That's fantastic! I had no idea ANA were using ANZ 747s for training at that time. By then, ANA only had the 747-400D in service for just 1 more year. I guess the -400Ds were very busy to take one out of service for training I suppose. This is awesome I love both airlines!
Air New Zealand has now sold off ALL their "Queens of the Skies" Some were broken up and scrapped in the Arizona desert, a couple found new lives with freight airlines
Air New Zealand had 747-200's powered by RR engines in the early 1980's replacing the DC-10-30's and then 747-400's in the 1990's also with RR and GE engines.
The most gorgeous aircraft touch and go in my favourite town, gold footage.
Beautiful livery on this fine looking 7

I so so MISS them. They are part of my life.
My favourite aircraft to operate on as cabin crew. I do miss the 744!
What a thrill to be at the controls of this magnificent aircraft!
Who would like that sound :) Awesome
Nice video
Amazing
It's going to be so sad to see the 747 leave the Air New Zealand. By the way, the 747s are already being replaced by the 777-300ER's
This (I assume) was part of conversion and not airport familiarisation.
