The Producer for this track was DJ Muggs from Cypress Hill The DJ in the video, DJ Lethal who was part of House Of Pain went on to become the DJ for Nu Metal band Limp Bizkit
Correct. People don't realize that Muggs was THE BOSS of Cypress Hill and House Of Pain. He was like a DJ Prince. He wanted to give this beat to Cypress Hill but it sounded too much like "Insane In The Brain" (which they were already working on) so he gave it to House Of Pain. He's also the reason B-Real rapped the way he did. He told him that if he didn't find a cool way to rap he's just be writing rhymes for Sen Dog.
@@mneugent7658 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Pain_(album) Went back to that, instead of my cd LOL. House of Pain was an American hip hop trio that released three albums in the 1990's. They had a strong fan base in Ireland due to their unique cultural identity and catchy music. In 1992 "House of Pain" released their hit single "Jump Around" which became an instant hit with pop fans and drunken college kids. lol This song was a rowdy juvenile party anthem that was widely used in film soundtracks. The song's screeching and dogmatic chorus was an instant win with millions and shows no sign of retreating after 30+ years. Here's another style of music to give a listen, if interested. "Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication (Official Music Video) [HD UPGRADE]" (by the channel: Red Hot Chili Peppers) - Red Hot chili Peppers are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California. The bands founding members are Anthony Kiedis (vocals), Flea (bassist), Chad Smith (drummer), and John Frusciante (guitarist). The pipes are not making that squeeling sound. These pipes are Scottish. The Irish have their own style of pipes called Ulean or Ulayan. They are smaller than Scottish pipes. I can't remember how to spell it but it's pronounced like the second word. These guys are Irish Bostonians.
@@StaxReacts Nah, they are from California. The video was filmed in NYC. People just think they are from Boston because of the Jersey. I don't know why, it's not like baseball where people usually only support hometeams.

So they play this song before the 4th quarter at every football game at the university of wisconsin/madison. The entire crowd jumps, they had to over-engineer the seats to be able to withstand all that extra shock load. Nice vid dude!
This song brings back memories when it hit clubs back in 1992. I was a police officer on Maui at the time. Almost every night we were dispatched to a famous club in Lahaina called tsunamis. All hell used to bust loose when Jump played.
Bro, when this came on in the club, we ALL lost our shit and just sterted jumpin! GenX'r from the BX who grew up in all the NYC clubs when this music was just released! I appreciate younger people feelin this music! Bravo! 🤜🤛
I can't believe you haven't heard this. This is not only one of the biggest rap songs of all time, this is one of the all time biggest songs. It is played at every NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, and esp NCAA Wisonsin football game, out there they even have a special time out and the whole 80 thousand people in the crowd start jumping around and singing along with this song. That and since it has came out, it is still played in every club strip club, wedding party, proms, movies, and video games.
A lot of that footage is from Boston on St. Paddy's day which funny enough goes harder than Ireland. Bagpipes are both Scottish and Irish but originated from the middle east. We're once outlawed by the British as instruments of war because in battle different song could relay messages to soldiers
There is also an Italian version of the bagpipe called a zampogna, my great-grandfather was a renowned zampogna player and actually performed at Carnegie Hall- but imo it sounds terrible, the Irish and Scottish ones are much better.
DJ Muggs did that beat for someone else but they passed and HoP jumped on it. That instrument is a Sax. Same as on that Public Enemy track. Good react, do Beastie Boys Car Thief next ;)
Dunno if anyone mentioned this but House of Pain's DJ is DJ Lethal, who went on to be Limp Bizkit's DJ (LB also did a cover of this for the 1998 Family Values Tour cd)

That's Prince doing a scream in his song Get Off. Not a tea kettle...
The whistle sounds like the same one that P.E. used on "Nation of Millions"
Factssss
Sample is Divine Styler's "Ain't Sayin' Nothin"
The 80s and 90s don't forget about us! I came to get down!
I graduated high school the year before this came out this along with Ice Ice Baby were popular in the 90s I miss this decade along with the 80s too

