    when I was little my mother used to draw all kinds of animal butts for my brother, sister and I. It was such a random thing but we thought it was so funny and now this video reminds me of that. We also had a corgi as our family dog for most of my life, her name was snickers and she was gourgeous. I feel like you made this painting for me specifically lol. Thank you for the awesome tutorial. I will absolutely be followng this one!

    Love it Emily. Just wondered if you would typically wet both sides of the paper if you weren't using a block?

    • @EmilyOlsonArt
      @EmilyOlsonArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not typically. But when you’re doing LOTS of wet in wet it is helpful!

    Emily, my daughter’s Jack Russell terrier is pregnant by the cutest corgi. This is her second litter from him. They didn’t get her fixed fast enough. The first litter of puppies were so sweet and everyone loves them. She has most of this litter sold. They are called something.... I’m trying to think of the name. Oh Co-Jacks. Lol anyway, I don’t know why but I’m assuming you are a Texas girl. I may have read that or heard you say that? Maybe just assumed it? But, if you are interested in one of these puppies I think I can “pull some strings” lol and save you one? For free of course. The mix of the 2 breeds are suppose to make really good dogs. Love all your videos! I need to stop talking about it and get signed up for your classes! We are suppose to be going out of town for a few weeks hopefully when I get back! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us all! I’m going to have to paint this!

    Love it as usual!Do you find that,that watercolor paper is hard to blend colors into one another?I like that watercolor paper because of the size and it being on a block but find it hard to do a flowing kind of look.I like it for animal watercolors but struggle with flowing flowers.I like the price as well,I dont feel bad wasting the paper if I don't like it.when I don't like the painting on archer's I feel bad because its expensive. Any tips or do you think it just takes time?Thanks for sharing.

    • @EmilyOlsonArt
      @EmilyOlsonArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t struggle with blending on a block vs a sheet-but I have had to try a lot of papers and use them over and over to get a “feel” for them, discover my preferences, and just really learn how they respond. Sometimes you have to tweak your techniques a little depending on the paper. This does just take time and practice-and it’s definitely a bummer when you paint something on expensive that’s ultimately a failed painting. But if your goal is to truly improve as an artist, you can’t let fear of ruining the paper stop you!

    I struggled to do this 😩 hard to control the paint. Still gauging the wetness levels

    • @EmilyOlsonArt
      @EmilyOlsonArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you'll try again! Gauging the wetness and dryness is the hardest part--just takes practice. ;)

    I like painting and most of your, BUT, not much of any butt fan. Fur, hair, technique, just not butts, sorry
