Thank you Keav, great tutorial and video, as always.
Just need a C6/DIY Detail takeover of GloveBox!
Good idea!
Thx, you already had all the good info out there so I didn’t screw this up. 🤣
Awesome demo. C6 Lite is in the cart! 👍👍
Hope you enjoy it!
Great video good buddy! Hope this summer’s treatin’ ya well!
Thanks, it’s has been except for the heat.
I'm not there yet in applying anything like this but wow, really impressive.
It’s very easy with the new coatings today. I didn’t have much confidence till I did the DIY detail coating last year. So easy.
I also did my own ceramic coating on my 4Runner. I did all the appropriate steps and machine polished my car. It came out great but it also took me about 13 hours total. You can do it, just know the steps and take your time.
@@stevejordan9567 It’s 90% prep and polishing a car by yourself takes so dang long especially if it’s a 2 step. If you can do a polish you can install a coating. Hope you coating does well for you!
@@CarsWithKeav it’s been awesome. A lot of work but worth it.
Great review! C6 are probably the best coatings on the martlet today! They are phenomenal!
They have been so far we will abuse this coating over the next year.
Thank you
Great job Keav. Very detailed explanation and demonstration. The hose nozzle swap was one of the best bloopers yet!
You should see how many times that happens to me off camera. Dang near everyday I accidentally trigger that sprayer.🤣
I have not installed lite but I have installed Hydra on a few vehicles and the self cleaning attributes are crazy. By all means purchase Lite and enjoy easier maintenance washes and crazy hydroponics. The gloss is awesome too.
Agreed, I can’t wait for how easy it will be to
Keep clean and the water behavior is crazy. I bet the Pro coating are on another level as well.
Man, that stuff can shed some water! That’s impressive!
Agreed, I was surprised. Let’s abuse this panel and see if the coatings survives.
I'm guessing next week's episodes will involve sump pump reviews and drainage solutions for garage detailers 😂 Great video as always!
Right now trying to find low cost video ideas all those pressure washers broke the bank. I’ll be fine end of June when those payments come in. 🎉
Keav bringing the heat 🔥🔥
This is what it boils down to. You’re getting a top tier coating and next level performance.
Agreed, but man it’s an investment for sure price wise. I’m going to abuse this panel and we shall see how it holds up.
Great video and demo! Excited to see how it holds up. Slowly coatings degrade, but I am super interested to see how this hold up. ALL IN
I’m not holding back this time we doing self car wash brush type stuff this year. 🙃
Thank you
You definitely made this coating more attractive to purchase with your cool testing Keav. Makes me wish we could get our hands on the other C6 pro coatings without these pro installer restrictions. Give the fans what they want! Lol
I would probably screw those coatings up. 🤣 they had to make an easy version for me to show. 🤣
That’s the reason C6 Ceramics Hydro Lite is available, to give enthusiasts the performance of a high performance coating.
Dude wtf I never seen ceramic coating like this before WOW 👌🏾 I'm getting this for my new car. I'm picking up Friday.... take my money 💰 DIY DETAIL
This stuff is crazy. I’ll abuse this hood and we will see how it hold up over time. I have confidence in Yvan and his products.
Thank you.
@CarsWithKeav I do have confidence in him too, but I normally like to wait when it comes to new detailing products
That coating is amazing
It is just wish it wasn’t so expensive.
Amazing coating and video!
So funny when one has the finger on the trigger.and splashes oneself 😜😜
Were you sleeping in today??
@@mdoyal111 😜😜😜No, I was busy at an office conference call besides other programming stuff I do, but on weekends I detail.😜
@@1stfrompuertorico568 it’s just weird not seeing you comment 1st on a video!
@@mdoyal111 😜😜I have lots of other things to do, I am just lucky being 1st when checking my sugar levels because of my G7 CGM and then videos start popping up 😜😜
It happens all the dang time. Just about everyday at least once I trigger that sprayer accidentally. 🤣
Great video Keav, can’t wait to see some update videos of the hydrophobic properties.
Thanks, be ready I’m putting this hood through hell this year. 🤣
Thank you
Great video Keav! Amazing product line!
It is just so dang expensive, but the ingredients are top notch.
Thank you
Video is great but the outtakes are spectacular!! I might have to save my pennies and apply this after current coating fails... Hail Hydra lol
I always have a good bit of outtakes some better than others. 🤣
This coating looks crazy good!
It is now we get to see it go through a year of hell.
Thank you
Great video bro! This is a test for DIY type people whom may or may not use the app. Insane water beading action!!!
Yeah, app is required for their pro coatings, but the lite it is suggested. Pretty sure required to get the support and warranty type stuff.