Their music incorporates elements of alternative rock, punk rock, hard rock, hip hop and psychedelic rock. Their eclectic range influenced many genres of music. I look forward to hearing what you think. 🤔 I enjoyed your reaction. Thanks for sharing. peace out~
You’re the absolute best❤️
Era of the beepers… this song was everywhere and we loved it 😊
🙏🏽🙏🏽🔥🔥
I’m a fan Stax, I just subscribed. Please check out live Beastie Boys (David Letterman Ch-Check it out and Amsterdam to start)
DJ Muggs did the production on Jump Around for House of Pain and subsequently added the East Coast flavor to Cypress Hill. FYI
I've had this on every tape, CD, illegal download, and playlist since it came out ❤
🔥🔥🔥
The pipes are not making that squeeling sound. These pipes are Scottish. The Irish have their own style of pipes called Ulean or Ulayan. They are smaller than Scottish pipes. I can't remember how to spell it but it's pronounced like the second word. These guys are Irish Bostonians.
Thank you for the clarification 🙏🏽
@@StaxReacts Nah, they are from California. The video was filmed in NYC. People just think they are from Boston because of the Jersey. I don't know why, it's not like baseball where people usually only support hometeams.
No, they are from California. Only the Jersey is from Boston ;-)
This same music is on CYPRUS HILL INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE.
Bettt thank you
This was around 91 or 92. Same time as the Beasties Check your head (whatcha whatcha want). I remember drinking a few 40s of O.E. *yuck). listening to this, NWA, Cube, 2 live crew, Beastie boys, LL, and I would usually sneak in some Kool Moe Dee (80s) for a good party.
This song will always remind me of Mrs. Doubtfire
I gotta hear it for sure
this is a reat time classic with which you can make people from all music genres dance
and the pipes those were scottish bagpipes
🔥🙏🏽
Growing up in Boston I had a modicum of Irish pride when this became a hit but of course DJ Muggs largely deserves the credit for that.
🔥🔥🙏🏽
Man, that was a great time for hiphop. House of pain, cypress hill, beastie boys, onyx, delinquent habits, control machete.... . I miss those times and parties... . should check out the album "same as it ever was" from house of pain. great stuff too.

this group was everlast, danny "boy" o'conner, and dj lethal. dj lethal later became the dj for limp bizkit.
🔥🔥🙏🏽
The mix is DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill (the line "You know I got props, from the kids on the hill, and my mom and my pops" is a direct reference to Cypress Hill)
🔥🔥🔥
my favorite beat of ALL times
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
So they play this song before the 4th quarter at every football game at the university of wisconsin/madison. The entire crowd jumps, they had to over-engineer the seats to be able to withstand all that extra shock load. Nice vid dude!
lol, that Screeching Noise is PRINCE.
They sampled his scream from one of his songs. I forget which one exactly.
Ahhhh ok thank you
This song brings back memories when it hit clubs back in 1992. I was a police officer on Maui at the time. Almost every night we were dispatched to a famous club in Lahaina called tsunamis. All hell used to bust loose when Jump played.
🔥🔥🔥🙏🏽
This a DJ Muggs beat, must check out his true band, Cypress Hill "Insane In The Brain" was their biggest, or "Hits From The Bong".
I’ll check it out for sure
Bro, when this came on in the club, we ALL lost our shit and just sterted jumpin! GenX'r from the BX who grew up in all the NYC clubs when this music was just released! I appreciate younger people feelin this music! Bravo! 🤜🤛
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I can't believe you haven't heard this. This is not only one of the biggest rap songs of all time, this is one of the all time biggest songs. It is played at every NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, and esp NCAA Wisonsin football game, out there they even have a special time out and the whole 80 thousand people in the crowd start jumping around and singing along with this song. That and since it has came out, it is still played in every club strip club, wedding party, proms, movies, and video games.
🙏🏽
👍👍👍 PEACE BRO ... GREETINGS FROM VENEZUELA
The singer also went by whitey ford and everlast you should check some of those songs as well.
A good one is “I get by”
I’ll have to check it out
Everlast is also a part of La Coka Nostra too which is another white boy rapper group sick as fuck
🙏🏽🙏🏽🔥🔥
The screech sound is a horn sample from Bob and Earls Harlem shuffle
Everlast. It's all Everlast. ❤
A lot of that footage is from Boston on St. Paddy's day which funny enough goes harder than Ireland. Bagpipes are both Scottish and Irish but originated from the middle east. We're once outlawed by the British as instruments of war because in battle different song could relay messages to soldiers
Wowww I learn something new everyday. Thank you for telling me this
There is also an Italian version of the bagpipe called a zampogna, my great-grandfather was a renowned zampogna player and actually performed at Carnegie Hall- but imo it sounds terrible, the Irish and Scottish ones are much better.
Awesome @Scientific ! I did not know that before, thank you.
DJ Muggs did that beat for someone else but they passed and HoP jumped on it. That instrument is a Sax. Same as on that Public Enemy track. Good react, do Beastie Boys Car Thief next ;)
Ahhhhh ok bettt thank youuuu
Dunno if anyone mentioned this but House of Pain's DJ is DJ Lethal, who went on to be Limp Bizkit's DJ (LB also did a cover of this for the 1998 Family Values Tour cd)
It’s blessing that I was able to be about 15… with baggy ass jeans… and bouncing with my boys in a little West Country English town Friday night disco to this at a yout 🔥🔥
Now in my 40’s and Stiiiilllllll bouncin 😁 JUMP JUMP JUMP 🔥
🙏🏽🙏🏽‼️‼️
Awesome!
Thank you 🙏🏽
You asked about the production. After HoP disbanded, the rhythm section went on to form its own band. See Cypress Hill.
This jam was an early nineties anthem
