Welcome to my new Sunday night thing, around the farm with JT. Thought I’d make a 2nd video a week to talk about stuff I’m working on and general farm fun!
How many beer per acre was the corn.😂 your a cool guy wish you were my nabour my boy loves fixing tractors and he is 16 now he would have fun helping you .he picked up a 1155 massy last week it didn't run in 5 years so I helped him get it running and home. It really nice shape he got it for 1.500 dollars so he is happy. Come spring he is gone to work over are alfalfa feilds. Your his heroe.thank for the fun video. I live in Saskatchewan Canada and farm on my land my grandfather bought in 1918 .I will give it to my boys they are 4 generation to farm this land .take care I will be watching for your next video.
You just never have enough space JT! You need a shop with good insulation, good doors, lights, large enough to get the 4wd tractors to fit. Much easier working when you aren't frezing or wearing 30 pounds of clothes. I know...i have the same problem here. Working on it!
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 I was fortunate that my old farm had a pole Barn on it when I moved in. After the cattle and horses moved out I dug out the dirt and had a new floor poured. No heat yet but sure nice have a smooth floor and an out of the mud. A new floor and a couple good doors you could probably do the same there.
Two videos per week will be great JT. I usually watch yours twice anyway as they are the best on TH-cam by far, so an extra one will be fine and dandy.
JT , shelling corn was my favorite thing to do. We had a grain dryer and a Massey Fergusion 540 that we bought brand new. I think the grain head was 13 ft and the corn head was a 4 row. That same year we traded the 1135 in for the 2745.

Before I retired I would have loved to have a tractor with a cab. Closest I came was when I bought a new Mahindra. The cab was about $5000 and I couldn’t handle the money. Oh well, and don’t let anybody kid you that Mahindra was hell of a mid sized tractor, this from somebody who grew up on AC, I-H, and ran JH for 30 years. Keep the cab, you’ll never regret it.😊😊😊😊😊😊
About 50 years ago I ran heavy equipment for a company that was really great. On warmer days we were allowed to have a (a as in one) beer at lunch time until a cat skinner took a cooler filled with beer and ice for the afternoon. The push cat he had was very heavy for its size (AC HD 21) and he got to wondering if he could cross a slough. When the water was a few inches above his floor boards he finally gave up. The following day both the operator and beer privileges were gone. A sad ending to a good thing due to abuse.
the farms progress and a neighborhood update aint so bad, get to show us a few new folks and see their toys/equipment and how they are doing is neat, thanx for the video
In case of a tiebreaker on the cab, I volunteer to break the tie with a firm, “I hate the cab”. As a kid, I was strangely delighted when my grandfather finally took an identical cab off his JD. Open station was preferable to that Lego cab.
Farmers have a tradition of helping each other out during hard times or weather crunches or unfortunate breakdowns during a time crunch. I love seeing the helping each other out (not the breakdowns). That attitude is lost on most city folks because 'gramma died' by some people who seem to have 14 grandmothers. I miss seeing people helping each other out, really helping each other out with blood sweat and tears. Could you feature some of that on Sundays?

Not sure how long ur run is but dam those numbers are impressive. Sounds like it's been a while since you done corn. I want to say do urself a favor n get some soil samples. Check for nitrogen / phosphate. . I'm familiar with some farming . I spray n prep ground as well as maintain equipment during that planting and harvest rush. Deer if you take n up ur plant count on the ends they don't want to go in the beds. Theirs also a sauce used to deter them as well. Yea see if the 2 vids a wk work out even if it just the off season. Thanks j t .
Soil samples are a definite for the upcoming year. The two places I’m planning to do corn don’t have the deer pressure as bad as other fields seem to. Not against the woods anyway. I’m hoping I can keep the two vid going for a while! Seems like it was a good idea and it taking off nicely!

Like the 6600 got one just like it been trying to finish 67 acre of beans this fall had a drive shaft coulpler strip out the other day got it back going though. I cant get 1st or third gear been using second since i got it.
This isn’t your usual showtime!! Lol 😆 . Nothing wrong with a two video week. Going to the dark side hanging around a case, might need a vaccine to cure whatever you caught off of it. Hahahaha 🤣👍🍻
JT get yourself a snowblower put a nice 8 foot snowblower behind that 1155 get yourself a good snowblower and make some snowblower videos everybody like snowboard videos why I cannot figure that out but I like snowblower videos lol and I’d love to see one behind that 1155
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 oh I must not have caught it. How many acres do you run? Crazy to hear your neighbor got 350bu/ac my area gets about 180 in perfect conditions. All our corn goes for silage.

Mine has 1-3 easily but takes a few tries to get 2nd. Kind of have to massage the shifter into 2nd ☹️. Can’t get 4th ever

The cab on the 5010 is very noisy we had one on a Massey 1130 the best thing we did was take it off a put a umbrella on it

We may have been exaggerating that number 😉
He was closer to 200 bushel. Seems to be the going bu/ac in this area this year.
