning Legion, who we know faction-wise, canonically, transcends all time, not solely existing in the True Timeline). That event was only able to alter the True Timeline because of The Legion getting involved.
    Thus far, we have yet to see the Light alter time to the degree that the Legion, and the Bronze Dragonflight has. Could they do it? Maybe, but thus far, there is no canonical evidence that they are capable of doing such a thing. The portal there can be easily closed, if there's even a whiff of sketchiness.
    We won't see AU Draenor invade the True Timeline. We may need to go BACK to that specific AU to do/get something, so we may deal with them in that regard, but they will likely never invade our timeline.
    The only way I could see that happening is if Nozdormu himself pulls the trigger on it, in a self-fulfilling prophecy-esque decision to become Moruzond, so that he could ultimately do whatever he becomes Moruzond to do. Clearly we know that Nozdormu has seen his entire life play out already. He knows when, why, and how he becomes Moruzond, and we all know when, why, and how he dies, as that's what End Times shows us. In Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects, Nozdormu states that he was lost in the Timeways, and that he's essentially seen everything. Now that we see the Infinite Dragonflight active again, we may be heading towards the birth of Moruzond.
    THAT is the expansion I want:
    World of Warcraft: The Hour of Twilight
    Where we get an Old God invasion/resurrection, which brings back Deathwing, births Moruzond, and ultimately leading into a Voidlord manifesting, consuming Azeroth's worldsoul, forcing Sargeras and the Pantheon, plus Illidan to return and help us save Azeroth from the Void.
    That would be way cooler than this AU Army of Light zealot invasion.

They are almost like 'ambassadors' for these powers. Also, they said back in an interview that if the Red Star fades in the sky, we are in big poop. If i recall correctly, the Red Star is Sargeras / Seat of Pantheon. The pre-patch of this expansion could do something with that, or the Void bringing eternal darkness to Azeroth and the planet cools down, etc. New weather effects?
