Quick tip for removing pvc frames, cut into the corners of the frame...only 5mm, place an hatchet in cut, strike the rear of the axe with a lump hammer. This splits the weld points on frame. Chisels, bolsters also work by the hatchet is by far the best. Axe can be blunt as a butter knife and works, so dont bother Sharpening, the wedge shape action is all that's needed. The curve of blade and size of bit is perfect for 50, 60, 70mm frame profiles. Hope this helps someone. ........obviously remove the glass first 😂
I had my windows fitted by a reputable company. The job was good but not great. I took the inside reveal strips off so I could paper up to the window and across the top you could look outside. I am keen on diy and wish I had brought them and fitted them myself. Thanks to you guys and You Tube I think I would have made a better job. You two are true craftsmen because you care about what you do. Superb job. Keep up the good work. Thumbs up.
I have spent the last 12 years manufacturing windows and doors, specifically double glazing and special lead design and shaped units. But at 32 years old I have just handed my notice in and beginning my "apprenticeship" with installation. I've found your videos mega helpful and made me feel a little more clued up. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
I’m a window fitter and it seems the job is completely different between England and Scotland, up here almost all windows sit behind the external render and are fully finished internally Cill, ingo, facing etc
It’s good to see another tradesmen taking pride in upvc window fitting, top job lads! I used to use whs halo/system 10 after using rehau since my apprenticeship years. Where using Camden products now and I would highly recommend m8 if you ever fancy a change
Hi mate I love the window n door jobs please keep them coming n all sorts work you do too pls keep them coming in these lockdown times etc I m retired now from tube driver in London so I need your vids Thanks
A fantastic video, some great tips for other tradesmen but also for your average joe showing us what to look for when tradesmen are actually doing the work Cheers Stu!
just got an apprenticeship for window fitting and doors (joinery comes along with it) starting on monday and this video has made me have high hopes 👍 defo a well deserved subscribe
Stu, I watch your videos for one main reason. You take pride in what you do. That sadly is a very rare trait with all trades today. I am so sick of the bodgit and scarper attitude.
Quality videos stu Mabey you should do a day in the life sometime soon e.x for getting into the van at the start and the end , cheers keep it up lad 👍🏻🤙🏻
Great work dude! I am just starting a small carriage house over here in Canada and I'm going to try to uploading the process. Starting with pour the concrete, wood framing the walls, floor system and roof system, installing the Windows, doors and finishing the exterior. Hope you can find time to take a look. A plasterer from Wigan thanks mate I'm enjoying seeing good work in my hometown 👍
Hi stu I have a question, what would you say if an installation manger said that if the bubble on the level is touching the line, within reason it’s level? And would you have any confidence in them putting your windows in level?
One tip I‘ve got for you is to keep the plastic protectors on the frames until the job is complete as it prevents scratches, other than that very tidy job mate keep it up👍
Ah I get what you mean mate, I’m a window fitter by trade and watching through this and a couple other of these types of videos of yours and couldn’t fault you pal, good honest tradesman. Seems to be a dying breed these days
Great watching your vids great for info I’m going to be fitting a new window on my upstairs bedroom as the glass seal has gone and doesn’t shut the best we’re do u get ur windows from is it just a local supplier or off the net looking for recommendations
Great tools stu,id have thought they would have sent you tools of the same brand, all them different chargers is my worst nightmare 😂😂😂. Keep up the good work
Cracking job boys, can I ask - when you fix your window units I see you drill the hole then screw straight in do you ever use plugs or can you link the screws you use cheers
Hello friend ... how are you ?. good work and good tools. I like the way you work in the north ... on both sides of the ocean. You are fast, effective and do not get complicated. It may be that the work is not so easy but watching the video is easy. I really like the tools ... especially dewalt. I can always buy some by ebay. Once I bought a london brick trowel .... it arrived right from england. Here there is none of those and I like to work as you do ... so I bought it. Nobody works like that on these sides ... a mason who was watching me in silence, after a while he asked me ... if I was Australian. I always say that if you can not do things on your own ... you have to copy the best ones. Although it is not like them .. sure is fine. One question ... the man who helps you ... is your father? It seems nice. It reminds me of a character I saw on the benny hill show ... heh heh. for the 80s. (do not tell him). A hug and a good weekend for both
Worked with all types of guys all good having a crack that's what matters off to work we go Kevin pulled me to one side and said ask Tom for a brew pretend it's boiling hot ask Tom how does his flask keep it so hot his reply was he double boiles the water see what I mean
I think it's good work to get into. I'm a helper and I dont have to work a 9 to 5 to pay my bills and I love it. I help work on one house a day and me and my boss head home. When I have enough experience I'm going to do it on my own. It all comes down to what you value in a career.
Quality job. I’ve seen some disgusting installs recently. Like leaving some of the old rotten timber frames in because they did a crap job measuring up.
I hope you don't mind, just a couple of questions, in know you're a bricklayer by trade stu, is K.C. Also a bricklayer or does he have a different trade? And do you know where the name kango came from?
The name kango came from a brand called kango who made concrete breaking equipment in the early days of power tools. Much like a petrol saw that people tend to call a 'stihl saw'

This is one of the best window fitting videos I've seen, the wood packer above the arched window and the trim finish excellent.

Stu, I watch your videos for one main reason. You take pride in what you do.
That sadly is a very rare trait with all trades today.
I am so sick of the bodgit and scarper attitude.
Thanks buddy appreciate you watching
What amazes me is that here in the US, new windows come with the glass already installed.
Godsend those multitools for jobs like cutting that plaster strip back :)
Hi mate superb video! Just wondering why don’t you screw in the plastic packers in between the glass and the unit so they don’t move ?
Another fantastic video stu.well done to u and KC and nice Bluetooth speaker 😁👍🏻😁👍🏻😁👍🏻

Quality videos stu Mabey you should do a day in the life sometime soon e.x for getting into the van at the start and the end , cheers keep it up lad 👍🏻🤙🏻

Do you not need to be able to clean from inside or fire escape upstairs windows?

Hi stu I have a question, what would you say if an installation manger said that if the bubble on the level is touching the line, within reason it’s level? And would you have any confidence in them putting your windows in level?
Top work again stu and it's "stocking on a chickens lip" 👍
One tip I‘ve got for you is to keep the plastic protectors on the frames until the job is complete as it prevents scratches, other than that very tidy job mate keep it up👍
We prefer to take the tape off on the ground as it can be hard work reaching on ladders. Sometimes we leave it on when pointing up 👍
Ah I get what you mean mate, I’m a window fitter by trade and watching through this and a couple other of these types of videos of yours and couldn’t fault you pal, good honest tradesman. Seems to be a dying breed these days

recently subbed, loving the bricklaying vlogs however I'm a bit weird in that I love watching window and door install vlogs so no complaints here!
Lovely job as always. Love the arch tip cheers!
Hey. Fitter window is harder profession than bricklayer?
Greetings
Noticed there is a vent above that back door.
Could be combustion ventilation for a boiler.
If so would need replacing.
Top videos 👍🏽
It’s just a vent buddy no boiler
Shouldn't the upstairs windows be bottom opening for fire regs?
the area of the opening is sufficient with regs
Interested in where you got your windows from
Great tools stu,id have thought they would have sent you tools of the same brand, all them different chargers is my worst nightmare 😂😂😂. Keep up the good work
Cracking job boys, can I ask - when you fix your window units I see you drill the hole then screw straight in do you ever use plugs or can you link the screws you use cheers
