My wife and I just purchase one for her to replace her Can Am, she's graduated : ) I love two wheels but having the extra traction and stability are very appealing to me and puts this system on the top of my list for alternatives when two wheels are no longer possible for me.
You are an accomplished visionary. Ive been anticipating this technology since I was a teenager. Now I'm in my sixties. Get one of these into a movie, best case scenario a batman accessory , do some manuevers. Until the general public gets an appetite for it I am afraid its still ahead of its time.. Like Jack Northrops flying wing. He got to see its fruition as the stealth bomber but it took so God damn long.
Bob, great instruction. I take exception to your statement that you have more room in a right hand turn. When I turn left, I have a whole 12 ft wide lane to cross to get up to speed or maneuver. In a right hand turn, the curb is right there and I have to round it immediately.
I just bought a Ultra Tri Glide because of leg issues. I didn't get rid of my Street Glide Special and I'm glad and didn't after seeing this video. I have an attachment to my Street Glide and I'll consider getting the tilt lock system.
Absolutely AMAZING.. I was in a motorcycle accident in 2020 and lost alot of strength and balance. The weight of my Harley 103 keeps me from riding now.. this system would completely overcome that.. good job 👏👍
Actually, if you cannot handle your 103 without this modification, you might want to consider a standard trike or different machine. This kit still demands the same strength and skill as a 2-wheeler. Trust me. I own an H-D 103 with this kit installed.
@@larryb7047 I've gained pretty much everything back.. if not more really.. I'm in the gym 5 days a week and my arms have got WAY bigger and FINALLY I've got my balance back.. well mostly, I'd say 85%. I live up north so I'm gonna reevaluate in the spring of 22 and see..
Hi Bob, I'm Bob. That has to be, hands down, the Coolest technology I've seen. I like the Can Am Spider but its not a bike as it can't lean in the turns. Not that I can afford one but even if I could, to me its not the same. I love this, now this is more or just like riding a motorcycle. I have Parkinson's Disease and I know there will come a time when I'll have hang up riding.
I hope Arcimoto doesn't do away with the Trio Motor Works. It looks like a very good 3 wheel conversion. If I convert my bike, I would like to use the TiltLock system.
What a wonderful idea !! I dreamed of a system like that and I searched without believing: and I find you! In addition, your video has just been released :-) The front wheels do not seem very far apart. What is the width of the set? It would go very well on my Street Glide 2017, but here in France, the roads are often narrow... I wonder if the front train would pass between cars: we have the right to drive between cars, in France, to avoid traffic jams . Thank you for your answers (and for the video)!
Is there any future plans to integrate a electric motor or motors for reverse and for regenerative source for a battery bank like I have placed in my Side compartments.
It leans just like a two-wheeled motorcycle. The kickstand keeps it up when not in motion, and your balance keeps it upright when riding, just like two wheels. The only power that's utilized is for the TiltLock system, which is only engaged between 0-7 miles per hour when it's on. A lot of riders chose to ride with it off.
Hi my name is sara.ive been looking into3 wheeled bikes due to last year had 3 major back surgery s and im Titanium fromc2 to tailbone . However i still want to ride. I have a 883 iron and a yamahav star.im really interested.God Bless
Yamaha Niken and Piaggio MP3 can do the 90% same cheaper and have service worldwide. Do you not think their engineers can't make a better Tilt locK. They are waiting to see if there is a market and how many liability lawsuits that attract with your product and theirs may be a reason . Honestly how many self leveling tilt locks are installed on your complete TMW install base.. I tried to get a ride on one of your trained authorized installers and they could not find a full conversion in 3 states. In fact you would have to talk a test ride from a private owner. I looked at the Arcimoto patent you assigned for the Mean lean machine. It did not seemed to have tilt lock means or embodiment. Is tilt lock coming to the E-assist Mean leaner not saying it needs it. The big guys can install tilt lock. I have it in my first patent. Great and inspiring work of love and ingenuity. I have Tilt lock on any scale in multiple technologies and running prototype vehicles if you care to look. Good luck! A rising tide of TTW raises all ships!
I had my GF get of my slow as fuck and I started dropping my Road Glide LOL. The Combined Weight of her (140ish LB) made me struggle to keep it up. IDK wtf she was doing but I was yelling at her to hurry tf up.
