I hate that now many manufacturers think it looks better to raise the touch screens out of the dash?! It looks extremely ugly when its not set into the dash flush. Mazda, Hyundai, and Honda are all doing this among others. I want all the Limited premium features and exterior features of the 2019 with the interior of the 2018.
I have the 2018 and what I hate is that both the AWD lock button, and the Drive Mode (Eco, Speed, Normal) are located in the centre console below the shifter. You have to literally look down to press the buttons. So many times I've blind pressed AWD lock instead of the Drive Mode because I'm driving while trying to keep my eyes on the road. The Drive Mode button should be located in the steering wheel, or at least on the dash so it's visible when driving instead of having to look down.
I like the 2018's interior more than the other because it looks more stylish and has a dual seprate climate control
I like the old one (2018) design.

Love the styling and interior, for the 2016-18 version, like that the 2019 is different as the older versions may become cheaper! (Lol) I almost bought one in 2016, later heard of a transmission fault? Is it an issue? I still have this vehicle on my radar as a potential next purchase, but does anyone know if the transmission faults/issues got sorted/fixed? Or any other problems/issues that I should know of before I buy!! Thanks.
Simon Williams Hi, I'm from India. i own the 2018 Model . I don't have any problems with the transmission as yet, except that it's more on the sluggish side, which isn't really a fault, but the nature of the gearbox
Hi I have a 2017 and bought it 1/2017 and I haven’t had one thing go wrong, I love my car, I mean I really love this car! I drive it so much that I already have 30,000 miles on it, I drive to Atlanta from Ohio ALL the time, but the gas mileage is awesome as well. Gas her in Ohio is 2.50 a gallon and I fill up with 33.00 at this price per gallon. I love my rims on my Limited turbo engine, I don’t like the look at all on the 2019, but the 2017 and 2018 are so much alike except I wish I did have the built in charger in my 2017
I have a 2016 Tucson Ultimate 1.6T with the dual clutch transmission. This was not a great combination. Many people complained about it shuddering in certain low speed situations. It can also be sluggish off the line at times. Not a huge issue, but a little annoying. The 2019 has a different engine/transmission and so should no longer be an issue.

There was a car reviewer that said it's one of the worst modern trends in car design. It's just like the designers forgot, and decided to stick an iPad on the dash last minute.
2018 = No adaptive cruise control. Even my 2017 Hyundai Limited Ultimate has adaptive cruise. That's why I won't buy the 2018 or even the 2019 Kona. I will wait for the 2019 or 2020 Tucson.
