They need to start making 3-D TVs again. And more 3-D movies need to be released on Blu-ray. I’m still rocking my 2018 Sony Bravia XBR65Z9D, which is an amazing set, and I’m totally fine with wearing the glasses, but if they could do glasses-free 3-D on big screens that can track multiple heads, that would be a dream come true.

@@WaverBoy Its a Chinese company called ProMa. I recently got and reviewed their newest tablet and the 3D quality is actually excellent, so I decided to go for it. They claim it is compatible with 3D blu-ray players. Its really expensive though. You can see their TVs and products here www.proma3d.com/prods.html

@@josh_3D I can’t wait to watch your video review! If it’s as good of quality picture as my beloved Sony Z9D and the 3-D quality is as good or better, glasses-free, that’ll be a game-changer!

The most important feature im looking for is either frame packed input or a way for full-res MVC playback to be supported. Currently i use nvidia 3d vision with potplayer for that

Hey Josh, your channel is awesome. You're really good at presenting information, thanks for the videos.
One doubt about the Acer 3D monitor, does it have a mode for allowing a Side by side video input which is not media (eg a game reproduced in real time in SBS) to be presented in real 3D?

It does have a mode that allows that! It can be toggled on and off with a shortcut anytime, as long have the SBS displaying in full screen

Buon lavoro.

I have doubts about these monitors working well with VR games, but I'd love to see it work. 🙂
I'm most excited for whichever one has the best game support and 2D -> 3D conversion, but I don't like that we have to decide based on software. 😮‍💨 Imagine having to own several different monitors to get the best of all worlds: Leia for movies, Acer for games, Samsung for VR, Asus for OLED, and Lenovo for ???.

Leia bough over the company who makes SpatialLabs (ACER) and Asus 3D tech. I don't know if they are going to start making cross software for both. It was called DIMENCO.
They claimed they wanted to make a unified standard. This was back in maybe October. So it may take a while to get the unified code up and running. Leia can deal with the mobile aspects of 3D and video/picture capture. While the laptops are used to enhance the 3D videos, play AAA VR games in 3D, etc.
I actually seen the 3D laptop screen. I like 3D laptops and screens because I don't like being cut off from the outside world. I have a bit of paranoia lol. There is true depth.
I understand that as well. I know asus wants their own to compete with acer or whoever. However, this type of stuff only slows DOWN the change to 3D. It also makes the games extremely dependent on waiting for the respective company to get the game and make it work for their specific software.
I wish they could just make all of it open source and then make it easy to push 2 different images to the screens. As simple as just saying
Side A go to screen A,
Side B go to screen B.
The problem is that these games don't have a way to split the feed naturally. Ultra 3D+ from acer is volumetric 3d. It's not just floating menus on top of the perceived depth behind. You can get a visual feel of each object i the scene. I've seen pop out probably up to 4 inches from the screen. (perceived of course) Then the plane just extends into the screen. I remember I was looking at a demo and it felt like the lights were scanning the back of my retinas lol. (it didn't hurt it was just a strange visual experience)

you can display UEVR sbs without vr on LUME 2 TABLET (Moonlight3D) ?

    • @josh_3D
      @josh_3D  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

I haven't tried that specifically, but I've used moonlight to stream 3D games displayed in SBS format on my laptop in 3D on the Lume Pad 2, so this should work as long as you get moonlight working and display the UEVR in sbs mode on your computer
