  • As I always say: the only consistent thing about Disney restaurants is that they're inconsistent! And that's why we keep going back to Disney's hundreds of restaurants over and over again -- there's always the opportunity to have them significantly change over time. Today we're talking about six restaurants we've changed our minds about over the past few months based on recent experiences. Hopefully this is helpful to you as you plan your trip!

My mother just got a job at WDW, so now we get to visit for free...
I'm definitely looking forward to that, and watching your videos is just renewing my love for Disney.

Problem I had with Marrakesh was the price! I went there by myself for lunch, and even with a castmember discount, with tip I paid $73. That’s crazy for a lunch.

For a Day Pack (for a single-day visit for EACH person) this is what I've come to put inside:
-- Spare change of clothing (appropriate for the season/weather, in case you get wet from sudden rain, water rides, etc.)
-- Bottled Water (for just in case when you cannot reach a quick-service counter for free water)
      -- Rain Poncho
-- Non-Perishable Snacks (granola bars, fruit snacks, etc.)
-- Personal First Aid Kit (They sell these at Wal-Mart, Target, CVS, etc.)
      -- Sunscreen (a small bottle)
      -- Pocket-Sized Re-charger (one for phones)
-- A Few Gallon-sized Zip-lock Bags (to protect electronics, personal items from getting wet; holding wet clothing, after getting soaked on water rides, etc.).
      -- Packet of Hand Wipes.
-- Small Bottle of Hand Sanitizer.
If you are traveling with a Baby/Toddler, Recommend adding a few Disposable Diapers, as well.
All of the items are ESSENTIAL for any single-day trip to Disney, to help in case of hunger, thirst, sudden rainstorms, etc.

I saw your updated review on Marrakesh a couple months ago, right before I had a reservation there. Decided to keep it. We had a ton of other awesome reservations, and I figured even if one wasn’t as great we’d still have a mostly excellent food experience on our trip. Marrakesh was gorgeous, but yeah, the food was just okay. Glad I’d watched your video so my expectations were low! (Sanaa was our first meal of the trip and it was incredible, and we did lunch at Morimoto Asia our last day, which was also fantastic.) So we’ve checked Marrakesh off our list, but I think we’ll be heading to Spice Road Table for our Moroccan food unless Marrakesh revamps their menu.

Have you ever done a video on best places to eat if you're vegetarian? I know the sit down restaurants always have options, but I went one year and got super light headed because it was so hard to find counter service vegetarian options that weren't just straight up junk food. I almost ended up paying $30 for a buffet just to get a salad so I wouldn't get sick.

I have to say we went to Artist Pointe (Storybook Dining) and we were really disappointed by the mains. I ordered the Kingklip and it was so overcooked it was basically mush, and my friend got a pasta dish which came with tomatoes which weren't on the menu which is a huge pet peeve of mine! The starters and desserts were really good and the character interactions were really cool but we obviously hit them on a off day as I thought the mains were quite low quality!

I agree with what you said about Restaurant Marrakech. My dad was part of the first group of workers that came from Morocco to open the restaurant. My dad was also the first manager there. The quality of the food there has changed sooooo much. On my last visit to Epcot, I went in the kitchen with my dad’s friend that still works there and my dad could just tell that there was a big difference. The food isn’t as Moroccan as it used to feel. I’m also writing this comment on my trip to Morocco lol😂😂

Just ate at Storybook Dining at Artist Point Tuesday night. The drinks, food presentations, decor and the characters were on point. The food itself was a letdown. Chicken was so so dry and the vegetables were hard. If not for our DDP we would not have chosen it. We wouldn’t pay out of pocket for this experience. We have awesome photo memories though. I booked artist point for the character experience so I am happy they changed that.
And the roasters wrap at GE jumped a few points on my list - I am looking for an early morning breakfast thing at my Hollywood and GE day.
And the cupcakes at All Star Music sounds like a great breakfast/early morning snack thing to me since I will be going there.
I hope you can go and do a review of Galaxy Edge in WDW when it opens i late august. Specially on how it is different from the Disneyland one.
I would also be a great thing to know more about the skyline when it is open - Like if its worth taking over busdrive and how it changes the dynamics of the transportation system etc. I plan to use Disney transportation a lot.
It would also help to have a late arrivial and late departure day tip video for those day. I have nothing planed for my arrivial but is there things you can do near All Star to just go and feel the magic a bit? I am also up on the fench if Chef Mickeys is a good last day brunch visit or if its better to have another resturant like California Grill or being in one of the parks for brunch? I am after a kind of "Farewell party" feeling. I am also wondering if any of the miniature golf courses is worth spending time at.
And with planing in mind - How much would you recomend to do park hopping? Is it worth doing or will it eat up pressures park time? I have left my first whole day morning free but since I expect to get out of bed late after the flight from home but I am eager to go and see Galaxy Edge among the first thing I do.
Oh, and I am up on the fence on how Be Our Guest Quick service resturant holds compares to other MK resturants as lunch? I have a 20:40 (is that in the midst of the fireworks?) booking for The Royal Table at Cinderalas castle so I had to go at lunch for BOG. Johan.

I'm not a Disney fan and will not be back to the parks in this lifetime, but some of that food looks great. Have to wonder if Disney would not do well to start opening some of these places across the USA? Even if they run a concept a few years until it dies then change it. Not like there is a shortage of retail space available.

