Agreed. When I first noticed that the pronouns were switched, I was expected that line to simply be changed to "...so much stronger than a woman." But there would have been that extra syllable in there and doing it that way would have sounded rushed perhaps. Changing the line to "...so much stronger than I am" kept the flow and worked to make the song more personal. Stroke of genius if you ask me. Also, I'd like to give credit to her facial expressions throughout the song. That expressive emotion she shows mirrors the emotion of the song very well throughout.
It's an interesting aspect of Frollo's character: his faith is weak. He claims to follow God but then blames God for "making the devil stronger," forgetting that, according to the Bible, that's not true. Even Cain was told that he could have master over sin, and he didn't have to give in to his anger.
I truly agree that the line with "stronger than I am" is great and fits the female-version very well but for the original the line "better than a man" fits quite well too because regarding Frollo's character I feel like he wouldn't actually blame himself. He still thinks of himself as strong, righteous and strong so it would make sense for him to blame it on someone else.

I LOVE this; especially if you consider it a woman was in a place of power (especially in a time like this) , for her to fall prey to “desire” would be what her male comrades and society would expect of her since she’s a woman, and it would be “typical” of a woman to be swayed by her emotions! There's something really cool about the rewriting of the lines you did. I prefer "he made the devil so much stronger than I am" vs "than a man." Also your vocal power alone is mindblowing, but you do some fantastic acting in this that really draws you in. There are lines that I love your interpretation of.

While other female covers I’ve seen of Hellfire were great, I think what I particularly really like about this one is that the genders are completely reversed. A female Frollo singing about a male Esmeralda, something is just really interesting about it. You’d usually associate lust with a man, while the woman is the desired one, but this time it’s the other way around, and I think it’s a great take on this cover of the song. On top of that, changing up the other lyrics of the song too to fit this cover. And it was sung amazingly.

What an excellent cover of this song! Just found 5 minutes ago. One small thing among the amazing things you did in the song was the choice to use the word "warlock" instead of "wizard". One because warlock I believe is the male term for witch (i think lol). Two because it shows just how deranged frollo has become, thinking that Esmereldo is a demonic creature sent by the devil to test her. Beautiful cover, thank you.

While other female covers I’ve seen of Hellfire were great, I think what I particularly really like about this one is that the genders are completely reversed. A female Frollo singing about a male Esmeralda, something is just really interesting about it. You’d usually associate lust with a man, while the woman is the desired one, but this time it’s the other way around, and I think it’s a great take on this cover of the song. On top of that, changing up the other lyrics of the song too to fit this cover. And it was sung amazingly.
This in my opinion is the best female cover of Hellfire you did an amazing job and have a beautiful voice

This is by far my new favorite cover of Hellfire~ The Hunchback of Notre Dame is my favorite Disney movie, and you did this song so much justice.
Amazing facial expression when asking for mercy from God at the end! Such phenomenal singing too! I do wish it was slower but you explained it had to be sped up due to copyright infringement so it's fine. Overall, I really enjoyed this cover. Keep up the amazing work!

I love this! I've always wanted a version that changes the lyrics to fit a woman's perspective, all the other female overs keep the same words, it just doesn't work keeping them the same.

Haha, she must be a fan of my cover version, because "you know I am a righteous man" to "you know of my righteousness" and also "you made the devil so much stronger than a man" changed to "you made the devil so much stronger than I am" are the exact changes I made in mine! She even sang the syllables the same way I did. (The opening line has one less syllable than the original so the phrasing is slightly different.) So cool to see my lyric edits used here on such a popular vid :D

What an excellent cover of this song! Just found 5 minutes ago. One small thing among the amazing things you did in the song was the choice to use the word "warlock" instead of "wizard". One because warlock I believe is the male term for witch (i think lol). Two because it shows just how deranged frollo has become, thinking that Esmereldo is a demonic creature sent by the devil to test her. Beautiful cover, thank you.
