I recently bought a large selection of leather stamps for work on polymer clay. Thank you for so many wonderful ideas of various ways to use the stamps. For the leather Crafters looking for an inexpensive way to play with designs, they might want to consider a small pack of polymer clay (which never dries out or cures until you bake it) to play around with trying various designs without wasting any leather. Just dampen the polymer clay slightly with water so the stamp doesn't stick to the clay, and hand press the stamp into the clay. The only other thing you would need is an acrylic roller to roll out the polymer clay. Once you're done with your design you can either bake it for a permanent sample, or re-roll it out for the next time you want to play around trying various combinations of stamps. It might save someone a lot of money on leather.
Thank you for sharing Johan, i've only started leather crafting recently and your ideas for maximising the use of stamps are amazing and everytime I watch your videoes, I learn something new. Well done.
Thank you very much I bought a whole bunch of leather stamps cuter for the finger swivel cuter I just don't know how to use them they must be a hundred or so. I've been doing leather for 5 years think I'm ready to do some tooling now any help is appreciated 🙏
I loved this video, thank you for making it! I do have a few questions, how do you finish a basketweave pattern? e.g. is it possible to create a two tone colour effect? Can you stitch a piece of leather that has a basketweave pattern on it? Do you use antique on basketweave?
@@leatherworker Thanks. ordered one. Do you have a book or pdf on your border ideas. Im 70 and can't remember what I want to.. Thanks for the videos. !!