Why haven't you guys developed rear tilting wheels? It's doable. There was prototype called the R8 in England that had this and it appeared to work great. Although you do gain CV joints on both sides you also lose the steering geometry problems. th-cam.com/video/mA64zJFUjxk/w-d-xo.html
What's the difference . Yes the 2 forks look clunky compared to Trio but Yamaha has an international reputation. th-cam.com/video/pLsKnCd3Dkg/w-d-xo.html. You do have Tilt lock but for how long?
so u pay 20k for the HD then 10k for the tilting front end. why not just buy a can am spyder for 17k? it already has 2 front wheels and is half the cost.
Because there is no leaning or feeling of actually riding a Harley on a can am. You actually feel like your riding a motorcycle with this. To some if that's all they can do it's worth 10k easy to them.
Three problems I have with it. 1. Two wheels in the front looks silly compared to two wheels in the back. Very subjective I know. 2. Looks like it suited better for short period. No room for pegs. 3. Too many chips/electrical parts to go wrong. Just for a tilt. I can lean for free. Idk, just my opinion.
Mike Johnson So the two front system is definitely better than the two in back and in front system? I can get over the look of it if so. I just want the better system between the two.
Mike Johnson You know, that actually does make a lot of sense. I am no engineer by any means, but the way u explained it has a lot of common sense integrated into it that just makes me see the engineering point as simple fact. Thank u for that. I believe this is how the can am spyder stood its ground against a well oiled machine like the goldwing when it comes to the goldwing trike. Sure, Honda most definitely makes a better engine than can am, all day long, but, a lot of people would rather have the two wheels in the front than in the back. And after reading what you wrote to me, I really am seeing why that is. Thank you so much. I needed this before I made the choice!!
Mike Johnson I am very much looking forward to it!! I hope to get to wing ding next week to check it out!! Do you know if the back tire remains the same as on the honda Goldwing or do they put a bigger tire on it??
It really bums me out that this is basically a toy for rich people. Most of us can't afford a $14,000 mod for our motorcycles. Most of us never even buy a bike worth that much money. Like, this could enable people to ride their motorcycles year round all over the planet. In Canada, we can't ride our bikes for 1/3 of the year (If we're lucky). If I had this, I could just get rid of my car. If his were $4,000 and something I could install myself I would buy it in a heartbeat. Imagine how much people would save on fuel if riding a motorcycle with 3 wheels was a real, practical alternative to owning a car.
And someone else would say the same thing about a $4,000 kit. If you cant afford it then dont buy it. Get a can am spyder or something cheaper. But if you are buying a Harley then you cant be complaining about a $14,000 upgrade because there are WAY cheaper options for motorcycles too
@@fordblue2257 the difference between a $4,000 mod and a $14,000 is VERY big. And motorcycles like the Spyder are, IMHO, much less safe than a tilting motorcycle. You can't shift the weight of the bike around. Not to mention how expensive they are! The problem here is the guy making these is clearly a very rich man. He said himself that throwing out a motorcycle with 4 grand means nothing to him. So why would he be bothered by setting the price so high?
@@PhilipPetrunak i see what you are saying. The point i was trying to make is that $14,000 sounds unreasonable to you and $4000 seems reasonable but to a poorer person a $4000 mod would be super unreasonable and $400 would be more reasonable etc. I will say to me the price does seem hard to reach for an average Joe but when you look at the technology of this kit, the parts etc i was actually shocked it was only $14k. I have seen companies charge insane prices for something that just bolts on which is bullshit however this being a self righting system with speed sensors and the ability to keep the bike perfectly level even on pitched roads etc....i think it would be hard to make all that happen in a kit for $4k. Also if someone was able to make a kit in that price range im not sure i would trust my life on it because all companies are trying to make a profit...the cheaper the more corners they have to cut, cheaper metals. Just my 2 cents
@@fordblue2257 Most motorcycles are around $10,000 if you buy them lightly used. A very cheap motorcycle is around $4000 to $6000. Expensive bikes, new, are near the $30,000 mark. So for a price of $4,000 is more than reasonable considering the nature of the mod. However, this mod is half the price of a premium motorcycle new. It's more expensive than what most people pay for their cars. It's way too expensive.
Now imagine a car with this much agility and maneuverability.
