I found a hack that you don't have to remove the wheel nor the wheel well liner... hope it works for you as well... I simply put a screw driver into the inner hood latch release lever to keep it up which gave the cable enough tension to release the latch lock.

@@J2-R2 I extended the travel of the interior latch which stretches the cable enough to release the secondary latch. This was an absolute shit design by BMW....
so i actually just purchaed a 08 BMW 328xi which it currently has a stuck passenger side hood latch, this video was very informative for how i can go about fixing the issue on my new purchase. thank you very much for making this video

took me four days to get the left latch open, right latch still wont open... left latch took pliers to broken cable from inside the drivers side of car, machete under the hood, pulled on cable after removing grill,, used a knife to slide left side, used handle release from front of car.. I dont know what worked but finally the left side seems to be up a inch or so, now the right one.. could take four more days
FYI little tip, was going to do this but I managed to open it by having upwards pressure on the bonnet while pulling the latch. The latch actually just came out of the clips
Yea my passenger side doesnt work right i have to have to pull the lever twice...get out... pick up the hood an inch... pull the lever again to open my hood thanks for posting this its on my to do list!

My issue with the cable wasnt with the latch clip actually. My cable actually melted through and broke on one of the hoses going into the radiator.
Didn’t work on mine and I do not have as much room as you do I think the hybrid 335i has sum to do with lack of space I see the cable but I can’t get my hands on the cable there’s so much in the way

I already tried this. I pull on the wire from the inside and it don’t work. N55 got more ish in the way too. I gotta go to the dealer. The forums quoted $500 haha.
TechF30 ohhh man that’s a bummer. When I pulled mine I realized the little ball was totally out of its housing so in order for to get the hood to pop I had to squeeze that thing back In and then pull. Not sure if yours is the same but tight space can make this very difficult
