I put C6 hydro light on my car. Memorial day weekend and can't believe the hydrophobic properties of this coating Just the gloss alone is something to be hold. When I tell my friends I have to wash my car because it's dirty. They look at me like I'm crazy Because it always looks clean. I'm still waiting on C6 mist to be available on the website.
Yvan replied to me and said C6 Mist would last about a month, but I don't think it really stacks like some other products do. He said you could use it daily with no ill effect to the coating performance. It isn't designed to be a durable product and the coating isn't designed to need a topper. Coating performance looks great! I can't wait to get it on my wife's car... but 50-60 hour weeks at work and keeping up with a 2 year old is making that difficult.
I don’t have the small kids anymore but, working those long hours I echo your sentiment. I wish I had more time to devote to detailing my vehicles. Long hours and short turnaround times between shifts, it is a workout like no other kind. The video is great. I still am waiting to use the 3 and 5 year stack I bought from DIY earlier this year.
Hydrophobic are insane 🥶🥶. I'd like to see a side by side of mist vs. ceramic gloss on bare paint. Seems kinda steep at $30 a bottle to use as a drying aid with minimal protection. Might as well use a diluted rinseless for slickness when drying if the coating really does last 🤷♂
C6 Ceramics Mist isn’t designed for long lasting protection, that’s why you have a coating on the car. C6 Ceramics Mist is designed for the ultimate in safety, ease of use, lubrication and gloss.
The video I did with Eddie which was Jimbos's Tough as Shell vs the mystery was C6 Mist and it out lasted tortuing of Tough as Shell . Slickess surface I every found not just a non durable topper.
For an extra careful wash if I want to not double dip I’ll use folded TRC Wolfpacks, folded Hyperclean versatowels, or a couple Autofiber double flips👌🏼
Everone seems to focus on WATER beading... Did anyone notice the FOAM beading. The Hydro line has insane hydrophobics! I first saw this on my wife's F150 - DIY Detail's 5 year on one panel with Hydro on the adjacent panel. Tighter beads with better self cleaning after a rain storm with Hydo. But seeing Incredible Suds stick on the 5 year, but totally BEAD on the Hydro was insane.
That looks amazing, I missed out on thos coating by a few months. It's landed in the UK already 😢. You seem genuinely please with it! I'm curious to know what your TDS is in your water? Mine is around 250, I'm just wondering what the products would behave like if you has similar TDS to me. Nice work Mike and DIY/ C6 👌
Has Mist or Amplify over taken Ech2o as your preferred drying aid? Im still using Ech2o because I like the gloss and it doesnt seem to clog my towels, but I’m open to something new if it is better.
Auto start/stop is anoying. Luckily my Crosstrek has this aftermarket adapter that intercepts the button and keeps it turned off by memory that I installed last year, it's been a game changer, no longer have to worry about the start/stop anymore.
Thanks Mike - two questions for you. How does hydro lite compare to gyeon mohs in terms of applications and looks? How does incredible suds compare to CarPro reset in terms of lubricity, cleaning power, and rinsing? I know you’ve used mohs and reset so I wanted to get your thoughts on those products in comparison to hydro lite and CarPro reset. Thanks!
In terms of application both coatings are user friendly. Hydro Lite will rainbow and once the rainbow starts to go away it can be wiped off just like the other DIY coatings. Gyeon Mohs will do the sweating effect and out of the two will flash faster. Hydro Lite will have the longer flash time to work a larger area. In terms of appearance I believe the look of hydro lite is glossier due to the enhancement that the APP polish also adds since it contains SiO2. To compare Reset and Incredible Suds. I like the consistency of Reset over the thickness of incredible suds. Both rinse off clean and both have comparable lubricity. There is something about Reset that just cleans better than most car soaps. So I would give the edge to Reset.
I've been happy with the ceramic gloss as a drying aid can't justify the cost of the c6 mist when the ceramic gloss works good and adds some protection .
The only thing I will add is Mist is designed to be used with hydro lite. It is not as durable as ceramic gloss but it won’t alter the hydrophobic behavior like ceramic gloss will.
@@2stepsaesthetics571 I have OV but have not used it in a long time. It’s a good one for sure. I have to put them up side by side but Mist is great to work with and gives some very good hydrophobic behavior. And it seems to work well as a drying aid.
@Mike G ,Good day, I ask you, does the quick detailer add brightness? And I ask why perhaps my cell phone has a defective screen or bulb and I can't see it properly?
My eyes and brain say yes. But hard to tell as the paint was recently polished and the APP polish and Hydro Lite coating already had the paint looking glossy.
They are nice. They hold a good amount of liquid but don’t feel any different than a regular microfiber wash mitt. Not super floppy like the noodle style wash mitts.
Great video Mike. Thanks for the update.
Thank you as well. Two great products thus far that compliment each other.
Wash and talks are always great. I'm definitely interested in picking up some C6 Mist once it's back in stock.
C6 Mist is so nice to work with. I think you will like it.
Next week

Wow Mike! Those are some great looking beads!! 🤩
Mesmerizing, right?
@@MikeGDetailing yes! I have the 3yr on my car that I applied last year but I think it’s ready for a C6 upgrade!!!
Got to admit, that’s some impressive hydrophobics, will be interesting to see how long it can keep that up.
Mike G Wash and Talk. YES great video. Probably my favorite.
Thanks. I will have to do more of these.
Mike I did the same thing I ordered two bottles of hydro lite when they put it on sale which should get me about 4 cars so I am stoked on that!
Wow looks great!! Hydrolite and mist looking like a top dog! Thanks for showing us Mike!
Thank you. Hydro Lite has impressive hydrophobic behavior and Mist is a nice addition to maintain it.
Great update Mike. The coating looks insane and application looks easy too. C6 Mist looks good also.
Thanks. Very easy application for the coating like all the DIY coatings.
Great video, Mike! Can’t wait to try mist!

Thanks. I think you will be pleased with both.

@@DriveTwistys they have not. I like Amplify if I want to add some protection. But hard to beat Ech2o.

Yeah I agree it is. Once it is off it is much better as it should be.

How does c6 mist compare to “topper” and OG Drying aid in terms of gloss and slickness??? Thanks

How do you like those Autofiber Flat out wash pads? Do they get super floppy when wet?
They are nice. They hold a good amount of liquid but don’t feel any different than a regular microfiber wash mitt. Not super floppy like the noodle style wash mitts.
What kind of “cart” are u using to carry your supplies as you move around the car?
It’s a cart I found on the bath isle at Costco.
Blank screen for first 10 seconds... Dramatic effect !!! LOL Easily the cleanest Equinox in CA.
Is that the new active 2.3? If so what are your thoughts on it?
It’s an AR BLUE CLEAN AR1500.
How would you compare Mist to Amplify?
Both are user friendly. Amplify gets the edge in slickness.
@@MikeGDetailing Amplify is slick for sure!
🍃28:36 but you are shooting UNFILTERED air 🌬at your clear-coat, instead. 🤷♂
Don’t fall for that myth.
