- You do not need special tools ( could scratch ), just a simple Normal duct tape and chopstick to hold on and turn. It maybe use to open bottles' lid etc. Maybe you can use other tape that you have at home. Won't work on smaller watches because the surface area of the back. Also note, if you do send your watch for servicing, inform the shop keeper not to over tighten the back lid ( most of them do ). This causes the rubber to deform and also, the moving parts (for kinetic or automatic ) might hit the cover's inside.
Thank you. You've just saved me £££££ i was just about to spend £1.99 on a removal tool but now because of your video i bought £3.99 duct tape instead.
Actually my latest method is to use... glue stick( transparent type not glitter)
Melt glue stick on jenfga block or similar stick to the cleaned watch back. Wait and turn. Its reuseable also. Thx
La meilleure façon d’abîmer une montre😂
Thank you so much for your video - I have a Tommy Hilfiger watch and I to change battery. I bought tools for the operation. But I could not open the watch. Yesterday I saw your video here on youtube and this was the soltion: I HAVE OPENED THE WATCH AND NEW BATTERY IN AND THE WATCH ARE READY TO THE THE TIME !!
you are welcome. i have also posted another video, using glue gun, which can be reuseable.
I liked the music. Lol. Neat trick! Thanks so much for sharing! I hope it will work for me as well. Blessings! 😊
Was in a jam and didnt have any tools to open my watch, this worked!!! Thank you
You are welcome, btw, i have uploaded another video, this time using stick glue
Does this work I’ll say it does!!!! 😃. I was having a real problem with the back of a watch and I didn’t know if it was a clip off or a screw thread. Well, it doesn’t seem to matter, I didn’t have a chop stick but instead used a small modellers file wrapped in a bit of masking tape to protect the back plate from scratches. The back turned within a second or so and it was a screw thread. To replace the back I stuck the duck tape lightly on to the back plate and it was done in seconds. Well done for this 😃😃
You used your initiative, that is what DIY about. Alternatively, i have another video, using stick glue, must easier and reusable. These method, may not be suitable for see thru back, thanks.
Tried it useless it just ripped not a strong enough method
Yours must have been loosened already. Won't budge mine.
I did add some WD40, but i doubt it made any different. This watch back do not have any notches, and i do not want to spend money buying the special tool just for the sake of this one watch. I got the idea from a guy who used double sided duck tape and a glass, so Duck tape does work. Thanks for watching my video
Hi, i have just uploaded another video that i think might work for you. Glue Stick. After reading your feedback, i am thinking of a better way, It is true that turning the chop stick needs quite a skil. All the best trying.
This only works in cheap watches or a watch that the lid is not tight. If you manage to open a high end watch good for you, now you will not be able to close it tight and that becomes a problem.
It works with your tricks, thanks Sani Kam.
can we do with a tape
Duck Tape works fine just ball it up like a small base ball size (smaller than a small base ball but not to small, small enough to cover the whole back and big enough to grip) stick it on the back press and turn, make sure it sticks good or else it wont work
For a Screw Back Watch try a good sized blob of “blue tac” on the back of watch and turn slowly, worked for me, also no need for sellotape as placing watch face down on a soft towel will protect the face.
Blue tag, that is also a good alternative, but i think i will stick to my second submission
= glue stick. thanks for the suggestion
@@sanikam6079 Hi, yes glue stick, excellent idea, never thought of that one👍🏻
It didnt look very tight did it
*Very smart! Very practical! Best Tip of the Year!*
remember that some of the homages and fakes with this RLX type of caseback are actually snap-on casebacks. First inspect the edge using a lupe. If there is a tiny lip near the lugs get a knife and lift it up from under there... you may need a case press to c!ose it again, but some close easily too.
Vert true...I scratched my watch back that was a fake screw type. It had a tiny notch to pop it off.
The first time do either of de❤
thanks mate. it worked
So hereby I confirm that those who use correct tools are FOOLS including myself.
Me too
Too bad it doesnt work...
Good idea. Will not work on backs that are tight properly. Will work on cheap watches tho.
