@Evelyn Matthew You're Entitled to think that of Elvis- which is Incredibly low- but it's an insult to him and he is seeing that you actually believe that. You're not giving any credit to the Beautiful Wonderful times had After 1972...SAD that you are stuck in that mindset.

a close friend had a sister that was crazy about elvis and had all his records. and she was a little slow but such a sweet girl anyway, she died a few years ago but they made a program for her funeral and to my surprise the majority of the pictures was her visiting graceland, mind you she rarely left the house in her lifetime and for him to get her out the house and take her to graceland was such a surprise to me and i told my buddy only elvis could have gotten out the house. may she rest in peace.

I know from first hand experience that it was possible for gate guard to invite fans in to sightsee the property.
In early November '72 my father and I stopped at Graceland while driving across country to Texas. I was 9 and crazy about Elvis so Dad took me there as a surprise.
We arrived late evening and my dad struck up a conversation with the guard on duty who told us Elvis was on tour. Man was I bummed at that news. Upon learning my dad was in Federal law enforcement the guard said Elvis was into that and, were he home, would probably want to meet him. Now I was really bummed! He told us to come back the next morning.
The guard on duty the next day was Elvis' Uncle, I think it was Vester. He let us roam free around the property and take as many pictures as we wanted with the only restriction that we be respectful and not knock on the door of the main house. We saw the cars and bikes in the car port, the pool, meditation garden, Vernon's back office, etc.
Somewhere hidden away in my dad's garage is a collection of film slides documenting that day. We are sadly estranged now but one day I pray that changes and we'll pull out those pictures and reminisce about our amazing day together at Graceland.

In 1968 I moved up to the farm. We used to see Elvis and the guys on motorcycles at night outside of Graceland. We always hollered at him and he always waved he was very nice to us. Hello from England
Although only a short clip of Graceland it is a "snapshot" of the 60's in America. I was born in 1965 so too young to remember most of it but i still love the 60's today for many reasons.
I notice what the girls and boys were wearing. Even with casual clothes they just looked smart. They looked happy and had not a care in the world and they had such wonderful cars and so much fun
In the 50's in England my late parents were living HUM DRUM LIVES. Everything was DRAB and BLACK AND WHITE but by 1961 everyone had JOBS and disposable income and EVERYTHING turned to TECHNICOLOUR. My parents did not meet till March 63 and married September 63
I doubt Elvis was at Graceland at the time his film was taken?

I personal would not like total strangers always in my driveway and on my porch, trying to open the door and looking in. It seems like a total invasion of privacy and possibly rude. I have pictures of my Grandparents on the front porch with their hand on the door , like they were going to open it. This was back in the early sixties I suspect. That would be so strange to live like that.
