I have had my 3070, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD Legion 5 Pro for over a year now and it's hands down the best laptop I ever had. I upgraded the Wifi card to an Intel AX210 model and dropped in a second 1 TB. Love it for gaming and photo editing. I see myself keeping it for a couple of years.

      Hey man
      Need some advice here.
How does the legion hold up these days for you?
Any hinge issues of any kind, or any other problem you faced?
I'm at the very edge of making a purchase desicion, and with the budget that I've got, I'm looking at either the legion 5 pro variant mentioned in this video, which is now 2 years old, and the 2022 Zephyrus G15 which is the last years model.
I'm a casual user. Not going too hard on the content creation aspect. I wanna game on something reliable and something that'll satisy without any issues whatsoever, and I fear the Zephyrus might end up under performing cuz its a thin laptop. They do have dynamic boost for the zephyrus but users have said that the CPU gets only like 10W of power and that can cause stutter in that regard. What would you advice me to go for mate?
I'm gonna end up paranoid if it goes on like this💀

Hey I think I could use your opinion, I’m debating getting this over the 13in M1 MacBook Pro. I was considering the “Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16 165Hz QHD IPS G-Sync Ryzen 7 16GB RAM 1TB SSD RTX 3070”. I’d basically be using it for the same thing as you plus programming with python and c++, game development with 2D and 3D Game modeling. Hi Ben. Just wrote on social media about how the most compact 200w charger for my HP Victus i can find on the market is the one that comes bundled with it. Maybe it would be fun to rank bundled chargers of different laptops, from ultralight to gaming, and/or to suggest a 3rd party alternative that might be more interesting (like some from companies like Anker, Innergie, Ugreen, etc). While these things are fine at home, but they are cumbersome when travelling, which is the point of getting a laptop in the first place.

Been using mine for 2 years straight used daily at work. 3070 2x1tb 32gb ram. Watching this right now on it. Love this machine . Have had 25-30 Alienwares over the years and this was my first non Alienware laptop .. and the biggest reason was the screen resolution and refresh rate. At the time Alienwares were still 16:9. since the m17xr2s 1920x1200 format I’ve been disappointed.
I modified an Alienware 240w slim in place of the 300w ancient brick.
Aesthetically I love the tri logo. Not interested in newer versions because they don’t have it and my next machine likely will be an Alienware. I use iskin skin on the lid and Palm rest (white lid, dark brushed palm).
I don’t use the trackpad been disabled since day 1. Harpoon wireless with the usb dongle in the rear where it doesn’t protrude which is great. Also love the power input being on the rear. Will never buy a machine that has it on the side.
Don’t care about the speakers I picked up a second pair of anker liberty2 pro to use when I game.
Is it perfect ? No .. I wish the screen was just a tad brighter.
I get about 1 hr straight of Fortnite tethered to my iPhone on performance mode at 165fps no problems while sitting in the M4 waiting for the kids to finish soccer practice ( 2 hour practices inside schools where parents aren’t allowed inside).
I picked up an EcoFlow river 2 that gives me 2 hours of battery plugged into it , and the laptop can give me an extra hour if need be on battery.
    Solid machine ✅

I have both, will return one. I am with Ben, in that I prefer the understated style of the 5i Non Pro. And I slightly per intel (ie. Thunderbolt 4). But it is hard to pass on the 16:10 1440p display of the Pro. Plus, the Pro comes with 32gb (slow?)RAM (can upgrade to on Non Pro as well). Does anyone have any advice or recommend?

Two of the serious negatives, leaving apart personal preferences such as dont like the design or don't like it's weight......they definetly are the slower 1x16 ranked ram and the poor quality of trackpad used.
The ram stick will be a little letdown for heavy tasks, whereas the trackpad really starts to be a little annoying after some use where u can feel going from smooth and slippery to smudged and sticky.

Faced with such a problem on Lenovo Legion 5 Pro:
During normal use of the laptop, it works quietly, the fans turn slowly (the cooler speed is 1800 rpm), temperature is 40-50.
I run something demanding on the processor (aida64 stability test) temperatures increase to 80.
After resetting the load, the laptop's speed is not reset to comfortable (1800 rpm), but is kept at 1900 rpm (the temperature is the same as before 40-50)
and so constantly, which creates discomfort and fan noise.
Tell me, please, maybe you have encountered how to solve this, previously everything was stable, and after loading the laptop worked at 1800 rpm of the cooler in the browser
and not difficult tasks, and it was comfortable to work? Thanks for the review!

    • @xkimopye
      @xkimopye 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@HardstuckFragger I actually agree with him.
My old Toshiba laptop is ten years old and is a lot more solid than new laptops. Which is probably why it is still strong for something ancient. When I see the new laptops I worry that they look so thin and light that they would be fragile, which seems to be the case, you do hear it is quite common for people to damage their screen with frequent opening and closing with modern thin laptops.
And as for why I’m not bothered by its weight, well my laptop won’t be leaving my house, and will only occasionally be moved from one room to the other.
But I can totally understand why people who take their laptops away from home prefer lightness over rigid-ness.
3 months ago I was laptop buying for the first time in a decade and I said to the salesman, do you have anything thicker, he pointed me to the Nitro 5, that’s when I became interested in looking for a gaming laptop.

The Speed Read and Write between SSD M.2 nvme pcie 3.0 and SSD M.2 nvme pcie 4.0 is really huge.
    SSD M.2 nvme pcie 3.0 = can read (3.500 MB/S)