Yep, exactly! Some people may just want to apply the lite and call it a day. You're video was very insightful for all!
Amazing coating !!
Agreed
Great video! Impressive so far on install. Wow! That was a some crazy water behavior.
Yeah it was like a river running on the hood. I’m
Going to abuse this panel this year we will
See how it holds up.
Great job Keav doing this testing.
Thank you
I need this! Awesome job
Thanks!
I'm always a believer in using the panel prep designated by the coating manufacturer (cheap insurance) but I'm definitely curious to see how this plays out with this coating. I will be buying it and using APP, but this is a good test. Did you notice any difference in flash time between the two preps?
No difference in flash only the non-app side was grabby when applying the coating.
I think one of the coolest tricks to determine if it’s ready to level is the towel trick.
Agreed, this coating levels so well it’s the easiest way to check.
What's the towel trick? I'm having this put on next week
Thanks again for the videos. Hey what machine did you use in this video? Also is it a rotary or a DA? Oh and I am not asking about the red sander
It is a Shinemate EX620 15mm/5inch DA
@@CarsWithKeavHey. How do you get such great pressure with your water? Are you using some type of equipment to boost your pressure? I get anywhere between 54psi to 64psi depending on if the city has made the adjustments needed since the development we live in releases more townhomes. Meaning that each time the builder opens up a 4 unit townhome when they are done they open up the water to those units. We can always tell they do that since our water pressure drops for a week or 2. Our plumber told us that the city gets pressure readings off of all our meters and when they get alerts when a developments water meters drop they make adjustments to that area. Not sure if that is true or not but the pressure seems to go back up to where we see peaks of pressure at night around 70. We have a meter on our PRV so we can see our pressure as well as we have a Flo by Moen whole house smart water shut off system and it tells us the pressure at all times. This is how we know this. But once the builder finishes a whole new building the pressure drops again. Sucks.
Also how are you able to dial your pressure up and down?
I wish there was a way we could talk so I can understand some of that more.
Hey Keav I dig your content, you know your stuff, had a question , i got 2 DA polishers the G8 the G9 have done multiple of paint corrections for my own vehicles and my customers vehicles. have been wanting to get into a rotary , which quality rotaries would you recommend?
I am not experienced on a rotary to be able to give that kind of recommendation. I hear good things about the Shinemate, but don’t want to speak on what I don’t know. Sorry I couldn’t answer your question.
@@CarsWithKeavall good man thanks for replying and I appreciate your honesty
EC detail eddie also recommended a shinemate so i guess im going with shinemate 👊
@@MrVic0629 yeah, I was in the video talking about my experience with them. Pretty good stuff.
Gyeon MOHs evo and NV may have a contender
It better be for this price! I ah e not tried those to know, but have heard good things.
I’m thinking about this for my 1999 Mercedes. But the coating is about as much as my car. Just kidding, to get a really good coating, you usually get what you pay for.
There are tons of great coatings out there. The DIY 8 year is a good value compared to this one at half the price as well.
So do you think that it’s necessary to use the app polish? I ordered the c6 but didn’t want to spend an additional $25+ on the pad and polish.
It is not necessary the app just makes it easier to level and install and the best possible adhesion for the coating. My test hood looks the same on both sides only difference I saw was it was easier to level. Just make sure the surface is prepped properly with the tools you have.
Curious to see how it holds up.
Me too and I’m not holding back on the abuse for this hood over the next year.
You should try blue collar 1
Will have to keep that in mind. Nothing to put any coatings on right now.
Crazzyyyyy hydrophobics
Agreed
hi, i did 2 passes with carPro Ultracut White Foam Pad, than 2 passes criss cross carPro Fixer, than about 3 passes criss cross carPro Reflect, on Black Color S5, I still see some marks there...is there anything that could be done now after all this or thats the closest result I could get with polishing? Thanks for help
With the paint nowadays most are not doing a full correction as the clear coat is so thin. I myself don’t mind a few imperfections that can only really be seen on a detailers light and at a specific angle. As long as you got the micro swirls out I think you are good. Only way sometimes to get perfection is with wet sanding which is a whole other ballgame.
I can’t understand the hype behind this coating, I have applied both system x and pearl nano v2 to my vehicles and both coatings have the same hydrophobics as this coating even after being applied for 1.5 years (system x) and about 3 months (pearl nano)
@@kolbybroome5885 Sounds like you have all you need. This is the best coating I have ever tried which is why I love it, but not just the hydrophobics it’s the ease of use and little product needed. You have to try and screw up to get a high spot.
Have you received any micro marring or swirling from all those tests you've done on that panel?
Not much, but I was being careful. Not this time we treating this like it owes me money. 🤣
@@CarsWithKeav off topic: but if micro scratches / marring still occurs even with the slickest soaps and most careful methods, i feel like it doesn't matter too much how you wash the car. Meaning one bucket and a rinse of the mitt in between panels versus two buckets. Even dumping 6-10 mitts in a bucket and using each side before tossing it in a dirty bucket after will probably still do damage.
Which means that pre wash / foam and rinse is probably the only chance we get to removing anything significant to reduce.
Which brings me back to the topic. Having a long term coating depending on who you ask may not be a waste if you have to polish out things every couple years. However, the hydrophobics on that Hydro Lite is out of this world 😍
@@MarcYanOfficial Anytime you touch the surface you risk scratching and I agree the prewash is the most important step to mitigate scratching. A good coating will make that prewash more effective and sometime the contact might not even be needed due to the dirt not sticking as easily. The Hydrophobics make using a leaf blower easier so you limit another contact with a drying towel.
how were u telling when to level the coating?
It has a oil spill like rainbow look after applying and will flash off once that is half gone you can start leveling. If you notice I did anything check with a microfiber and you chef the surface of the mricrofiber leaves an imprint it’s not ready yet.
what was that battery amazon sprayer?
This one amzn.to/3VnAAze it has a few weeks delivery time, but it’s good. I did this video reviewing it th-cam.com/video/pptYNMvCjVg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=89elG7WDaFFWDEMA
C6 is the sister company? i was thinking more like a brother
Whatever you want it to be is fine with me. 🤣
They should advertise, "use water for dry"😂
Agreed, I could see myself wasting a lot of water just drying the car. 🤣
Soooo am i slowly dieing aince i apply coatings without gloves? Truthfully though i cant be ause otherwise my hands sweat and then sweat drips out and onto the fresh coating....so whats a guy to do. Slow death, shiny car 🤷
I never used gloves and I hear it in the comments all the time. I did it this time so I didn’t hear it from Yvan. 🤣 I can’t do anything dangerous without the PPE police in the comments. 🤣 I reviewed a surface washer in bare feet and I got roasted. 🤣
Get some thin cotton gloves to put inside your plastic gloves. Please do not install a coating without gloves.
How's it work on a jetkski in salt water???
They will have a Marine line as well not sure on when it will be available, but marine equipment has a different surface and there are specific coatings for them. Gtechniq Marine is a very good line of Marine products and coatings.
For a new Jetski it will be great
Why add such a big bottle if we are only using so little?
I have the same question as many others. Bottle was designed for the pros who will be doing many installs, but if it’s suggested for the hydro lite a figure a small bottle would be a good idea.
We are working on it
Price tag is insane.
Agreed, hard for me to justify the cost if I was to purchase myself, but that is what the test hood is for if after a year it still acts like this then I might give it a go for a full car.
Great video Keav hail Hydra Lmao
Thx bro
Thanks
I am an installer for C6 Hydro/Diamond in the north Dallas TX area if anyone is looking a one.
Awesome!
when DiY removes "lifetime from their claims then maybe ill buy something of theirs. to me theyre slowly becoming F11 😅 overpriced overrated
This product is claimed for 6 years and their other coatings are claimed for 3, 5 and 8 years. I can’t speak for the pro coatings as I’ll never use them. I like their products, but we can all have our opinions.
I've used multiple versions of gyeon, gtechniq, adam and system X ceramic coating. The C6 pro grade hydro is unlike anything I've ever seen or used. The extremely simple and easy application process. The nearly self leveling coating during removal. The insane hydrophobic properties. It is however the most expensive but I've switched my entire business to serve exclusively C6 coating now.
I know it sounds like snake oil but buy yourself just 1 single bottle and you'll understand.
@@Littlebird-m9x Agreed, it is just in another level. My hood is getting abused and it’s just repelling water like nothing else.
DIY doesn’t have a life time claim, c6 pro coatings do, I wouldn’t listen to someone who doesn’t know which is which 🤷♂️
not worth the price! next! there's comparable coatings for a fraction of the price gtfoh 😅
It’s expensive for sure and I myself wouldn’t buy it just because of the price, but I won’t make my determination on if it’s worth it or not until I see what it does over the next year or more of abuse. I wouldn’t put on my own car without thoroughly testing it out first. Too much work to remove a coating.
Really. How would you even know what is comparable to this coating. It's new and at the top level of ingredients. There's a price for the best. Keav just said he has never seen hydrophobic's like this. So why don't you gtfoh. 😅