Not sure what happend to Yak N Yeti but no restaurant has fallen off in such a short time. As of October 2018, this was one of if not my familys favorite. We went on Feb 2019 and everything that could have went wrong did. Service was very bad, from misinformation to wrong food to forgetting the water I asked for several times. Dim sum was cold. But that was one bad experience so we went back in May and it was WORSE! What Happend?!?!

I went to The Edison, at Disney Springs in WDW, way back in February and I thought that it was gonna be a steakhouse. Boy was I mistaken, same with my family. We had the shrimp appetizer, and the shrimp was BIG. While I was right about the steaks they had Big Grilled Cheese sandwiches with Tomato basil soup. While the sandwiches were good the soup was subpar for me and lukewarm for my mom. We will definitely be heading back there, don’t know when but we’ll probably be getting just the shrimp.

We went to Restaurant Marrakesh last year and were very disappointed with the food. For one thing, they had a couple things listed on the menu that looked really good, but then we were told they didn't make them. When I asked why they were on the menu, the waiter just looked embarrassed and said it wasn't his fault. lol. It was just a very ordinary meal that we ate to fill us up, not that we enjoyed it. We won't be back...unless we get stuck and can't find any other place, then we'll try it again.

As someone with severe food allergies, I LOVE DISNEY DINING. However, when we stayed at the All-Star Movies resort, their food court was disappointing. While they did have a chef come out and talk to me about my allergies it was not very well organized. For example, I ordered and paid for a meal before I knew if I could even eat it, which of course I couldn’t. Also, the chef I talked to treated me more like an inconvenience than a paying customer. I’ve come to expect a lot from Disney Dining and their allergy accommodations, so the World Premiere food court was extremely disappointing. :(

Nine Dragons is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is relaxing, and it's in a good spot at Epcot.

If you are going with 20 ppl, I definitely recommend the dining plan. Have water and snacks sent to your hotel. Pack a poncho, sweater, and bathing suit for any type of weather. Make sure to take bandaids with Neosporin and Advil or Tylenol for emergency circumstances! Other than that, you're good and can buy there!! Have a great trip! Make sure to stop of at bargain world or character warehouse for discounted Disney merchandise!

If you can afford it, I always recommend park hopper tickets for a number of reasons, and all the more so if you're in a big group - if you want to have a big meal together in one of the parks, for example, it will be helpful for people to be able to do their own thing at whatever park they want and then be able to come to the park selected for the meal. If not, everyone will have the spend the whole day in that park regardless of their other plans.

I haven't heard a specific date. I've just heard that it will be open in time for the 50th anniversary of WDW's opening in 2021.

Artist point already changed the menu and did not have a few things you mentioned in your review when we went May 2. The kids chicken was undercooked and looked like a McDonald’s grilled chicken patty. The kids refused to eat it and I didn’t make them! The only thing they enjoyed was the string cheese and that’s a pretty penny to pay for string cheese 😂 The adult meals were great and appetizers were great, I just don’t recommend the kids food!

I took my mom to Disney World, been wanting to take her somewhere cool while I still can. The trip was horrible, the airport was closed in frigid weather for two hours, our flight schedule was so tight I couldn't even stop to get us some burgers and fries, and let's face it, we all know those little bags of pretzels are not going to do anything for anyone's hunger.
When I get hungry I get feral, and it was six hours.
But the whole trip I'm keeping it together because I really don't want to take it out on the Disney staff, I don't want to punish my mom, and as expensive the trip is, I don't want to ruin the trip for myself. So I am holding my temper in check if just barely.
We get checked in, we get in line at Scat Cat's, which isn't large fortunately. No, I didn't get the boozy beneigts, six hours starving? That is a stupid idea. No, I got the beneigts with chocolate ice cream and caramel sauce because I deserve it. The anger and rage that had been building up? Gone, just like melted ice cream.

I went to Artist Point in 2017 and it wasn’t great at all. The appetizers were so subpar. The dessert sucked. The steak was delicious, but it was 3 hours of sitting there in a dark depressing restaurant with basic service for a roller coaster experience. Mediocre-great-mediocre. I’m really glad they changed it. I have reservations for story book dining later this year and I’m excited to trynit

According to Merriam-Webster, the word pedestrian has been used as an adjective since 1716. It meant commonplace or unimaginative.

I've tried the jambalaya at sassagoula French Quarter recently it was AWfull dried rice with saggy sausages and not really spicy -
It was disgusting my wife had the shrimp and grits and she couldn't finish it it was so greasy that it make her sick - definitely not a good experience. - the only good item I tried is the beignets !

    • @gondorbunny
      @gondorbunny 5 ปีที่แล้ว

I have found the Jambalaya at House of Blues in Disney Springs to be quite good. Spicy but not too spicy, and when I had it it was moist and flavorful. It's a main entrée instead of an appetizer, though...so be prepared for an entrée price tag.

Yeah, I miss Artist Point. They had an awesome filet and that mushroom soup!!! Going to forever miss the mushroom soup. 😭 One restaurant that I used to LOVE was Citrico’s at Grand Floridian. Now I’m finding it to be just meh. Last few times we went there, the steaks weren’t prepared well and that celery root soup was horrible. I’m sure it will change again before too long...they always do. Thank goodness Le Cellier is still AWESOME!
