The Irony here is I had a female Dr for 20 years and she never explained any of this to me- but today a MAN tells me wtf I've been doing wrong this whole time! 😏Thank you, Dr Axe ❤
Ha! EXACTLY!!! I went to the top endocrinologist here and not even SHE could help me with my symptoms. I'm so sorry, but doctors are bloody useless! :/
Stopping sugar and carbs helped my hot flashes! If I backslide and have some bread, (even Ezekiel) or a sugary treat during the day, I will feel it that night...Ugh!
He knows what his talking about. Most people have been taught to eat wrong and they haven’t tamed their taste yet. Don’t worry we all were but you can all change that. I love your page.
Dr. Axe, thank you for this wonderful information. Many physicians are clueless about women's health and especially "menopause". I commend you for taking interest in women's health. Thank you.
I'm finally starting to get to where my hot flashes and hormonally-induced, transitory-but-very-bothersome mood changes are calming down. There is hope, ladies! I credit a few different things, but here are the ones I think made the most difference: black cohosh root (started with root and eventually went to extract, which I've now halved the dose on), soy capsules, soy foods, evening primrose oil, very healthy, clean eating, juicing, taking a good array of supplements that help your cells operate well and efficiently, regular exercise, meditation, yoga, and accupressure. For the insomnia, which was horrible, I seem to have gotten a lot of relief from powdered magnesium, one half tablespoon every night in half a cup of tart cherry juice, which helps increase melatonin, which is essential to a good night's sleep. Your mileage may vary - please check with your healthcare practitioner and God bless! ;-)
I know this an old video, but I’ll take my chance on a response. 🤞I’m 51 yrs old menopause symptoms are trying to take over my life! I’m going through it! I just want to feel normal again.. 😭 I think I have every symptoms you name! Even so, I hear most women going through menopause have hot flashes... It’s a total opposite for me, I get extreme bad cold flashes to my bones which makes my bones ache.. I have to keep a heat pad on my feet along with a heated blanket. I get tingling, numbness, burning sensation in my lower legs down to my feet. As well as tingling in my hands and fingers. Anxiety was going through the roof until I got a low dose of lexapro. I couldn’t even drive without having a panic attack. 🙆♀️ Do anyone else have these symptoms going through menopause? I have a female doctor she’s been going through this with me off and on for years.. Bless her heart.. However, I’m convinced now she’s thinks I’m either losing it or I’m just making up my symptoms. Please cover a total hysterectomy that includes removal of one ovary before entering natural menopause, and the use of hormones being peri menopausal and the use of (progesterone) without a uterus. The Benefits of Progesterone Treatment After Hysterectomy- “While the conversation regarding progesterone after menopause has largely focused its impact on the uterus, the medical community is increasingly recognizing the value of progesterone beyond the endometrium. Most importantly, progesterone is associated with a plethora of critical central nervous system functions, and the dramatic drop in progesterone that follows bilateral oophorectomy may have a significant impact on mood, cognition, and neurogenesis. In fact, multiple studies have found strong evidence of progesterone’s neuroprotective effects. As one research cohort from the University of Southern California notes:
