One of my favorite books even before I became a Catholic was In This House of Brede by Rumer Godden. It is hard to find a good non fiction book that does not promote an agenda.I have added some books from your list. I like the Friendship Project. As a new Catholic, I need some Catholic women friends. I had prayed over this and was just invited to a Bible Study at our church. So excited.

I love the idea of a reading hour!! I keep saying I’m going to do that, but start with 30 minutes. I’m headed to the library tomorrow for the first time since moving to Germany so I’ll see if I can get this into our summer schedule. ❤️
Thanks for the sweet words. I’m so happy we’re friends!
Oooh. Return sounds like a good one to read and recommend. 🙏

This was very helpful, Heather. While this series is not Catholic, I would highly recommend books in the Mitford series by Jan Karon. A "Mayberry-type" book, and good, clean reading, with spiritual elements.

I always went to the weekday mass that my kids catholic school had. That can help you meet other catholic mom's.At the least it's a morning out.I was continuing to have children when done of my good friends were into others things, going back to college and working as their children go older. It can be a lonely time. I also would pack my little ones up and head to the mall 35 miles away just to be around other moms with babies and strollers. You are a wonderful mom.

I'm going to reread Part 4 of the USCCB Catechism; I skimmed Part 4 prior to starting RCIA. I'm a convert and it's the book that led me into the Catholic Church. I also have Dynamic Catholic (Matthew Kelly). My other books are educational (I'm a teacher) but I really recommend think like a lawyer. It is written by a teacher turned lawyer who ascribes to the idea that we have an expectation and critical thinking gap. I'm about a third of the way through the book and I started it this morning. It's geared towards educators however I think it has practical application for the homeschool setting too. The book is a short read and written in easy to read language. Thanks for starting this discussion.

Thanks for these book recommendations. I’m always on the hunt for a good read. Like you, it can be a challenge to find time to read. It feels like an indulgence when you’ve got kid(s) to look after and other things to get done during free time. But when I can read a bit, it is glorious. Way better than TV or Netflix.

A great Catholic romance novel is "Mirusia" by Monika Barbara Potocki. Both protagonists are Catholic, there is no sex or innuendo, and a really great, realistic Confession is the climax of the book!

It would be great if you could on your channel talk about the philosophical argument for gods existence (William Lane Craig, Alvin Plantinga, Edward Feser) and the historical evidence for Jesus resurrection (Lee Strobel, Josh McDowell, Sean McDowell) and the scientific evidence for god (Hugh Ross, Joshua Swamidass, Stephen Meyer). :)
I know that William Lane Craig, Edward Feser, Lee Strobel, Josh McDowell, Hugh Ross and Stephen Meyer are former atheists/agnostics.
By the way, Stephen Meyer and Edward Feser are catholic (the rest are protestant).