Honestly, brilliant so easy 👍
thanks, but i prefer my newest method of using stick glue, which is reusable
@@sanikam6079 Sani, it worked. 👍 its not been working for 2 years cheers
That's on a simple snap off back, you can open it very easy, try a screw of back and see if you can do it.
This trick will work ONLY if the back case cover is NOT properly, securely and tightly screwed onto the case.
It will NOT work on a Rolex which needs a special opening tool.
If you have a waterproof Rolex, like the Submariner, test this method here and then share your results.
I bet that you will not be able to remove the Rolex back cover.
Hi John, you are smart, i admit, this method is a bit tricky, one have to transfer or focus all the Qi energy onto the point of contact, which is the back case and turn it.
This Tudor blackshield, the back cover is similar to Rolex.
I also have another video (better method) in which i use a stick glue (reuseable) to open it, basically melt some glue on the solid back, use a flat piece wood or something to grip.
Most of my DIY are using cheap daily items, once you master this method, you can help friends to change battery at 1/3 the price shops are charging..
If you can afford Real Rolex $$$$, you can afford to send to the shop.
Your case back is not screwed...so no need to unscrew!
This is a screw type back, Tudor Black shield. I do not use this method anymore as i have an even better method - stick glue. look it up, maybe it can also be use to open the non screw type.
@@sanikam6079 Tudor Black Shield with a battery?? Your watch is a fake Tudor...the real Black Shield has an automatic movement!
@@schnaps54 yes, i know, someone gave it to me for free, because one of the round ring came off,
Good music!
Mind blowing trick 🔥🔥👍
thank you kind Sir, i have also uploaded similar video only this time, i use stick glue, which can be reuse again and again.
If back is loose it works
TNT it will also loosen nothing as well... but all! Still a solution and allso not a good one! but you will not have a stuck back on the watch anny more =D
That's brilliant- have so many defunct watches due to battery failure - thanks x
you are welcome Kelly, i have another video in which i use Glue Stick , which i think is more economical, because the glue can be reuse.
Bby ,it s sound hilarious.I am tryieng .but look like a miracle..😃🤔👍
No need for the double sided
i just discovered and posted another easy method, stick glue.
Was this video filmed with a potato?
how did you know ? its the idea that is important. maybe next time i use 8K video quality to show pple how to clean potato.. Thanks for watching

Brilliant...thank you!
Great
Taking off a band of a Rolex ladies watch
Why even use a chopstick? The duct tape is sticky enough to let your two fingers turn the back off. That watch back wasn't even tight in this video. It's staged
Whats with the cheezy sound track? Another wannabe movie maker but interesting...lmao😅
R u kidding me?? Tape and stick ripped off....wth...lmao
My daddy always said if you can't duct it f*ck it.
hi, your daddy must be wise and rich. take it as a challenge. still there is another video, which i used a glue stick. check it out.
Lots like a Elon Musk invention
If you own watches, do yourselves a favor and by a watch repair kit. They go for about $30 on line. They're not professional grade but will do the trick for basic watch maintenance. They come with all the tools needed to properly and safely open and close varying case backs (screw on/snap on).
These kits sure beat duct tape, chop sticks, Bisquick, ball bearings or any other "tricks/hacks".
Proper tools make all the difference. ✌🏽
You are right. But the fun lies in thinking out of the box.. DIY. Fyi i recently bought a spoilt fossil chronograft quartz for $15. Bought a replaced new battery myself. Second hand not moving.... i use neodyme magnet, placed at the back with paper to prevent scratch. It moved.... that was 2 weeks ago.
@@sanikam6079 Well done!✌🏽🎅
Nobody comes on TH-cam to read a screen, that's what Google is for.
Just an fyi if you didn't already know.
Thank you for your comment. I tried to make or show a simple project, so that those who are hearing impaired, or dyslesis can understand. Some people find it easier to focus without the distracting music etc. In my future project, i will show the finish product first, so that those who got the idea do not have to waste time looking at how it is made. Thank you once again for understandin
