Thanks for some great scenery and memories from my 2021 adventure into the GRLs area! The road in to GRLs is just like I remember it but the skies were a lot clearer on your drive in. Western blue skies and no smoke! To be honest, the rough road in and out made me slow down, take in the stunning views, and appreciate the history of that area. BTW, had a great burger at The Place near Cora on my drive back out to Pinedale 😋

Thanks for commenting. 👍😀. That road is probably good to keep it from being too busy with tourist at GRLs. Hmmm. I’ll need to check out that burger place. I did not notice any places to eat in Cora. Always good to slow down and see the surroundings. 👍👍. I just checked out your channel. We have similar likes. How do you like that FJ? New Sub. 👍

@@MoutainGuyAdventures Thanks for the reply and comments. And thanks for checking out my GRL video from a few years ago. I would not leave home here in the southeast without my FJC. It's taken me to so many great places in Colorado and Wyoming. Headed to Colorado in late September with it and my ALiner. The burger place "The Place" is easy to miss, we just happened to see a bunch of vehicles parked out front and stopped in to see what was going on. Safe travels and great mountain adventures!

Thank you posting this. Very helpful when deciding to pull our trailer down it.

Yeah. I had that same struggle. I left my trailer at the BLM site near Pinedale and did not take it, due to the unknown road. What are your thoughts? Would you take your trailer down the road? I’m still on the fence if I’d pull my trailer down it. The place is gorgeous. It would be fun and camp along the river for a week.

Yes. I got confused. I realized it after posting the video. 😳. It is square top mountain. Yes, it is gorgeous country. I love The Winds. Thanks for commenting and watching. 👍👍👍

@@MoutainGuyAdventures I read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy for the first time during rest days on our three two week backpacking trips in the early 70s.(one book per trip). The Winds were the perfect environment in which to explore Middle Earth.

We went there this past summer- craziest road ever! Great video capturing what it’s really like- I wish I had seen your video before we went 😁

Yeah. It’s crazy. I was thinking of pulling my trailer down it but decided to check the road out first. Decided not to pull it down the road after driving it. I wanted to post something so people would know what it’s like for themselves to assess. Thanks for commenting. 👍

we just did this road. Broke a rivet on our hot water heater on the trailer and blew out some interior screws on the drive. On the way out, we saw a Refridgerator vent panel and stabilizer jack on the side of the road. I hated this road with a passion! I saw videos like this beforehand and underestimated this raod. IT's a lot worse for RV's than it looks IMO.

Yup. The road is awful. I believe you had stuff come loose. Sad to hear they have not graded that road this year. It’s brutal. Lots of people drive it with their rigs though. 😳There are some beautiful spots along the river to camp. Thanks for commenting. 👍👍

I had a similar but not as bad an experience with my ALiner popup in '21. I just took the road really slow with the FJC+ALiner, stopped frequently to soak in the views and inspect the trailer. My ten days in at GRLs were well worth the drive in and out.

@roamingtherockies493 I had a 97 Aliner at one time. Loved it. GRL is awesome. 10 days in GRL. Wow👍👍👍

@@MoutainGuyAdventures Enoyed the Winds and had planned to continue to the Kalispell MT area but the wildfires that year, plus the hot temps, convinced me to spend the rest of my trip in southern Colorado.

I tried to get to the campground several years ago with a 16 ft trailer. The road was so bad we had to stop at Whiskey Campground rather than shake the trailer apart. This road is rough. Washboard and potholes the entire way.

Yup. 👍👍. I concur. I did not take my trailer down the road. It’s a brutal drive and slow. It took me forever just with my truck.
