Assembler/Foundry Manifold Tutorial - Mo Inputs Mo Problems - 3 Efficient Designs in Satisfactory

  • This video presents 3 different efficient manifold designs for Assemblers or Foundries in the game Satisfactory. These tutorials for newer Satisfactory players will help you stay organized as you build more 2 input machines.
    The first design is a how-to guide to do a standard manifold for 2 input Satisfactory machines. The 2nd design introduces the concept of a logistics floor and teaches how to make clean designs with no visible belts. The third method is a hybrid of the two Satisfactory manifold designs that shows a time lapse of my full build for the 480 steel ingots per minute I need for my Fused Modular Frames factory in the Rocky Desert.
    The only thing that I include that is not unlocked in Tier 2 (assemblers) or Tier 3 (foundries) is conveyor floor holes from the Awesome Shop, which only cost 1 ticket
    I hope you like these designs. If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to leave a comment on this video. I love getting feedback on how to make my videos better.

      Thanks Marc. I am happy that my point is coming across. I am a new TH-camr, but I was a college professor, so maybe that helps in some way.
      I definitely have some more content like this coming up. I think my next video I post will be a tutorial about manufacturers.

    Hi! Just in case you didn't know, around 13:35 of the video, you can snap mergers / splitters directly to the elevators. It's not a big deal, and it may look a bit wonky on one of the ends, but it could be useful in some situations. I like your style, I'd love to hear your take on train signals and track separation into blocks. I've watched a lot of tutorials, but I'm still not certain I have a good grasp of the concept. Cheers!

    • @DrLootCrate
      @DrLootCrate  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Thanks for the tip. I did know that one and that slightly wonky look is the only reason I don’t just snap them on. It is definitely faster with the way you mentioned.
      I am not sure I fully understand train signals either! But I do have a pretty extensive network going with a lot of signaling that is working. I will put it on the list for future videos. Thanks for the suggestion!

  • @goodisnipr

    I'm hoping U7 has the conveyer ceiling mounts. But, I hope that they think about how we'll install splitters/mergers from ceiling too.

    • @DrLootCrate
      @DrLootCrate  ปีที่แล้ว

      It does have the ceiling mounts! Very handy. It would be great if you could “sticky” the splitters/mergers on the ceiling to connect with belts, I haven’t actually tried snapping splitters directly to the mounts on the ceiling. Something to try tonight!

    • @goodisnipr
      @goodisnipr ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Worst comes to it, install the belt longer than needed, then aim at belt to install merger/splitter where needed.

    When you dropped all your logistics to the floor below with the lifters It gave you a lot of extra space in between those units. Try putting glass floor down between so you can see all the splitters and belts in motion below your feet. Not the entire floor just the one or two rows in the center. Just an idea

    • @DrLootCrate
      @DrLootCrate  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great idea! I have done that elsewhere and it really does look cool and it would have made this build a touch better I think

    Great video, have a question about the lift floor holes. I tried using them for the first time just yesterday and they were not showing through the bottom as yours was. Is there a certain size it's only good for? I can't recall if I used 2 or 4M floors I'll have to check next time I'm on.

    • @DrLootCrate
      @DrLootCrate  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! They are a little tricky to use. I remember going on to reddit to figure it out myself when I first unlocked them.
      They will only go through 1 foundation, so if you have a stack of two you won't see the other side. I assume you are talking about not seeing the hole itself.
      If you don't see the lift on the other side. you have to do each side of the floor hole separately - one lift on the top and another on the bottom. You can even chain together holes if you want your lift to go through multiple floors. Let me know if you get it figured out or if you need more help.
      Also, consider subscribing if you haven't already to catch what I have coming next.

    Hi, i don't quite get the first design. I have seen this a couple of times before but it doesn't make sense to me tho...
    The splitter splits off the half of the items goin in, right? And the other half goes further.
    So for example you have an input of 120 Iron ingots and you want 4 Constructors doing ironplates ( 30 ingots/min). So using the first design should cause a problem with the inputs, in our example the first splitter splits off the half of our total input (120÷2=60 ingots going into the FIRST constructor) and the other half (60) going further into the next splitter. So the SECOND Constructor will get a input of 30 ingots/min while the first one is overfloating. It gets problematic when it comes to the third and fourth constructors.
    The third one only will have an input of 15 (30÷2=15) and the fourth one will have an input of 7.5 (15÷2)... so the last ones always get too less ingots per minute, if i am right.
    Am i stupid or everybody else using this design? 😵‍💫😂 pls help

    • @DrLootCrate
      @DrLootCrate  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Elias, I got you dude. I explain this a bit in my “compact manifold” video, but it goes like this.
      In your example, it starts just like you say it does…60 ingots in the first and 60 go down the line to be spit across the other 3 constructors. They will get fewer ingots at first…you aren’t crazy!
      What you are missing is that the first one will fill up because you have 60 ingots coming in and only 30 going out per minute. Once that first machine is filled up, that output of the splitter will only take what it can use - 30 per minute.
      That leave 90 per minute to flow to the next splitter. That is split 45/45. 45>30 so the second machine eventually fills up and that splitter is 30/60.
      The last splitter then splits the 60 to 30/30 and the whole system is running at full capacity. It just takes a few minutes to get full and start overflowing. How fast depends on your belt speed…this is why you always will see me using mk V belts even for lower volume items.
      Hope this helped! It is a good reminder that I probably need to do a video to describe why this whole thing works!
      Thanks for watching
