IMO Gigi has all the right qualities from singing to the looks to make it big globally if some of the factors mentioned previously are provided. anyway thanks to the internet, countless great singers that sing good and deserve more famous and appreciations will get to be known. perhaps some may get to be global stars even without those factors being presented. Because Eric Burdon and the Animals had such a massive hit with their recording of this song back in 1964, most people assume Eric Burdon wrote it. Fact is, no one knows who wrote it. Musicologists have tried to track down its origins but it's so old that its origins are lost in the murky mists of time. It may even go back all the way to 17th century England in a form that became known as "Broadside Ballads."
