  • This is how I learned to do the hand-cut basket weave. I use three tools! well 4 if you count a straightedge.
    Barry King checkered beveler, size 3.
    Barry King vertical lined thumbprint, size 2.
    Swivel knife, this is an Amazon model with a 3/8" straight blade.
    I'm working on a wristlet wallet designed by twentythreeplus.com.

      @@thornhollow I have taken a couple of the free classes at Tandy -nothing at this level but haven’t spent a ton of time practicing- there always seems to be something else with a higher priority!

      @@thornhollow I have already tried it and it turned out okay but your work is so much better. Next time I do it I'm going to try your technique of feathering out the design on the individual squares with the vertical thumbprint. That really gives it so much more life. I love it! You were the first "girl" leather tooler I found on YT. Your work is incredible.

    Very very nice work looks great , I’m not trying to correct you on anything but you might invest in a hair blade there really nice to have in your set , used lightly on a angle it has a cool look too, I loved how thorough you were in the video. Great job please keep up the videos. Thanks 😇🎚️

      Thank you for the suggestion. I have something similar to a hair blade I use on feathers. Have not tried it on the weave.

    What brand is your swivel knife blade?

    • @thornhollow
      @thornhollow  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This one is an Amazon. BUT properly sharpened it cuts a nice straight line. 3/8" straight thick blade.

    I tried this once, took me about 3 squares to screw up the bevels 😅

    What bevaler are you using

    • @thornhollow

      Barry King checkered beveler #3.

      @GodfrinFNP 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why checkered vs lined vs smooth?

    • @thornhollow
      @thornhollow  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GodfrinFNPit leaves some texture for antique to grab usually is the reason. I have checkered bevelers is the other reason.
